Monson Care home is a purpose- built care home situated within the bustling city of Lincoln, whilst also enjoying the quietness of being outside the centre.

Monson is one of four care homes owned by Autograph Care, who believe that every person should live the life they wish to live.

At Monson, residents can choose between various rooms, offering generous living accommodation and various views. Each room has a call bell, an attached en-suite shower room, quality furnishings, a private telephone line, digital TV, communal lift to all floors which can access all communal facilities.

Monson has various areas for residents to enjoy, including two lounges and dining areas; a newly- refurbished café, which doubles as a fully equipped cinema, with large projector screen and surround sound.

The ‘snug’ where residents can read a book, or the many newspapers that are delivered daily. Residents are also invited to use the fully enclosed Mediterranean courtyard, with various seating. Monson has a hair salon on site, to meet all hair needs.

Monson does not have a private car park, but there is a public car park at the back of the home, via King Street, which is reasonably priced. Outside the home, it is permit holders only but there are a limited amount of permits, please ask at reception.

Monson Care home fees include 24-hour premium residential and dementia care with fully trained staff, an in-house laundry service, freshly prepared meals from the professional kitchen team, a daily activity plan that is tailor made to each resident ensuring that activities are always person-centred.

Monson is within easy reach of the city centre for all shopping needs, as well as only a short trip to Lincoln’s famous cathedral and castle, boutique stores, and lovely restaurants.

My Mum became a resident of Monson Care Home after a month in hospital and a month of respite care. I live abroad so all of a sudden having to make a decision and find a care home as Mum could not live at home any more, became a daunting, stressful task. Mum already being in Monson and the support already
from the manager and the staff made it easier and now I don’t have to worry about Mum. The Staff are amazing and it feels like one big family, the activities and celebrations in which family members are included, I have even had lunch with my Mum when visiting.
Mum's room is bright, airy and lovely full of her things. On my last visit Mum even through her dementia is saying she feels settled. The door is always open if you need to check in with staff, and living abroad email communication has been a lifeline. It was sad that our Mum could not return to her home, but Monson is now providing a new safe wonderful home for her.

Coming to terms with the fact that I needed help with caring for my husband with dementia, I was fortunate enough to come into contact with the management of Monson Care Home and what a lifesaver this has been! My husband has been attending on a weekly basis for about five months and so enjoys the activities,
interaction with others whilst feeling safe and valued as an individual. The enthusiasm shown by all staff with the activities is just amazing. The home is clean, safe and welcoming and I know my husband is in good hands when I leave him there. He feels very much a part of the community of Monson and just a big thank you to everybody there.

My 104 yr old mother has been a resident at Monson Care Home for 9 yrs plus. She's very aware of her situation and is totally content, not just because it is a very lovely, modern and clean home but because of the staff. They, from the management to the fantastic carers and ancillary staff, are very
caring, kind, considerate and cheerful to all the residents, making them feel loved, safe and secure. The appointment of an activities lady (after Covid) has brought extra daily stimulation and fun, their birthdays and other notable dates are all celebrated and we the families are all included. The carers know the resident's needs well and chat with them throughout the day, treating them as individuals. They can tell if anyone is a little out of sorts and call in the relevant medical authorities when needed. My mum now needs help with washing, dressing and personal care. As she tells me often “It’s lovely here, I’m a lucky lady and very happy". Consequently we, her family, are very happy too!

I must stress the lengths that the staff went to, to encourage my recovery was above and beyond the call of duty. Prior to my admittance, I didn't eat, and I just wanted to die. Within a week, they had me eating again, and I had renewed zest for life. They basically saved my life.

From the first contact, everyone in the team has been friendly, welcoming and helpful. Dad was provided with all the support from the team he needed and settled in well. His room is lovely and the community areas are bright and airy. The food and drink are all excellent and the activities are good.
My only concerns are regarding dad's clothing. A lot of items have gone missing and dad often doesn't have a set of clean clothes every day.

My mum has been at Monson Care Home for only a short length of time, but upon her death, the staff couldn't do enough including coming back in after working all night. Always checking I was alright even though they had residents to care for.

My mum has been at Monson Care Home since October, for emergency respite care, when my dad was admitted to hospital and while he was later recovering at home. I got a very good feeling about the place from the very first moment and was very pleased to hear it had very good reviews. I knew I was leaving
my mum in very good hands. This was all new to me, but I was guided expertly by all members of staff and kept informed about everything. Mum settled very easily and seems very happy every time we visit and has blossomed and come 'back to life', from the professional care and stimulation. I cannot thank everyone enough.

