Wheathills House provides residential care in a warm and friendly atmosphere where staff get to know residents to ensure their needs and wishes are continually met. The care team is dedicated to providing a high standard of care that is tailored to each resident. Day care is also available for members of the community.

Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms as they wish. All rooms are ensuite and have TV points and call systems, plus there is a good mobile network plus Wifi available.The home has various communal areas including a light and airy conservatory, and coffee lounge where residents can relax with family and friends.

Meals at Wheathills are all home cooked and can be tailored to meet any dietary requirements.

Residents can take part in a range of activities at the home, which are designed to stimulate residents and help to improve their quality of life. My dear wife who has been at Wheathills for just over one year is a Dementia and Parkinson's sufferer and as such needs specialist and sympathetic care which I am pleased to say she receives in abundance from cheerful charming carers. After a difficult start due to covid, she now considers this to
be her home where she feels safe and secure. Well done everyone concerned and thank you.

Mum came to Wheathills in the Spring of 2021.
At all times, we have found the home and staff to be friendly and cheerful. The house is clean and feels like a home.
Mum is very happy, and we all feel she is safe now, having been managing in her own home until her arrival.
Everyone is helpful and
accommodating.
The food is good and plentiful, and there are plenty of choices.
No complaints - thanks to everyone.

My Dad has been at Wheathills House for just over a year and is the most content he has been in years. As a family we are thrilled with the care Dad is receiving. They never treat him as 'a job to be done', but are always respectful and kind to him. In my job I have visited well over a hundred care
homes in various counties and the level of care, here at Wheathills, I personally consider exceptional. When dad had been there about 4 weeks I chatted to him as to how he felt being there or would he like to try another place. His reply was, 'I've found a 2nd family and I'm happy here'. No greater compliment. Thank you.

Mum has been at Wheathills House for a year now. We were able to take her own furniture and arrange it as she wanted. It is a beautiful house with lovely gardens to sit in. Mum likes the food and the dining room tables are nicely laid out like a restaurant. It is very helpful that a doctor visits on
a regular basis. As Mum is quite deaf she finds it difficult to join in the activities and consequently spends most of her time in her room which fortunately has dual access windows onto the garden, because of this she would like it if the staff had more time to chat with her.

My mother has been at Wheathills House for almost a year now. She was impressed from the outset by the kindness and patience of the staff there and the individual attention provided in terms of diet preferences, exercise and her comfort generally. Her room is light and comfortable, and the grounds are
lovely so Mum likes to take a walk around them most days. Mum’s mental and physical health has improved since she has been at Wheathills House and at my last visit she was the happiest I have seen her for several years. Thanks to the whole Wheathills team for your caring approach, your professionalism and the friendly atmosphere you have created.

The staff at Wheathills House have really helped Mum to settle in at the home where she has been a resident for nearly 5 months. They are extremely helpful, kind and patient and have tried very hard to meet all Mum's care needs. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and Mum loves to sit in the conservatory
and look out onto the gardens. Her room is lovely and sunny and we were able to make it feel like home by adding some of her personal furnishings. They have activities arranged in the morning and there are often visiting entertainers to add variety. Mum says the food is delicious and she certainly looks very well indeed. Thank you to all the staff for your hard work and dedication, it is much appreciated.

You always receive a warm and friendly welcome from all the staff, all are kind, caring and patient to my mum and all the other residents. Wheathills House is comfortable, warm, with excellent facilities, set in lovely gardens with views across the countryside. Rooms are clean, warm and very comfortable
with en-suite facilities. There is always plenty to occupy the residents with activities and entertainment, singing and dancing. More like a hotel than a care home. Meals are excellent served in a dining room with tables laid out to restaurant standards.

My mother has been a resident at Wheathills House for about 6 months and during that time she has always been complimentary about the staff and the care that they have given her, and also that she has seen them provide to other residents. She is fond of sitting in the garden, enjoying the views across
the nearby countryside.
I have appreciated the adjustments the home has made to accommodate my mother’s preferences, for example by changing around some of the furniture in her room, finding out what she likes for breakfast and providing alternatives at mealtimes. In addition, the home provides a range of activities for the residents as well as more practical support including hairdressing and a visiting chiropodist.
I know that moving into a residential home can be a stressful and upsetting experience, but the staff at Wheathills House have worked hard to make the process as pleasant and straightforward as possible.

My father has been a resident at Wheathills House for 2 years. Throughout he has been looked after very well with lovely caring staff. The setting is beautiful but it is the level of care that he receives that is important for us as a family. The staff are always so helpful and nothing is too much trouble.

