Douglas Court is a family-run, award-winning care home providing affordable quality care based within close proximity to Derby city centre providing easy access to bus stops, train station and local amenities.

A friendly, well-trained team ensure high standards of residential and dementia care in a comfortable, caring and compassionate environment.

Resident happiness and well-being is at the heart of the home and dedicated activity coordinators provide a daily fun, engaging and stimulating social programme designed to encourage residents to lead a fulfilled, happy and enriched life.

In the dementia care suites, residents have access to sensory areas, reminiscence activities and memory boxes. A minibus, means residents frequently get out and about on day trips to places of local interest.

The purpose-built home has a range of large comfortable bedrooms and spacious communal lounges. Home-cooked meals are served in a dining room overlooking the pleasant landscaped sensory garden, which also has a patio seating area and an aviary.

Can not thank the staff at Douglas Court. Mum has been poorly and in hospital. She could not wait to get back. The staff have been so caring and understanding to get her back to herself.

My mother has been a resident for one year. During that time she has received excellent care from the staff.
She ahs a comfortable, well-maintained room and there are plenty of activities to keep the residents occupied.
I couldn't speak more highly of a care home. Well done all at Douglas House.

This is the very best experience of what a care home should be. All residents are treated with the respect and care they should. Nothing is too much trouble. All staff, from top to bottom, want to provide the best possible care. There are daily activities for residents. My mother-in-law is loving it.
The food is excellent and hot. Call bells answered within minutes. Everything you would hope for when leaving a family member. There is nothing to fault. They went above and beyond for Mum's 93rd birthday.

The care my father has received has been excellent throughout his time at Douglas Court. All the staff I have met are patient, caring and compassionate despite the challenging environment they have to work in. My father has been a resident for nearly a year. The family have been very happy with the care my father received throughout his stay. He has been treated with dignity and respect at all times. All the staff are polite, caring and kind, you can tell their heart is in their job and workplace. This has
been an extremely difficult time and the manager and team have been very supportive.

We are really pleased with how Grandma has settled into Douglas Court since February. There are always plenty of staff on hand to care for the residents, they are always very friendly and have a clear understanding of how to care for Grandma and the other residents. The care home is kept spotlessly
clean by the support staff and all residents are regularly showered and in clean clothes. These may seem like basic requirements but other homes I have family members residing in don't seem to be able to fulfill any of them.

Every time I come to visit my father-in-law he is well looked after and staff are able to give an account in detail ad to how he is doing.

The deputy manager is very knowledgeable and professional, her knowledge of the care of elderly people is outstanding. I cannot speak highly enough of our experience with Douglas Court and particularly the deputy manager. Mum required an urgent admission into a care home and the move to Douglas Court was seamless and efficient. The deputy manager visited Mum for an assessment on the Thursday, straight away the deputy
manager impressed us with her professionalism and caring nature; Mum took to her immediately. We then visited Douglas Court on the Saturday and even though it was the deputy manager's day off, she came in specifically on the Sunday to admit Mum. Upon arrival, the deputy manager was there to welcome us and Mum soon felt comfortable with her new surroundings. Since her admission Mum has settled well and this is thanks to the professionalism and care of the management and staff.