We looked for the ideal home for my brother-in-law. Monson Care Home stood out. Our initial enquiry via phone was directly with the manager and all our questions and concerns were answered from this moment on, face-to-face, by email or via telephone. We commented on how homely it feels. The staff are
friendly, everyone says hello. The care is obvious, they definitely have the 'care' in care home! The food looks lovely, with big portions and a range of delicious options. The 'hatch' and layout of the dining room make mealtimes very inviting. It's lovely to see the chef and kitchen staff when we visit. Finally, I must mention his room: large, with its own wet room. Spotlessly clean, housekeeping works hard, even hanging pictures and personal items creating a homely feel. On arrival, a lovely welcome card and flowers from the manager and staff - really thoughtful. He has settled surprisingly well, quite literally we can this is 'the ideal home'...

The first time my husband, who has Alzheimer's, needed respite care I felt quite apprehensive but I needn't have been. The initial visit to Monson Care Home to have a look around went really well and I felt very confident that he would be happy there. He settled in really well and when I collected him
he was very relaxed. I am sure that he would have been happy to stay for longer. He'd got a smile on his face and was having a chat with the staff. They showed a genuine interest in him and said that he had joined in with the activities. He'd been well fed, kept clean and his clothes had been laundered. He has since been to Monson for an overnight stay and went straight into the office to give the manager a hug.
Management and staff at Monson are wonderfully caring and kind. Nothing is too much trouble. The Home itself is clean, well set out and a safe environment. I highly recommend it.

Mum resided for a couple of weeks for respite care. Arrangements for the stay were straightforward and relieved some anxiety about finding a placement in good time. The staff were helpful and cheerful, stating how much they had enjoyed looking after Mum. We are going to be returning in the near future.

My dad has been going to Monson Care Home, or his club, as we call it, one day a week for the last couple of months. I cannot rate it highly enough. All the staff are kind and caring and always treat him with respect. The food is exceptional and the home is spotless. He enjoys the activities, especially

My father stayed in the home 27 July 2022 to 4 October 2022. He went in initially for respite care whilst both my wife and I went on holiday and when we went to collect him on our return, we were both shocked to find such a change in both his demine and character - he was jovial, full of life and resembled
something like he used to be a year or so previous. He said that he did not want to return to his home where he lived alone as he liked it very much in the care home and said that there was always something happening to keep the residents entertained and active and that the staff were top class. Sadly, my father became ill and never recovered and my huge regret is that I did not know about Monson Care Home sooner but the positive is that my father thoroughly enjoyed his final months and was kept entertained, well fed, and was very well looked after by absolutely wonderful staff who care deeply about the residents and put them at the forefront of everything. My mum has been a resident at Monson Care home since May 2019 and has been through many health scares during that time. She has pulled through miraculously and I think that this has largely been because of the exceptional care from the care staff.
Although it was hard for my mum to adapt to living
in a care home, the staff worked hard to help her feel settled, and she has had some enjoyable times.
There have been some management changes over the years which has been unsettling, but it feels as if Monson is definitely going in the right direction.

My mum has been at Monson Care Home for just over three years and in that time there have been several changes of management. Regardless of this, the staff have always been welcoming and professional, Mum has been happy and settled and she has always been well cared for. Very recently there was yet
another change of management and I wondered how this would go. All I can say is that the home seems to have undergone a transformation. Residents are busy, the building is stylish and welcoming and communication has improved beyond recognition.


I would recommend Monson Care Home in Lincoln any time.

My mum initially came in for respite care but stayed for over 6 years and she saw out her final days there only recently. Mum loved browsing shops and having a coffee so the proximity of the home to the High Street is ideal. She was always treated with dignity and respect, but it was only during the
final few days that I fully appreciated the bond that had been formed between her and the staff. Though she was quite poorly towards the end she always responded with a big smile when they entered the room and called her name. They made clear how much they’ll miss her and I could tell they were being genuine, not just saying what they thought I should hear. I was able to stay with her 24/7 and provided with drinks and food whenever needed. I was supplied with blankets and towels to ease my discomfort. These are things you simply don’t think about when making such key decisions, but they were caring for me as much as my mum. Kind people, making such a difference.

I had a very good visit with my mother who has been a resident for some years due to Alzheimer's. The team of carers has always shown my mother great care and understanding but on this last visit, I could see that everyone was benefitting from the home's new management. My mum is happy and content and
is always as clean and presentable as she would have wished to be, as she has always been careful of her appearance. I live many miles away and cannot visit as frequently as I would if I was nearer, therefore the peace of mind which the Monson Care Home management and staff give is so important to me.

Mum stayed at Monson Retirement Home for 2 weeks to enable us to go and see our grandchildren in Canada. From the very first contact, everything went smoothly. All the staff were welcoming, helpful, cheerful and caring. I went away knowing Mum would be safe and well looked after which to me was the

My nan took a long while to settle here, Covid restrictions made visiting difficult and unsettling. However, recently I’ve seen a marked improvement in Nan, she seems much happier in her surroundings. The home has had a change in management, which has made things much better all round. Staff are approachable,
professional and attentive to residents' needs. Things are definitely moving in the right direction and I am reassured to know that Nan is getting the best care she deserves and is safe in her environment. Thank you to all staff for your hard work, care and kindness. It is very much appreciated.