Mum has now stayed at Wheathills for the last four years. Mum settled immediately and has been very happy in such a friendly and caring home. It is always very reassuring to see Mum so well looked after following some of the challenges of living on her own at home; the company of other residents and
genuine care and warmth of the staff is always apparent on our visits. I cannot thank Wheathills enough for how they continued to provide this same level of care during the challenging times of the pandemic. It is the staff that make this such a good care home and it has now also recently benefited from a major refurbishment. Mum has a lovely newly decorated room and continues to enjoy all the activities and excellent food. Thank you to all the staff for their care and friendship.

First-class residential care home with excellent facilities and staff. Good choice of rooms, when weather permits access to grounds dependant on your health. There is a choice of meals. The owners are very approachable. I would without any doubt recommend the home to anyone.

My mum, who is 87 and lives with us, has just spent two weeks at Wheathills House for respite so that my family and I could go on holiday. She has memory and confusion issues and I was incredibly worried and upset about having to leave her somewhere. The staff at Wheathills House very quickly took all
of that pressure off my shoulders. The care and understanding given to my mum were exactly what I was looking for. I was able to visit a few times myself and was impressed and at ease with the staff, the family feel and the beautiful house itself. It was different to my expectations based on care homes I’ve visited in the past - it is actually a very pleasant place to be, spotlessly clean (no smell!) and somewhere where I would be happy to stay myself. Mum has been very happy and full of praise for the “gorgeous hotel”, as she refers to it and, in her opinion, “it’s the staff that make it - nothing’s too much trouble for anyone”. She was so happy that she has arranged a return visit.

My brother and I are extremely grateful for being invited back to visit our mother in her room after being informed that she had lost considerable weight and was deteriorating. We understand the extra cost and work this causes the home. My mum has responded very positively to our visits. She requires
and is receiving, a high degree of care that is beyond the norm for a Care Home. All the staff have been extremely patient, kind and understanding with our mum and ourselves. A big thank you to Wheathills House and all staff.

My staff team and Mum's GP were very concerned that the lack of family contact were having a very detrimental effect on Mums life and after an in-depth Risk Assessment, it was decided that the benefits of visits far outweighed any risks. With careful planning and testing facilities in place, it was possible to help facilitate visits, which have resulted in miraculous improvements for Mum. We continue to take part in the Testing and Vaccination programmes and look forward to fully 'Opening' our doors again.
My staff continue to give 110% throughout these difficult times. Thanks again.

I cannot speak highly enough of Wheathills House and their staff. Prior to the pandemic, it was vital to find residential care for my 98-year-old mother-in-law. Not only was the manager his staff accommodating and responsive, they actively worked with us to provide her with the care she needed. With
their care and attention, she is medically in much better health and appears ten years younger! She enjoys sitting in the lovely conservatory and chatting to the other residents. The meals are excellent, all freshly cooked, and nutritionally balanced. During the lockdown, thanks to their efforts, they have remained COVID free and continue to swab staff and residents to that end.

My mother has been in this care home for approximately 6 years and myself and other family members could not be happier. She's well cared for and under the new circumstances and couldn't be looked after any better, she's coming up to 98 years old and over the years has acquired some degree of dementia
and has also lost her sight, but she is familiar with the staff who are all very kind and caring. The food is excellent and cleanliness second to none.

My friend was an emergency admission to Wheathills and I was worried how she would settle. She quickly felt at home and cared for. The staff are friendly and treat her with respect. Daily activities are arranged to keep residents occupied and entertained. I was very concerned about the Coronavirus and
very pleased to hear no residents or staff have been affected and been tested during the lockdown.
I have no hesitation in recommending Wheathills House.

In November 2008 my auntie had to relinquish her independence and find somewhere that would look after her. Insistent that she stayed in Derbyshire as she had spent her eighty years there and had no wish to move anywhere else in the country or to live with relatives. After much searching, she very,
fortunately, chose Wheathills and has never looked back. It took her a while to come to terms initially with being dependent and the owner and staff could not have been more supportive and understanding, though knowing my auntie she would have tried their patience!
Since she settled she has been very happy and regards Wheathills as her home and the staff as her family, many of the staff have been there since she arrived and that is testament in itself to Wheathills and its owner with the caring profession being so demanding.
I cannot thank the owner and all the staff enough for their love and care they have shown her in the twelve years she has been there and knowing that it will continue.
