Monson Care home is a purpose- built care home situated within the bustling city of Lincoln, whilst also enjoying the quietness of being outside the centre.

Monson is one of four care homes owned by Autograph Care, who believe that every person should live the life they wish to live.

At Monson, residents can choose between various rooms, offering generous living accommodation and various views. Each room has a call bell, an attached en-suite shower room, quality furnishings, a private telephone line, digital TV, communal lift to all floors which can access all communal facilities.

Monson has various areas for residents to enjoy, including two lounges and dining areas; a newly- refurbished café, which doubles as a fully equipped cinema, with large projector screen and surround sound.

The ‘snug’ where residents can read a book, or the many newspapers that are delivered daily. Residents are also invited to use the fully enclosed Mediterranean courtyard, with various seating. Monson has a hair salon on site, to meet all hair needs.

Monson does not have a private car park, but there is a public car park at the back of the home, via King Street, which is reasonably priced. Outside the home, it is permit holders only but there are a limited amount of permits, please ask at reception.

Monson Care home fees include 24-hour premium residential and dementia care with fully trained staff, an in-house laundry service, freshly prepared meals from the professional kitchen team, a daily activity plan that is tailor made to each resident ensuring that activities are always person-centred.

Monson is within easy reach of the city centre for all shopping needs, as well as only a short trip to Lincoln’s famous cathedral and castle, boutique stores, and lovely restaurants.

My mother has spent a number of respite weeks at the home since June of this year and my wife and I have been most impressed with the professionalism and the passion with which the staff carry out their duties in caring for their residents. We visited a number of homes in the area and were becoming
concerned that we would not find a suitable modern, clean and friendly provider for my 95 year old mother to stay. Following a fall at home and a short stay in hospital, her initial period was three weeks and the Monson Retirement Home could not have been more accommodating and welcoming 'mum' into their home.
The food is excellent as are the individual bedrooms and there is always some form of entertainment being provided whether it be singing, games or a quiz and for those interested the home has its own cinema. We have also found the other residents friendly, embracing new members into their group, which is a credit to the management and staff in how they have installed into their home a sense of wellbeing. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Monson Retirement Home to anyone looking for a professional, clean modern friendly caring environment in which to either stay or place a loved one.

Absolutely excellent care home. The building is spotless maintained regardless. The staff are and have been very caring and skilled in looking after my mother. Nothing is too much trouble. The manager has been excellent in communication. The food is freshly cooked every day and the variety of the meals
is excellent. I cant praise the home enough and I've not seen another home that comes up to this level. The whole experience has been a weight off my mind in the care of my mother Thank you!!

There was a genuine rehabilitation visible in my father and his wife after a very short period of time thanks to very astute management by the staff who were constantly monitoring their care. The premises were spotlessly clean and pleasantly furnished. The staff showed much more interest in their "clients"
than I could possibly have envisioned and I strongly recommend Monson Retirement Home.

Anna

Anna Pacyna

Job Title: Manager

Joined: 2024

My name is Anna Pacyna and I believe my passion for looking after our elderly population started when I was looking after my grandfather. He was unwell and was palliative in his care.


I have worked in the care industry for over 12 years.


I started working in care, as a care assistant. I then moved into a senior carer role, and after 10 years, I was promoted to the Deputy Manager position. After a further year, I took over as the Registered Manager at a Care Home in Welbourn.


I know how challenging all the roles in a care home are, also how difficult it can be for new residents and their loved ones making that transition into care.


All the staff at Monson are supportive and happy to help with any questions.


Joanne

Joanne Varey

Job Title: Activity Coordinator

Joined: 2022

Joanne has been Monson's activity coordinator for a couple of years. She ensures that all residents receive person-centred activities, tailor-made to each resident's needs. Joanne is in charge of organising the daily activities, booking regular entertainment, whether that be in the form of singers, animal therapy and community engagements within the local area, as well as arranging day trips out of the home.


Joanne likes to spend her free time with her family, participating in weekly quizzes, and roller skating and is a season ticket holder at Lincoln City FC.


The best thing about Joanne's job is making the residents laugh, knowing that she has kept people engaged and fulfilled.


Lindsey

Lindsey Carr

Job Title: Head of maintenance

Joined: 2017

Lindsey is our head of maintenance and has worked at Monson for a number of years, dealing with any maintenance issues that may arise. Lindsey is a valued team member and nothing is too much trouble, often helping out other departments when needed.


Lindsey likes to spend her free time walking her dog, spending time with her family and watching her favourite football team- Manchester United.


Lindsey enjoys working at Monson as she feels that every day is different, you never know what challenges may arise next.


Lisa

Lisa Hilton

Job Title: Head housekeeper.

Lisa has been head housekeeper at Monson, for over 3 years, but has worked in various other establishments in her 15 year career.
Lisa ensures that her team runs smoothly on a day to day basis, ensuring all the homes laundry and housekeeping needs are met.
In her spare time, Lisa enjoys going to the theatre, especially in London, and shopping.
The best part about Lisa's job- ensuring the residents are happy and have no issues, chatting to them on a daily basis.

Amanda Laing

Job Title: Head Chef

Amanda has just recently joined Monson but she has settled well into her role of Head chef.
Amanda has worked in the catering industry since she was 17 yrs old, working in various different places.


Wayne

Wayne Stokes

Job Title: Chef

Joined: 2023

Wayne has worked at Monson for nearly a year. He started as a carer but soon realised his heart was in cooking and so moved to chef when a vacancy became available.
Wayne has worked in catering for around 14 years within the hospital environment.
In his spare time, he enjoys playing the guitar, cycling, art and spending time with his family.
Wayne enjoys cooking for the residents and spending time talking to them when possible.


Holly

Holly Mountcastle

Job Title: Receptionist

Holly has been at Monson for approx. 5 months, having previously worked at Tesco whilst finishing university.
Holly enjoys spending recreational time gaming or drawing, whilst spending time with her cat.
Holly feels that Monson is a lovely home, the staff and residents are nice and the home has an all-round lovely environment.


Diana

Diana Coteata

Job Title: Day senior

Diana has worked at Monson for nearly a year but has worked within the care industry for 6 years.
Diana runs the day team, as well as the able recovery beds.
Diana enjoys reading, and is currently training to be a counsellor in psychology.
Diana enjoys working at Monson because it is has such a good energy and homely feel, she enjoys working with her team and enjoys chatting to all the residents and their families.

Sophie has been at Monson for about a year and half on our night senior team.
Sophie has worked in the care sector for almost 5 years, starting her career on bank at another care home.
Sophie likes to spend her time off, walking her dog, practising yoga and reading thriller and horror stories.
The thing that Sophie enjoys most about her job, is feeling like part of a big family.

Marie Fletcher

Marie has worked at Monson for 2 years on the day senior team.
Marie is part of our ARB (active recovery beds) team, looking after residents who have been discharged from hospital and who need some reablement to prepare them to live independently within their own homes.
Marie spends her time looking after her family, and spending time with family and friends.
Marie feels that the home has a lovely atmosphere, and enjoys working with her team.


Paul

Paul Hanson

Job Title: Head of Care- days

Paul has worked at Monson, on days, for nearly 5 years, 2 of which have been Head of Care.


Paul has worked in various different departments within the care sector, for over 20 years. He has previously worked with adults with learning difficulties and adults with various addictions but decided his heart was caring for the elderly.


In Paul's spare time, he enjoys watching movies and going for leisurely walks with his partner and their new bulldog.


Paul enjoys working at Monson as he feels that it is his second home, as well as having a close working relationship with all the staff.