Anna

Anna Pacyna

Job Title: Manager

Joined: 2024

My name is Anna Pacyna and I believe my passion for looking after our elderly population started when I was looking after my grandfather. He was unwell and was palliative in his care.


I have worked in the care industry for over 12 years.


I started working in care, as a care assistant. I then moved into a senior carer role, and after 10 years, I was promoted to the Deputy Manager position. After a further year, I took over as the Registered Manager at a Care Home in Welbourn.


I know how challenging all the roles in a care home are, also how difficult it can be for new residents and their loved ones making that transition into care.


All the staff at Monson are supportive and happy to help with any questions.


Joanne

Joanne Varey

Job Title: Activity Coordinator

Joined: 2022

Joanne has been Monson's activity coordinator for a couple of years. She ensures that all residents receive person-centred activities, tailor-made to each resident's needs. Joanne is in charge of organising the daily activities, booking regular entertainment, whether that be in the form of singers, animal therapy and community engagements within the local area, as well as arranging day trips out of the home.


Joanne likes to spend her free time with her family, participating in weekly quizzes, and roller skating and is a season ticket holder at Lincoln City FC.


The best thing about Joanne's job is making the residents laugh, knowing that she has kept people engaged and fulfilled.


Lindsey

Lindsey Carr

Job Title: Head of maintenance

Joined: 2017

Lindsey is our head of maintenance and has worked at Monson for a number of years, dealing with any maintenance issues that may arise. Lindsey is a valued team member and nothing is too much trouble, often helping out other departments when needed.


Lindsey likes to spend her free time walking her dog, spending time with her family and watching her favourite football team- Manchester United.


Lindsey enjoys working at Monson as she feels that every day is different, you never know what challenges may arise next.


Lisa

Lisa Hilton

Job Title: Head housekeeper.

Joined: 2021

Lisa has been head housekeeper at Monson, for over 3 years, but has worked in various other establishments in her 15 year career.
Lisa ensures that her team runs smoothly on a day to day basis, ensuring all the homes laundry and housekeeping needs are met.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys going to the theatre, especially in London, and shopping.
The best part about Lisa's job- ensuring the residents are happy and have no issues, chatting to them on a daily basis.


Amanda

Amanda Laing

Job Title: Head Chef

Amanda has just recently joined Monson but she has settled well into her role of Head chef.
Amanda has worked in the catering industry since she was 17 yrs old, working in various different places.


Wayne

Wayne Stokes

Job Title: Chef

Joined: 2023

Wayne has worked at Monson for nearly a year. He started as a carer but soon realised his heart was in cooking and so moved to chef when a vacancy became available.
Wayne has worked in catering for around 14 years within the hospital environment.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing the guitar, cycling, art and spending time with his family.
Wayne enjoys cooking for the residents and spending time talking to them when possible.


Holly

Holly Mountcastle

Job Title: Receptionist

Holly has been at Monson for approx. 5 months, having previously worked at Tesco whilst finishing university.
Holly enjoys spending recreational time gaming or drawing, whilst spending time with her cat.
Holly feels that Monson is a lovely home, the staff and residents are nice and the home has an all-round lovely environment.


Diana

Diana Coteata

Job Title: Day senior

Joined: 2023

Diana has worked at Monson for nearly a year but has worked within the care industry for 6 years.
Diana runs the day team, as well as the able recovery beds.
Diana enjoys reading, and is currently training to be a counsellor in psychology.
Diana enjoys working at Monson because it is has such a good energy and homely feel, she enjoys working with her team and enjoys chatting to all the residents and their families.


Sophie

Sophie Bush

Job Title: Night senior team

Joined: 2023

Sophie has been at Monson for about a year and half on our night senior team.
Sophie has worked in the care sector for almost 5 years, starting her career on bank at another care home.
Sophie likes to spend her time off, walking her dog, practising yoga and reading thriller and horror stories.
The thing that Sophie enjoys most about her job, is feeling like part of a big family.


Marie

Marie Fletcher

Job Title: Day senior ARB team

Joined: 2022

Marie has worked at Monson for 2 years on the day senior team.
Marie is part of our ARB (active recovery beds) team, looking after residents who have been discharged from hospital and who need some reablement to prepare them to live independently within their own homes.
Marie spends her time looking after her family, and spending time with family and friends.
Marie feels that the home has a lovely atmosphere, and enjoys working with her team.


Paul

Paul Hanson

Job Title: Head of Care- days

Joined: 2020

Paul has worked at Monson, on days, for nearly 5 years, 2 of which have been Head of Care.


Paul has worked in various different departments within the care sector, for over 20 years. He has previously worked with adults with learning difficulties and adults with various addictions but decided his heart was caring for the elderly.


In Paul's spare time, he enjoys watching movies and going for leisurely walks with his partner and their new bulldog.


Paul enjoys working at Monson as he feels that it is his second home, as well as having a close working relationship with all the staff.
