    These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
    utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and

    Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
    physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
    medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

Went in with trepidation but was quickly put at ease with the friendly staff. The food was very good with plenty of choice. The kitchen staff were extremely accommodating. I am sure I put weight on. The care was excellent; nothing seemed to be too much trouble. The room was spacious, light and clean.

My mother was a resident at Ermine House for 7 years and suffered from Alzheimer's. She enjoyed participating in the life of the home and built up friendships. She moved to a larger room which she loved and was proud of her ability to use the shower by herself. Having ensuite facilities was not an issue.
She passed in December 2024 and the care and compassion of staff that I witnessed and benefitted from in the final days was exceptional. To me the staff who also talked to me about my mum what she got up to, are the most important ingredient and social care.

Mum had a lovely premium en suite and the staff were excellent and without exception, they were welcoming and attentive. Mum remained in her room due to poor mobility so I cannot comment on other facilities.

I was a resident at Ermine House for 11 days following a hip replacement operation. Although my needs were not as much as expected at all times my care was excellent. I was treated with respect, kindness and patience. I was impressed with all the care shown to fellow residents, particularly the "difficult
ones". I was particularly impressed not only with the meals but the care and concern shown by all the kitchen staff.

Both my mother and father in their later years found themselves in need of 24-hour care, Ermine House was our first choice for Mum. The excellent care that she received during her stay and end of life care given by the amazing staff. Made the decision to place father in your caring loving hands. Both

My dad was a resident at Ermine House for just over a year and settled in well. He loved chatting with everyone and enjoyed the first half of his stay. As his dementia progressed his behaviour became more difficult. All the staff were marvellous and treated him with kindness and respect. They also looked

My father-in-law was a resident at Ermine House for just over a year. He suffered with dementia and therefore wasn't the easiest of people to care for. The staff at Ermine always showed immense kindness to him, everyone we encountered - carers, cleaners and kitchen staff. Whenever we visited the staff

I visited Mum on Monday the 21st of August. She was the best I have seen her in the last 10 years.
She loves the home and is happy and contented. She has a very high opinion of the staff and care she receives.

It's been many years caring for Mum twenty-four seven which was taking a toll on us. Being able to get her into daycare and respite has been a life line to us. She loves the home and staff, as we do. It is nice to know she is being cared for when we need a break. We like the home. Staff are friendly,
helpful, understanding and keep us involved in any decisions, which gives us peace of mind. Happy home.

Job Title: Home Manager

The 44 Residents at Ermine House are cared for by a highly dedicated and motivated team of more than 50 staff. These include Carers, Ancillary staff, Catering, Administrator, Activities Co-ordinator and Senior Carers; they are lead by the Home Manager and Head of Care


Michelle sets high standards of conduct and performance for herself and her staff. As a result, Ermine House delivers a high standard of Quality Care to its Residents
