Staff are excellent and very kind and caring. The home has recently been refurbished and is very smart. Bedrooms are being done as and when vacated, so mum's room is in need of refreshing. Food is very good and plentiful.
I am very happy with the home and the care she receives here.

My brother has only been at Woodheyes a few weeks but I can say that he has been looked after really well. The food menu looks amazing with plenty of drinks available throughout the day. The rooms are all clean and bright and the staff all pleasant and helpful. I am happy that he is being cared for
by dedicated staff.

Woodheyes has consistently provided excellent care and support to my mother. The staff are professional in approach to all residents and visitors, and offer the highest levels of care to residents; and support drawing on outside agencies when necessary. The food is beautifully cooked and delivered,
and the highest levels of hygiene are maintained throughout the home.

Woodheyes is a lovely building, very well decorated and designed. The central garden is a lovely spot to look at and sit in the good weather.
Staff know the patients/residents well and care for them as individuals. Families are all welcome.
Mum says she likes all the people and how busy it is, she
enjoys the company.

Excellent care home. Staff attentive and welcoming. Good range of inclusive activities. Lovely to see Mum engaging and joining in via the social media page. Mum has dementia so cannot recall activities she has taken part in. The home is bright and airy with lovely gardens and a separate lounge as an
option when visiting. The home organised a brilliant summer fete with families and friends joining residents and staff for a fun, fundraising afternoon.

My late mother was a resident of Woodheyes from January 2018 to September 2022. Throughout that time she was treated with nothing less than kindness, respect and affection by all the members of staff. The home was always perfectly clean and my mother was very well cared for. The staff looked after her
brilliantly and made every effort to engage with her. During the extremely difficult period of the pandemic, the home and staff managed brilliantly. We were so grateful for how well they looked after her; her carers became her family when we were unable to visit due to the various lockdowns.
We were always kept fully abreast of her health and care needs and felt very happy that she was in such capable hands. The staff at the home are superstars. I would give them 6 stars if it were possible.

Fabulous home!
My dad has been in the home for just over two years, he was familiar with it as my great aunt lived here, he always spoke highly of the staff and home, and so we knew this was the home for Dad when he could no longer stay at home. He has always been very well cared for and very happy.
All the staff are lovely, very kind and considerate and respectful to my dad. All his needs are taken care of and during the COVID-19 crisis all residents have been kept safe and well, and looked after. The staff have been there as their family over the last 6 months more so than ever, with no loved ones being able to visit.
They have been amazing. The home is always clean and tidy and activities are often on the agenda, in normal time the home has activities that the loves ones can take part in too.
It's a wonderful home I wouldn't want my dad to be anywhere else and highly recommend it.

My Aunt and Uncle have been in Woodheyes for over 2 years. They have settled into a very relaxed, comfortable life together. This has been down to the exceptional care and attention to detail shown by all the staff regarding their different health and care needs. Whenever we visit or phone, all the
staff from the Manager down are approachable, take time to keep us informed and give advice and it reassures us that they are in very safe and capable hands. I would highly recommend Woodheyes.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the management and staff at Woodheyes have been outstanding and kept us informed each step of the way. I thank them and have enormous respect for their efforts as always, but especially during this difficult time, as they have kept my Aunt and Uncle safe, happy and enjoying
the comfort of their COVID-free environment. They have been residents for the last 2 year and 7 months and I have observed the consistently high standards of hygiene, food, professionalism and kindness which my Aunt and Uncle have enjoyed, which has made them feel safe and me feel confident to leave them in such capable hands. Staff have all been supportive of the family during telephone/video calls to keep in touch during this time. A very thoughtful gesture was the brilliant videos that were sent to families during the lockdown and especially the VE-day party in May. They all work hard at Woodheyes and deserve a medal and all can be proud of their commitment to excellence.

My mother has been a resident at Woodheyes for almost 2-years, during which time, her general health has improved in no small part due to the professional level of care she receives. The staff are pleasant, respectful and always take time to discuss concerns and keep family members informed.
The home,
grounds, gardens and food are all of a high standard, and I am happy to recommend the home.

Woodheyes is a wonderful environment where Mum feels very much at home and well cared for.
Management and staff are all so pleasant, helpful and caring and never too busy to take the time to talk to any of our family when we visit or telephone.
During the past four months and with the enforced restrictions
caused by Covid-19 and visiting not being an option, it has been a huge relief to receive regular email updates confirming no resident or member of staff has proved positive. Remaining virus-free when caring for elderly vulnerable residents is remarkable and a testament to the care and standards everyone working at Woodheyes adhere to.
As a family, we can't thank the team enough and couldn't wish for Mum to be better cared for.

I have found Woodheyes to be a superb care home. When Mum first moved into Woodheyes, the family were all apprehensive, but the home's manager completely put me and my families representative completely at ease. I was shown around the home, the downstairs lounges, the dining room, the garden and bedroom,
and all were spotlessly clean and fresh. The staff are very friendly and caring, always there for the residents with a smile and sometimes a dance or a song! The manager is very approachable, she is either in the lounge or in her office and is always available to talk or in my case a shoulder to cry on. Communication is also very good, which is important, we have been getting regular updates regarding the Covid-19 virus via email, and phone calls to relatives are always welcomed. All in all, an excellent care home, I have no worries at all about Mum being a resident there. Above all else, Mum is treated with dignity, which is incredibly important.

The staff at Woodheyes have been amazing, right from the beginning when my father was admitted in October 2019. Their warmth and care not just for him, but for us as a family has been outstanding.
The manager and by virtue all of her staff, seem to go above and beyond anything that we had anticipated.
Currently, with Covid-19, we are unable to visit, but we have been more than encouraged to both call and Skype him which he loves. All tests have been negative there so far!
Would highly recommend.

Prior to the current situation with the dreadful covid-19 virus, I have always been extremely happy with the way in which Woodheyes is run. All staff have been engaging, considerate, professional and caring towards my mother, myself and brother. Now, with all the considerations involved with running
a care home at this time, the management and staff have excelled themselves in keeping the virus at bay, absolutely incredible. My thanks to all staff in giving myself and family such a wonderful place for our mother.

From my first visit to assess the home, the professional and friendly staff stood out. The atmosphere gives me confidence that mum is in a home where she is cared for extremely well. The owners care about the fabric of the building that is always very clean and the design and decoration are carefully
thought about and planned. The manager particularly demonstrates her care for residents, staff and the efficient running of the home.

Overall, the best place and the only place I would trust the care of my mum to.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.508)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.508) out of 10 for Woodheyes is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.708 for Woodheyes is calculated as follows: ( (73 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.708

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodheyes is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 registered maximum number of service users is 7.6, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
