Family-run Moat House Care Home offers award-winning affordable luxury in the beautiful conservation area of Burbage village, Leicestershire.

Residents are cared for by the same friendly faces with a well-trained team who ensure high standards of residential, daycare and dementia care in a comfortable, caring and compassionate environment.

Wellbeing and happiness is at the heart of the home and dedicated activity coordinators provide residents with a daily fun, engaging and stimulating social programme designed to encourage a fulfilled, happy and enriched life.

In the dementia care suites, residents have access to sensory areas, reminiscence activities and memory boxes. With its own minibus, Moat House residents frequently get out and about on day trips to places of local interest.

Well-equipped facilities include spacious, tastefully decorated en-suite bedrooms, a cinema, a traditional pub, hair salon, and lifestyle kitchens where residents are encouraged to assist with everyday tasks such as making a cup of tea or laying the table for dinner. Tasty home-cooked meals are served in dining rooms, which overlook the attractive gardens.

Set amidst two acres of mature trees, Moat House has beautiful sensory gardens with an aviary, patio seating area, water feature as well as a relaxing spinney moat walk.

My father has enjoyed his time at Moat House.
The carers are friendly and helpful. After 5 and a half years, he is moving to be nearer family but will be sad to leave.

Highly professional staff, who are invariably gentle, kind, courteous, bright and cheerful. The staff join in enthusiastically with residents' activities. There is a very full and wide range of activities to motivate residents, including regular professional entertainers. Staff positively welcome suggestions
for activities and seek views of residents and relatives. Where possible, residents are taken outside for rides and walks off premises. At regular meetings, the views of residents and representatives are sought and acted on by management. At such a meeting, a new resident commented on the positive warmth of reception. An amazing and ambitious programme of developments is underway.

My experience here is with the knitting club and I visit and made friends with 1 resident whom I visit weekly. I have got to know quite a few of the residents and they always seem very happy. Both the carers and activities coordinators I have come into contact with are fantastic. I was included in their
Summer Fayre and Christmas Fayre and it was fantastic to see so many friends and families there.

When both of my parents who are in their 80’s became seriously ill at the same time, it was a very upsetting time for everyone, as myself and my sister could no longer give them the care they required. Dad is registered blind and was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Mums heart condition and mobility deteriorated.
Both are now cared for at Moat House Care Home. They have just had their first Christmas there and Moat House made it magical and fun with lots of Christmas activities for the residents and families. Mum and Dad enjoyed the activities leading up to Christmas especially the Christmas Eve party together, having a little dance, despite their mobility. We visit almost every day and it is so reassuring for us, as all the staff are so caring and compassionate to all the residents care needs. Despite our families difficulties, seeing Mum and Dad so happy and lovingly cared for, really was the best Christmas present for us.

I visit mum regularly at weekends, she has a few problems with her memory and gets upset and frustrated at times. She is well looked after though and has plenty of support from the staff at Moat House. She is very well looked after and on the whole happy.
