    Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
    physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
    medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

The staff at Hartsholme House cared for my father until his death earlier this year and my mother continues to enjoy their wonderful care. The sensitivity, understanding, attention to detail and personal care provided by all the staff, goes far beyond what you would normally expect. The family has
peace of mind that 24 hours a day our mother is well looked after and safe. She feels part of the Hartsholme family rather than simply a resident and is able to participate or not, as she pleases, in a wide variety of activities, entertainment and events throughout the year. She staff are very family focused. Not intrusive, but even at the most difficult of times offer a quiet and generous support that makes it possible to deal with the darkest hours. Mum's occasional medical needs are well and promptly attended to and we are always consulted. If care at home is no longer practical, I would have no hesitation in recommending making Hartsholme House part of your family.

My wife has been at Hartsholme House for many years. I am very satisfied with the care and love she receives. She has put on weight because the food is good and the carers support her with all her personal needs to a high standard. I have never had any reason to complain. I went out for a meal at the
weekend and it was nowhere near the quality of Hartsholme House. I have recommended the home to others.

Mum has been at Hartsholme House for 6 months now, and is settled there. The staff are always friendly and welcoming and mum is well looked after. I would be happy to recommend this home to anyone, as it has a warm, caring atmosphere and lovely staff.

I am so pleased to know that my brother is well cared for. The staff are lovely and friendly and will always give their time to chat with you. My father has been a resident at Hartsholme House for four and a half years. I have found the care, the cleanliness, stimulation for the residents and food is very good. Even though it is an older building the housekeeping staff do their best to make the place homely, like china mugs and cake stands
on the tea trolley. Photo's on the wardrobe doors of father Christmas giving each resident a Christmas present. I pick out two staff the housekeeper and the lady that washes and irons my dads clothes with such care. It would be nice if sometimes staff took the residents our for a walk.

We visit my brother-in-law every Tuesday afternoon along with his wife who lives in another care home. We always feel welcome and after being shown the little 'café room' upstairs on our for visit, that is where we spend our time with him drinking tea/coffee and eating his biscuits. We find the staff
friendly and helpful and we are pleased how ell he has settled. He has always been keen on outdoor hobbies particularly gardening and he'll love to be out in the garden when the weather improves. He and his wife spent a lot of time in Hartsholme Park

I had a concern about my dear mum in law. I have always felt I could speak to the staff about anything and be listened to, I was very impressed at how quickly an action plan was drawn up and the concern resolved. The manager and her staff have made great progress in making the house look and be more
comfortable for the residents. With new furniture and decoration. I believe all the staff are very caring and do their best for all the residents. As a retired community nurse I know this is not an easy job to care for people with different levels of dementia, but I believe this to be one of the better homes.

Cheryl

Cheryl Gilderdale

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2012

The forty three residents at Hartsholme House are looked after by a highly dedicated team of staff that include carers, administrators and ancillary staff. They are led by the Manager who is supported by a Head of Care and a team of Senior Carers.


Cheryl Gilderdale has been the manager of Hartsholme House since April 2012. Cheryl has been with the Trust for over 17 years’ and has great knowledge and experience in caring for the elderly in residential and dementia care settings.


Cheryl has always enjoyed caring for the elderly and in she joined Hartsholme House in 2010 as Head of Care before taking over as Manager


As well as NVQ level 4 in Health and Social Care. She has completed numerous short courses covering all aspects of caring for the elderly these ensure that all residents, residential, and dementia receive the best care from staff. Cheryl has also completed the Alzheimer’s Society leadership training programme, Champions in Dementia, which ensures the appropriate care is maintained for residents with Dementia


Cheryl sets high standards of conduct and performance for herself and her staff. As a result she is proud that the last inspection of the home by- the Commission for Social Care Inspection, has successfully rated them as meeting, or exceeding, the standards of care expected.


Conny

Conny McGowan

Job Title: Head of Care

Joined: 2007

Conny, our Head of Care at Hartsholme House, initially joined the Trust in 2007 as a Carer at Hartsholme House and soon after was appointed as Care Leader, having already completed her NVQ Levels 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care. Whilst working at The Poplars, Conny was offered the role of Head of Care and spent four years there before re-joining the team at Hartsholme House in 2012, continuing in the position as Head of Care. Conny achieved her Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care in 2015 and the continued her education with the Open University and was very proud to be granted a First Class Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.

Conny is passionate about dementia care and works closely with her team members. She values ideas and suggestions to improve, not only ways of working, but also to promote the quality of life for each individual resident at Hartsholme House and is involved with innovative projects which will benefit the residents. Conny is proud to be part of a team that achieved an ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating in their last inspection, and she works hard to maintain a high standard in person-centred care.

Conny, in her spare time, enjoys reading, playing badminton and spending time with her family.


Paula

Paula Robinson

Job Title: Head Housekeeper

Joined: 2006

Paula Robinson is the Head Housekeeper at Hartsholme House and has been with the Trust since 2006.


Paula started as a relief Housekeeper and Laundress and progressed to Head Housekeeper in 2013, achieving her NVQ Level 3 in Hospitality, Supervision and Leadership.


Paula and her team work hard daily to ensure that the home is cleaned to a high standard and enjoys positive feedback from the families regarding the cleanliness of the home.


When Paula is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, eating out, DIY and gardening.


Tracy

Tracy Pattle

Job Title: Administration Assistant

Tracy is the Administration Assistant at Hartsholme House. She has worked in the Health and Social Care sector since 2004 after working in London as a Portfolio Administrator for many years. Tracy obtained her NVQ level 3 in Business Administration in 2009 and enjoys the varied days that the Health and Social Care sector brings.


After becoming the primary carer for various family members, she understands the challenges that are faced by families when choosing the correct person-centred care provision. She hopes that she, and her family's experience, can help others find the right care provider.


In her free time, Tracy enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, and watching movies.
