Two of my aunts have resided in Linden House. I never fail to be impressed by the high level of care and genuine interest shown to the residents. They are not only well cared for but treated with dignity and patience. Nothing is too much trouble for the manager. She also has an excellent understanding
in the ways of the elderly. The staff are really warm and welcoming.
The property is spotlessly clean, and very warm and comfortable.
I have no concerns about my relatives wellbeing or health whilst at Linden. Although my aunt would rather be living independently, she cannot praise the staff highly enough.

My mum joined Linden House in August 2022 and she settled straightaway. As a family we like how homely the whole place feels and my mum is more settled because of this and the familiar faces around her. The staff are always so welcoming, kind and caring. My mum enjoys the varied activities especially
the singing and other entertainment. My mum’s appetite has diminished recently but prior to this my mum enjoyed the lovely home-cooked meals. I would highly recommend Linden House to anyone who is looking for excellent, attentive care for their family member.

Linden House is a good fit for my mum. She has been a resident here for almost three years. The staff are kind and caring. The level of cleanliness is excellent. Mum is an extremely fussy eater and yet she regularly compliments the food. My mum's overall health and wellbeing has improved since being
at Linden House and the staff manage her numerous health conditions well.

My mum lived at Linden House for just over 3 years. I always found both the manager and staff approachable and receptive. During her final illness, they were very keen to support her to return to spend her last days in familiar surroundings. I was moved by the care they gave her in those final days
and will always be glad we chose Linden House for Mum.

Very homely, not clinical. The manager and all the staff go above and beyond, nothing is ever too much trouble. Nice size of home which ensures the care is really personalized. The previous home my mum was in was too big, too busy and too noisy with disruptive residents given all the attention which
left no attention for my mum or any of the other residents. Linden House is a breath of fresh air. The care provided 24/7/365 and the detailed care planning is second to none.
When you step through the front door it is warm and smells nice and always a lovely welcome from the staff.
I always enjoy visiting Mum, the staff always make me feel very welcome and not an intrusion or a nuisance.
Being at Linden House has definitely had a positive impact on my mum despite her ongoing health issues. Peace of mind knowing she is safe, secure and well looked after.
The manager and staff are a credit to how good Linden House is for the residents and their families.
Keep doing what you are doing.

Adult social care moved my mum after safeguarding was raised over the lies and cover-ups. Really bad management, she herself should not be around the elderly arguing and shouting in front of residents. Some lovely staff and also some truthful that will tell you what really goes on with care or lack
of. If you value your loved one steer clear of Linden House.

Reply from Sara Derbyshire, Manager at Linden House

I am sorry to hear that you feel the level of service was bad. I feel that adult social care and myself went to great lengths to reassure you of the current situation with your mum's care. Adult Social Care tried their best to keep your mum at Linden House where she was happy and settled, but unfortunately, there are times when a person's needs change and they can no longer be safely cared for in a particular setting, despite all efforts. It was not adult social care's preferred choice to assist in the moving of your mum to another home of your choice after 18 months while your mum living at Linden House. I am available for a call to discuss in more detail so we can better understand your experience and give you some closure. Again I am sorry that you feel your experience did not meet your expectations, and feel you had to write a negative review as I lead my team to give a high standard of care.

My grandma spent a month on respite care here and received excellent care! The staff are all warm and friendly, and they really helped her get back on her feet after having being in the hospital for a fall. It has a very homely feel due to it being a small care home. My grandma is a fussy eater, and
her food preferences were always accommodated for.

Very home from home, from when I walked in I knew it was the place for my father. Staff and the manager go above and beyond and nothing is ever too much! Very clean and tidy. Very in-depth care planning they really know my father and his care is reviewed with us regularly which I like as I'm kept up
to date with everything. They have pantomimes and shows visit which my father loves especially the musical therapy. Food choice is good traditional meals, the garden is beautiful and my father loves it in the warmer weather, last year he was painting the garden furniture with the staff which was nice to see dad still doing something he always enjoyed. I highly recommend this home as with only 16 residents the care is second to none and really personalised. The larger home my father was in previously was very daunting and his dementia just couldn't cope with it, being at Linden House has really brought my father out of his shell and we enjoy coming, I always feel very welcomed and at ease when visiting.

My mother stayed at Linden House until recently.
She was very happy in her last few years.
The staff was lovely, kind and attentive to her and can’t praise them enough for their kindness.

My mother has been a resident for approximately 5 years. I have been extremely happy with the level of care, support and dignity she has been given during that time. Staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and approachable. I would go as far as to say that I think my mother's general level of
health (aside of long-term issues) has improved during her stay.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.757)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.757) out of 10 for Linden House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.257 for Linden House is calculated as follows: ( (51 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (10 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.257

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Linden House is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 16 registered maximum number of service users is 3.2, which has been reached with 5 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
