My dad has settled in well. He is very well cared for by all working here. They are very attentive, professional and enjoy the work they do. They welcome and make the residents feel at home. They do an excellent job considering the demanding nature of what they do.

Nothing is too much trouble. Recently we needed a placement for my mother-in-law. At very short notice which was facilitated. My father-in-law is already a resident. The premises are always clean and warm. The staff are very friendly we know our family members are safe and being well looked after.

This care home has cared for my Nan (who recently passed away) for over 6 years and they are currently caring for my Aunty who has been in the home for 3 years. The care is second to none, the staff are amazing and credit to every single one of them that includes the cleaners, kitchen staff, laundry
staff as well. They all go above and beyond their duties to make every single residence feel very special and loved. I rate them so highly and would recommend them to anyone.

Our mother was a resident for six and a half years until her recent death. She had breast cancer, psychotic depression and severe dementia, which made her a challenging person to care for. We were very impressed with the quality of care she received over this long period. Her carers were extremely kind
and patient, and tried their best for her to receive optimal care. In fact, I'd say that some of them exceeded what anyone would usually expect e.g. two of them took her to my father's funeral in their own time, and the Home sent some flowers to her funeral. I also believe that the longstanding Home manager (recently promoted within the organisation) contributed by setting the tone for high quality of care. We are very grateful to the Home for the very high quality care provided over such a long period.

Both my parents were resident here, one with physical disabilities and one with advanced dementia. Over the past six years the staff have been fantastic, always so patient, kind, helpful and supportive. My parents needed a lot of care at different levels, and the staff responded to and managed every
crisis well. They arranged equipment that was needed and liased really well with the local doctors and district nurses. I used to pop in unexpectedly at all sorts of different times, and although sometimes the staff may have been busy or stretched, day or night I never found any problems and I never found my parents lacking any care. The facilities may look pretty standard but the people working there are great.

The staff at the care home showed a great deal of care and compassion to my friend. They always treated her very well and she was very fond of them. On her passing they made getting her husband to the funeral possible and have looked after him with equal care. I am very grateful to the staff here as
I can have confidence that the people in their care are safe and secure.

Dad was in for respite care after falling down the stairs and breaking his ankle. He was to be non weight bearing. As he is an independent character the carers coped brilliantly with his "walks" when they had to chase after him with a wheelchair. He has been well cared for during his time there and
enjoyed the "banter" with some of the carers which has helped him stay alert. After a few days he seems to have settled in well.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.496)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.496) out of 10 for Woodmarket House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.889 for Woodmarket House is calculated as follows: ( (33 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.889

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.607 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodmarket House is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.4 = 0.357

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Hello my name is Sarah, I am the deputy manager here at Woodmarket. I have been at Woodmarket for 20 years now. I have made a lot of memories through the years.

A lot of residents have come and gone but I can remember each and every one of them and have a story to tell about them all.

I started at Woodmarket as a care assistant then progressed to a care team leader and then deputy manager.

I have an NVQ 2 and NVQ 3 and am currently working towards an NVQ 5.

I enjoy my job and love the job satisfaction it brings me, I love to listen to their stories and get to know them.
I love to learn new things.

I have a very supportive family who have been by my side throughout.
