Choosing a care home can always feel very daunting, but Meadow Court has truly been a home-from-home for us all. But most importantly for my nan, who has been in the loving hands of Meadow Court for over 4 years with Dementia.
Throughout these 4 years, my nan has been offered so many opportunities,
activities and true passionate care. My nan is now completely bedbound, and we truly couldn't have asked for a more loving, passionate and caring home for my nan to be in. Every staff member looks after my nan as if she were their own family. My nan is always clean, comfortable and happy and this is all thanks to the staff here at Meadow Court.
Each member of staff is really interested in learning more about my nan's past life, so they can best support her Dementia. Even through Dementia, my Nan always compliments her safe space here at Meadow Court, using words such as "each nurse should have a medal for the care they give me here" and "I love my home here!". This is everything, thank you.

My mum-in-law has now been in Meadows Court Care Home on palliative for over 4 years. She has Alzheimer's and dementia, her life is like a roller coaster, one day she is sad, the next she is happy, some days she is sleepy, and the next she could be awake for days talking all the time in and out of her
dementia world.
May I say the staff are devoted to care for mum, not just professionally but also I can see a personal side of care.
We can't believe it's been over 4 years that mum has been in the loving care of the Meadow Court family, yes family, that is what we have all become.
Every day I phone for an update and also visit every week, I will always end the call or come away and say a big thank you, and that is a lot of thank you's in 4 years.
So again I would like to finish off and say again and again thank you to our loving caring Meadow Court family for giving mum lots of quality of end of life care.

My dad died on the 10th of November in Meadows Court, he had the horrible disease of Vascular Dementia and his home for the last 2 years was Meadows Court. I feel very fortunate to have found such a place, his physical and emotional needs were met by the Meadows Court team, they are a truly professional
group of people but more importantly their care and love of the residents shines through and I know my dad died feeling loved. I hope they are all proud to have given him such comfort in his last years and to be a great support to me in testing times.

My mum moved here on 1st July with a post-op for a broken hip and was unable to stand. She has since been walking with a frame. Has re-learned to eat again and drink I am so happy with everyone who works there. The staff are so empathetic, patient, kind and encouraging that its the first time in 8
months that I feel happy where she is and how she is being cared for. Her whole attitude has changed and I have not seen her cry once. Before moving to Meadows Court she was crying constantly and was so unhappy. Thank you so, so much to the manager and the staff for all you are doing for my mum and may this continue. I know her dementia is getting worse and she only remembers me, her daughter, but it would be lovely if she could remember the rest of the family. THANK YOU MEADOWS COURT. Would recommend you to anyone and I want to book my room!

Mum transferred here from another care facility. Her needs etc. have been met with courtesy and the professionalism of the manager and staff. We've had our ups and downs over the past few months but working together as a team mum is now settled and happy.

My father in law has been a resident for three years, the quality of care he receives is top class, the staff run around after all the people in the home, and treat them with great dignity.

We are very pleased to receive a positive review and this only motivates the Manager and her team to work even harder.

The staff are very caring and a credit to the home. They usually manage to stay cheerful and professional in what can sometimes be difficult situations. Many of the staff have been working in this home for the full 18 months I have been visiting a relative, which I see as positive. They get to know
the residents, routines and procedures. There seems to be an established routine to the day which helps residents feel more comfortable and makes planning visits easier.
Investment has been made to improve the appearance and functioning of the home over the past year.
There seem to be regular activities during the week, and the notice board is regularly updated with photographs.
The garden area has improved, it would be good if the residents could look out over the garden; as the views out of the main windows aren't great. (Although it looks like this may be in hand.)

It's very encouraging that the hard work and effort by the manager and staff is recognised. We are far from perfect but the manager and her team take real pride in looking after all our residents.

My husband was not safe in this care home, they failed to look after him at night. There is no safety door at the top of stairs, only a small gate. My husband was able to go into the laundry, there was no one available to stop him. He wets the bed and there was no protective cover on the bed. There
was no pad on the floor so he was able to come out of his room without the staff knowing, so he went into an old lady's bedroom at 1pm and got into her bed. This was very upsetting for the lady. And this shouldn't have happened. There is no stimulation for the people in this home. They have a television in the lounge but only has three channels on DVDs or CD player. The staff at this home do a good job. But the manager is not suited to do this job.

Reply from N. Shah, Registered Provider at Meadows Court Care Home

Any negative review is obviously disappointing, however, a factually inaccurate review is also upsetting. The resident concerned had certain issues and all concerns raised were fully dealt with through the Safe Guarding Team, who were happy with the investigation and response provided. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to care for the resident and we hope he is happy and settled in his new home.

I visited my uncle last week and was immediately escorted to him. He was in the dining room at the time (very early for his dinner) The dining room as in every area of the building was very clean, tidy and comfortable for the residents.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.580)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.580) out of 10 for Meadows Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Meadows Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (24 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.58 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Meadows Court Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 22 registered maximum number of service users is 4.4. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.4 = 0.455

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
