When I first arrived I was terrified I would not fit in but the staff have been amazing and made me feel so welcome and at ease. There is not a bad word I can honestly say about Chestnut House, they should be commended for the work they do for people like myself with mental health. Thank you to all
the staff for being there and just listening, you truly are brilliant.

My time here at Chestnut has been excellent. I think the staff are excellent. I think they do a very good job. The care they give us is the best. We get good meals, we are definitely well looked after. There are some residents who I think shouldn't be here because of the seriousness of their behaviour,
but overall Chestnut House is a very good home.

I am the latest resident. July 2020 I was discharged from a Local Low Secure Unit where I felt almost abused but now, thank the Lord that I was sent to Chestnut House. I wake up every morning and pinch myself, just in case I am dreaming. I live in one of the ground floor, self-contained apartments with
patio doors opening on to the private garden (in this weather it feels just like a Spanish holiday apartment). In under a month, I am already starting to feel human again which is all down to the superb environment and support, even during all the challenges of Covid. Everything is very well maintained, with a dedicated maintenance team. Every member of staff is professional in their approach whilst being approachable, friendly and supportive. The manager is beautiful on the inside as well as the out, however, the real star of the show is Jessica. (The love of my life, athletic, beautiful kisser, beautiful eyes and four legs). The residents also make you feel very welcome.

My brother has been the happiest and settled at Chestnut House in all the years he has needed to be in care.
The staff show a lot of love, care and respect.
My brother has a family here, at Chestnut House, he can be himself, feel comfortable and safe.
We are truly grateful that he has love and support
from all the staff and management.
The team, especially at present, he has praised and appreciated their support.

Staff at Chestnut House are very friendly and go above and beyond. They care and look after our son extremely well and he is the happiest he has ever been since residing there, with a fantastic manager at the helm.

I came here as an emergency placement on respite, and became a full time service user and supported in all aspects of daily living to enable me to now be a tenant with minimal support from staff. I have improved a hell of a lot as I could not look after myself safely.

It's really good they make the home really homely, and the staff are polite sometimes. The staff have organised the colour run and the UB40 concert at the Lincoln castle. The staff helped me do a hair and beauty course.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.523)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.523) out of 10 for Chestnut House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.542 for Chestnut House is calculated as follows: ( (28 Excellents x 5) + (18 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.542

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.981 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chestnut House is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 33 registered maximum number of service users is 6.6. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.6 = 0.606

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
