Family-run Moat House Care Home offers award-winning affordable luxury in the beautiful conservation area of Burbage village, Leicestershire.

Residents are cared for by the same friendly faces with a well-trained team who ensure high standards of residential, daycare and dementia care in a comfortable, caring and compassionate environment.

Wellbeing and happiness is at the heart of the home and dedicated activity coordinators provide residents with a daily fun, engaging and stimulating social programme designed to encourage a fulfilled, happy and enriched life.

In the dementia care suites, residents have access to sensory areas, reminiscence activities and memory boxes. With its own minibus, Moat House residents frequently get out and about on day trips to places of local interest.

Well-equipped facilities include spacious, tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms, a cinema, a traditional pub, hair salon, and lifestyle kitchens where residents are encouraged to assist with everyday tasks such as making a cup of tea or laying the table for dinner. Tasty home-cooked meals are served in dining rooms, which overlook the attractive gardens.

Set amidst two acres of mature trees, Moat House has beautiful sensory gardens with an aviary, patio seating area, water feature as well as a relaxing spinney moat walk.

I would like to pay tribute to the kindness that all the carers showed my mum during her near two year stay at Moat House. But particularly in the last few weeks of her life is when their love and professionalism really came through both to Mum and her family. You were brilliant. Thank you.

My nana has been a resident in Moat House for several years and receives the highest standard of care from all the staff. With excellent facilities and regular entertainment, she couldn't be happier. Since moving to Moat House we've noticed a big change in Nana. She's now more relaxed, her anxieties
have lessened and her overall health has improved. I couldn't recommend Moat House enough! They are just brilliant! Thank you for everything that you do.

My father has been a resident in Moat House for several years and without a doubt I highly recommend it. The place is very well kept and the facilities are very good. The resident's rooms are clean and well equipped and the communal areas, such as the lounges, are very nice. The garden is lovely. The
staff are caring and friendly and interact with the residents in a nice way. The food is good, well prepared and enjoyed by my father. There are plenty of organised activities for the residents if they want to participate. Moat House have dealt with the Covid restrictions very well and kept us informed at all times. My father is very happy there which is perhaps the best endorsement.

We feel that granddad is safe and very well looked after at Moat House. He feels staff are always so friendly and helpful and we see this too when visiting. There are lots of activities going on and the garden is so lovely. Moat House have made visiting safe and accessible whenever regulations allowed

My family and I have been visiting our mother who is a resident for the past two and a half years. The staff are for the most part extremely kind and caring and do a great job across the board from the cleaners who work tirelessly to the activity team who do sterling work and the carers with their endless
patience.


The management and company's policies are at times hard to understand and on a personal level they don't appear to apply much ethics to some of their decisions. They have however taken time to listen to our concerns as a family and hopefully will review some of their practices as a result.

Moat House, Hinkley provides the assurance to relatives that their loved ones are being cared for. My Grandad has spent a challenging year away from us but Moat House have done everything possible, during Covid, to make him and other residents safe. Where they have been able, using all restriction guidelines
they have responded quickly and efficiently to allow distanced meetings, which have been so important for him and us. The staff are friendly and caring and there is an excellent programme of activities set for the residents during the week, when able to mix. Finally, the facilities and grounds offer a feeling of community and when visiting (under normal times) we feel welcomed but also able to visit the garden with him.

I have been a resident at Moat House for nearly 3 years so feel I can give an honest review of the establishment.
Under the excellent management, it ensures we have a happy, well run home. There are plenty of activities one can join in with from artwork to games and quizzes to keep one's brain and
body working. All the staff, no matter what their job or position is in the home are cheerful and helpful and I must give credit to our carers who respect our feelings and help us keep our dignity. In Covid lockdown, they have gone above and beyond duty. What more could anyone want?

The new visiting facilities at Moat House work very well for my uncle. I am able to book a 20-minute visit subject to availability by text message. I was visiting him in a gazebo in the garden but now the winter has arrived they have installed a visiting cabin which is accessed from the car park. I
was greeted by a very friendly visiting host who showed me where to sit and gave advice on using the microphone. My uncle was then brought through to the other side of the Perspex window. We had a lovely chat and we were able to hear each other. My uncle is able to understand to a certain extent why I am not able to visit him inside the home which makes it easier for us. My uncle has been at Moat House for the last 2 years. He has settled well, enjoys the food and says the staff are always pleasant and very helpful. He likes to join in some of the range of activities available. In his own words- “I couldn’t be in a better home.” Well Done Moat House.

Moat House looks after my uncle so well. The staff are always cheerful, kind and thoughtful and my uncle is going from strength to strength because of their excellent care. I have been very impressed by how innovative the home has been in facilitating visits during the Covid-19 situation and how they

My lovely father-in-law has been a resident of Moat House for several years. He is really happy there and extremely well looked after. It has been very hard during COVID, but we have been able to book visits outside, and it has been so reassuring. He knows about the pandemic, but we need to keep reminding
him why we have to wear a mask and why we cannot come inside. The staff are lovely with him and make sure he is well wrapped up when he meets us and that we are socially distant. They give us tea or coffee and make us feel welcome. Dad loves to see us. Moat House has managed as well as possible in these difficult times, and dad tells us by phone that he is good, he likes the food, he enjoys watching sport and environment programmes on the TV, and he feels safe and secure. There are plenty of activities he can do if he wants to. We are all looking forward to the day we can have a big hug with him.

We've been very impressed with the help and ease in which my brother moved into Moat House. All queries have been addressed immediately and our brother has improved due to the social interaction within the home. Unfortunately, everyone is suffering at this time due to Covid but we feel satisfied that

Our first impressions were of surprise that the home was far superior to the ones we had visited before we came here. The office staff, the carers and the rooms were all of a better standard. My aunt asked us "how did you find this place - It's lovely", she said.
