Foylebank Care Home in Chaddesden, Derby, offers residential care for 35 residents. Residents enjoy a relaxed and homely atmosphere and have access to spacious and comfortable lounge and dining rooms.

Before residents arrive at the home, Foylebank staff like to find out what they like and dislike to arrange their bedroom the way they want. Residents are then encouraged to make their room feel as homely as possible by bringing personal belongings, such as pictures and furniture.

The home has a busy and varied activities schedule which residents are free to take part in. Activities include visits from musical entertainers, exercise classes, bingo, arts and crafts and much more.

Good food and nutrition is important, which is why residents are served wholesome home-cooked meals prepared by the home's experienced chef.

Always happy to visit my friend and see how happy and chatty she is now. She looks very smart as this is our friend, always elegant. The staff here are so friendly and helpful, and the home is nice and warm and clean. I am just so pleased she is now safe, well-fed and happy. Thank you all.

My husband has Parkinsons with dementia and went to Foylebank Care Home for 2 weeks respite care. He was so well looked after by management and very caring staff and nothing was too much trouble as with dementia, he can be very active at night. I was very impressed by the professional attitude of management
and staff as I had had a very bad experience previously trying to get respite care at another care home. He was beaming when I collected him to take him home and I knew that he had been very well looked after by everyone. Well done Foylebank. Thank you.

My mum became acutely unwell with facial shingles and needed respite care after a two-week hospital stay, where unfortunately due to current restrictions, I was unable to visit. I was contacted as soon as Mum arrived at Foylebank, and I just know that she would be well looked after, after my conversation
with the home manager. After a few window visits, we were allowed to visit Mum and her lovely room, overlooking the courtyard. Every member of staff we met were so welcoming, supportive and caring, and has taken quite a shine to Mum. Wonderful staff, a home, clean, tidy and fresh. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you.

I was made to feel very welcome from the start by all the staff. I went to Foylebank Care home for 'rehab' before coming home to my flat. Whilst there, because of the covid lockdown, I was having physio twice a week and legs dressed by district nurses, due to let ulcers on both legs. The physio was
due to a very bad fall in January (3rd time) and ended up having a very bad arthritic hip on the right side and very pressure near the coccyx. I had made so many friends there including residents and was laughing all the time.

Always welcoming when we visit, things are getting more pleasant as rules relax. Hopefully, normality will be resumed in the next few months. Although with the pandemic we have never been able to see mums room everything seems to be comfortable and nice.

Brilliant personal service both parents went in for respite February 2020. Lost my mum August 2020, the support was fantastic couldn’t fault the manager and his team, both with care towards my relative and to me personally after the shock of losing her.

Mum initially went into Foylebank in March 2020 for a respite period as she had fractured her wrist and covid was taking hold. As lockdown continued and Mum spent more time in the care home, it became apparent that it would be in Mum's best interests to remain. This was an extremely difficult time for
my sister and I and the staff at Foylebank were amazing. They were patient with us and all our questions, they were understanding and compassionate. Mum looks really well, and we are more relaxed knowing that she has made friends, and she is no longer on her own. The whole team are lovely and nothing is too much trouble.

My mum has been a resident at Foylebank for 9 months, during that time I have been impressed with the efforts made by the staff to make mum feel at home and safe. The care staff genuinely care for the residents and have worked hard to build a relationship with my mum, trying to find out what she likes
to do and doing their best to enable her to lead what she perceives to be a normal life. It has been a difficult time through the Covid pandemic, but the staff have worked hard to try to enable visits in accordance with the government guidelines. Mum says she's very happy there and has made friends, which is a huge relief to the rest of the family. I can't comment on rooms as I haven't yet been able to see mum in her room because of Covid restrictions, similarly I can't comment on activities as these have been on hold through the pandemic - hopefully, these will resume in the near future. I would definitely recommend Foylebank.
