  • Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
    These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
    utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
    snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
    housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
    home.


    Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
    physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
    medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

My mother came to Foxby Court for respite care over Christmas 2019, as she was getting scared and angry at home. Within a couple of days of arriving at Foxby Court, she seemed more settled and happy, she was more stimulated and eating well. She was always clean and staffed checked on her very regularly.
The accommodation is fresh and homely and I found the experience to be very positive and would use again.

My brother and I are very pleased with the care that mum is receiving. Although staff are obviously very busy they always find time to talk with us. Overall the care provided is good for a few months the food was not satisfactory but now there are new cooks it has improved. The majority of the carers are good although one or two could improve their basic skills and one carer never speaks or acknowledges visitors. All comments to the management appear
to be dealt with. The activities are good with a wider range on offer now that two people do this.

While at times since my father took up residence I have had some issues, neither minor nor extremely major, in the main with the lack of management follow up to issues that affected my father. I have never had an issue with the care staff or the personal care he received. My father passed away recently
and during the last week of his life all staff whether care, house keeping, maintenance and management went that extra mile in his care. During the last three days of his life, if members of his family weren't at his side then a member off staff sat with him day or night, I cannot sing their praise too highly.

Deeply depressed about how my Mother was treated at Foxby Court. Many of the carers were good. A minority were not. My Mother was sat in a narrow hard armchair all day. She developed sores on her bottom. I visited the Home three days per week and saw much I wasn't happy with. I will not continue as
complaints will be made officially. Very poor standard of care.

Due to my friend's illness, there are good days and sometimes challenging moments, however, the staff have always been there to assist in a kind caring calm and understanding manner. The activities are well planned and we leave observed residents baking, coffee morning, easter bonnet making. All done
with a sense of fun and involvement. The smaller sitting rooms give a cosy homely atmosphere. Choice of meals is good and snacks and drinks are always available.

I don't live locally. My sister is first point of contact (doesn't live locally either) We've found the care to be excellent, nice clean room and good support. They keep us informed. Do all they can to make mum as comfortable and happy as possible under the circumstances. It's a difficult job done well.

The welcome you receive from staff at Foxby Court is second to none. Your always greeted with a smile and a friendly hello. My aunt lived at Foxby Court for 17 months and I can say I never worried about her needs being met. She was well cared for every day. Activities that are organised on week days
are interesting and stimulating, just a pity that they don't continue throughout the weekend too. I'm not going to hesitate if we need care for an elderly relative in the future. Foxby Court gives the best.

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2019

Sara, the Home Manager at Foxby Court, has been in the role since August 2023 but has been with the Trust for just under 5 years.


“I worked in other care homes for over 11 years as a Carer, then onto a Senior Carer. I worked 4 years on nights before I came back on days as a Care Supervisor. I then worked for 2 years as Deputy Manager. I had some time out before I became the Night Deputy in other care homes for 4 months, and 1 year as a Senior before I took the post at Foxby Court as a Senior Carer. After 4 months with OSJCT, I took the Head of Care role, which I have done for over 4 years before becoming the Home Manager.”


“I enjoy working in the care sector and enjoy helping people in the best way possible. Delivery of care is paramount, and I enjoy helping with the different care needs through the different stages of life. Being the Home Manager at Foxby Court, I am now on a new journey within my career.”


“Outside of work, I am married, and I have a son who still lives at home. My husband and I enjoy walking and seeing friends and going to new places. We are keen National Trust members.”
