Located in the beautiful village of Manton, in the heart of Rutland overlooking Rutland Water, the home is a purpose-built care home extended onto a grand country residence, providing 24-hour residential care in a comfortable and secure setting for the frail-elderly person and those with mild to advanced dementia.

There is an abundance of space, both inside and out. The home provides a warm and secure environment, with spacious, furnished en-suite bedroom facilities. Together with a large lounge, dining area and conservatory, there are varied areas that residents are welcome to access and use as their own.

The welcoming atmosphere at Manton stems not just from the comfortable and stylish interiors, but also from the wide range of engaging daily activities on offer, led by the amazing activities team. These include daily exercise classes & chair aerobics, local community visits, gardening, music therapy, arts & crafts, hair & spa treatments, shopping trips & excursions.

After lots of searching, we finally chose Manton Hall for the care of our aunt. Although we were so anxious we have no regrets. Such a wonderful home with wonderful staff. We could not wish for a more caring lovely place. Our aunt is so very happy and is cared for by wonderful people.

My husband has been a resident at Manton Hall for nearly 4 years suffering from dementia. The staff have been unfailingly kind both to him and also to myself and I have always felt supported through these difficult years as he does not know myself or our family. I think this is extremely important
as families find it so difficult to come to terms with the loss of the person they knew and it is a comfort that the staff understand this. I and my family have always found the staff there kind and caring and they do their best to care for their residents and cater for their needs, which can be very diverse. I have been very grateful recently as our youngest son contracted Covid 19 and was critically ill and in hospital for almost six weeks. It was comforting to know that my husband was being cared for and I could concentrate on our son through very traumatic and difficult weeks. Manton will always have my grateful thanks.

Mum has been at Manton for five years or so now and in that time her care has been second to none. When she first went into care at Manton she hadn't been looking after herself but with the wonderful care she has had, she looks so much better than she had done for a long time. All of the staff from
the managers to the cleaners are just the very best. The carers are worth their weight in gold and at this very difficult time even more so. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff. Although we would like our parents to be at home, Manton is a very good substitute. I say thanks to them all.

My mother was previously in another care home where she never settled and in fact, was sectioned under the Mental Health Act. After being released from hospital, I decided to place my mother in Manton Hall care home. My mother has been in Manton for over a year now and has settled very well and I can
see she is much happier now. The staff at Manton have all been brilliant with my mum, she goes out on day trips and takes part in the many activities they put on each day. She also loves having her hair cut and blow-dried each week. I feel much happier knowing my mum is happy and being well looked after in a very caring environment where all the staff seem very happy.

Mum due to her health condition was very unsettled when she arrived to live at Manton Hall 18 months ago. The staff worked extremely patiently and with a lot of reassurance and care settled and reassured Mum in her new surroundings. Thanks to their care, dedication and hard work she now feels at home.
As I live away from the area it is such a comfort to know she is happy and being well cared for. Whenever I visit there is such a warm welcome from all the staff, and whenever I phone they are always so helpful. It is a lovely building and grounds, set in a pretty village. She has a lovely spacious room with a large en suite shower room. It is great that the Operations Manager and the staff publish a newsletter every week to keep family updated with care and activities during lockdown. Family can also add messages and pictures for publication so it is 2-way communication. I would not hesitate recommending Manton Hall.

I moved my mother to Manton last year from her previous home; which was unable to care for her as her dementia worsened. Manton specialises in dementia care, and whilst, on first impression, the premises look a little tired, the care that the residents receive is exemplary. There is a low turnover of
staff; with all staff knowing all residents as individuals. My mother has been made to feel welcome, and she is kept smart and clean and is encouraged to join other residents in the lounge where activities are regularly arranged. When I visit, I notice the kindness and sensitivity that staff show to residents. It is like a large family.
The premises are kept clean, and the food is good. I am writing this during the Coronavirus lockdown. Visiting has been suspended, but the home is producing a weekly newsletter to keep relatives up to date with life at Manton. I am confident my mother is being well cared for, and I have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

My mother has been a resident of Manton Hall for nearly five years now - she has advanced dementia which has got progressively worse during her stay. Over the last 12 months, I have seen a significant improvement and investment in both staff and standard of care delivery. I have also noted a huge improvement
in the social and activity needs of residents which is outstanding in engaging with residents in a variety of ways, i.e. outside entertainers and day trips for residents. Sadly, in these times this has obviously not been possible but I am very impressed by the Operations Manager and his dedicated team who have made every effort to carry on with keeping our loved ones safe, "daily activities" as usual but to also engage and communicate most effectively with carers and relatives who are not able to visit. I could not wish for more in these difficult times knowing that my mother is safe and part of a lovely caring community. Thank You All.

Manton Hall has a fabulous team of people working there. They go to so much trouble to make it a happy place for the residents and visiting families. Mum is treated with genuine care and affection, and you can see by her response to the staff that she feels this. Despite her advanced dementia, she is
happy, settled and well cared for. The catering is excellent, and she has gradually put on much-needed weight! I would particularly like to commend Manton Hall on the extra measures that they have taken so far during the Covid 19 situation to ensure that the residents are kept not only safe but entertained and valued.

My mother has now been in Manton for over six months. It was traumatic to realise that her dementia had worsened and she was no longer able to manage in her own home. The staff made her, and me, immediately welcome and she was rapidly introduced to like-minded residents who have been very supportive.
The staff is universally amazing managing to be cheerful and professional at all times. They are very clear that this is my mother’s home and ensure that they fulfill her needs and wishes.
There are daily activities which in better times include trips out to local towns and concerts. They have responded promptly to the Covid 19 crisis and all residents remain well. They are now producing weekly newsletters and even a video to keep us all in touch.
Manton is not as smart in terms of facilities as some homes in Rutland but feels as though it is the most caring.
I recommend them wholeheartedly

Job Title: Operations and Development Manager

Hello, I am Simon. I am the operations development manager for foundation care, the company who is proud to own and operate Manton Hall. I am passionate about the people we support and providing a service that we would expect for ourselves and our loved ones.


I have enjoyed a career in social care for 30 years holding senior management roles to director level and lecturing in social care and mental health. My role in the home is overseeing the entire management team acting on behalf of the board of directors. I work within the home on Wednesday and Fridays and welcome the opportunity to meet with you and your family and sincerely welcome you to Manton Hall.
