Mum has been in The Gardens since February 2022. We as a family, are more than happy with the standard of care and feel it is a lovely, friendly environment. We have no complaints whatsoever about the home or the staff.

The care provided is excellent, the staff are always happy to help and talk to family, if required and happy to answer any questions. They keep family updated on their family member. Residents' needs are well cared for and met, always using their names when talking to them. Cleanliness is also excellent
and the food always smells appetising.

Staff at The Gardens are welcoming, kind, caring and supportive at a difficult time in residents' and families' lives. They are accommodating, always friendly and have a welcoming smile, whenever we visit. Initially, Dad was unsettled, but over the days, the care and support he has received from them
is beginning to show and he is chatting with other residents and seems happier. As a family, it is comforting to know he is safe and receiving excellent care.

My mother recently needed a hospital visit. Everything was arranged by the care home's staff. At the last minute, the home were aware of a possible issue with transport. I was contacted and we agreed that I would transport Mum. The carers made sure that Mum was ready for me to collect her with everything
she needed. On her return, a hot lunch was quickly supplied for Mum and a warm welcome by the staff.

I find the staff genuinely compassionate and caring. They also care for the whole family, particularly my father, who is finding it difficult in accepting that my mother needs personal care. After a short spell in hospital when Mum was extremely ill, they have gone over and beyond to nurture her back
to health. I know I can contact them at any time, and they are always willing to talk and to listen.

My husband has been a resident at The Gardens Care Home for three years. I cannot recommend the home highly enough! He is being very well cared for with his dementia and physical needs and treated with patience, dignity and respect. The managers, seniors, carers and all the staff groups - kitchen/laundry/cleaning/activities
and maintenance staff - produce a safe, effective and well-led care home. My family and I feel supported by the manager and staff; they respond quickly to any queries, and we are kept informed of health concerns. Overall, I think the professional teamwork combined with a kind, courteous and friendly staff make The Gardens a care home that is "second to none". Thank you, everyone - so much!

I feel very fortunate, comforted and grateful for the loving care and attention shown to my mother by the professional and dedicated team at The Gardens. The home is impeccably run and organised, with staff whose first concern is always the welfare of the residents. I am grateful for many things; the
consideration shown to me as a relative whenever I visit or all, the lockdown video calls to help us stay in touch with our loved ones, the contact with me to keep me abreast of doctors' visits or changes in medication, and their willingness and quickness to respond to requests. The premises are always spotlessly clean, the quality of the meals is excellent, and the residents enjoy the many and diverse activities. And I will never forget the lovely birthday surprise for Mum last year!

Mum is 97 and a half. My brothers and I cared for Mum until one had a fall in December 2021. She has dementia. Originally she was admitted to The Gardens for respite care. She adamantly refused to be cared for outside the family. She is now a permanent resident and very happy. She has made friends.
We can see she is happy and content, warm, fed and cared for. We are at peace knowing one won't have harmed herself in her home.

I love the care and friendliness of the home, in general. The fact that if anything happens to Mum, I am told and kept informed all the time. I haven't been able to visit for almost a month due to covid. I was worried, but found her just as she should be - happy and cared for. I have respect for all
the staff that care for her and will always be grateful.

All the staff at The Gardens have been lovely, nothing appears too much trouble for them.

Very pleased I chose The Gardens, Boston for my mum. The staff are very good with her, she didn't settle that well when she first went into the home. They all did their utmost to help her settle in, even though I knew she would have been hard work. The home keeps me updated with all aspects of my mum's
care when she wasn't well and keeps me updated when her hospital consultant rings them. The staff do a very good job and I would not hesitate to recommend the home.

Thank you to the manager and all the staff for making my mothers 101st birthday so special. Aware of her love of music, it was provided. My mother said at my next visit "I held on tight to my walker and danced - it made me feel young again!". The manager's professional, caring attitude is reflected
in the staff's day to day care. Phone calls are answered in a friendly, efficient way, and when visiting, the warmth of the relationship between my mother and the carers is clearly evident. The combination of kindness with efficient care gives the family peace of mind.

Clean, good hygiene, welcomed and settled Mum in with care and concern. All staff are kind and courteous - very approachable. Excellent rate of cleanliness and the food is excellent. Made mum feel at home in a short space of time, I would have no hesitation recommending The Gardens, in fact, I already
have. I feel that knowing my mum is in such capable hands has taken a weight off of the family's shoulders.

Very caring staff. They looked after my mum’s well being and mental health, as well as the family’s mental health. Nothing was too much trouble. Mum was only there a short time after a stay in the hospital until care in the home could be sorted out. If Mum in the future needs full-time care, The Gardens
would be my first choice.
Modern accommodation and beautiful gardens for the residents to use. Excellent all round.

Victoria Barty

Job Title: Home Manager

“Kind care to me means being respectful to others at all times, treating each and every Resident as an individual and giving them choices in each aspect of their life.”


As a dedicated healthcare professional, Victoria has gained a wealth of experience in providing care to elderly people to help enrich their lives, leading to her progression as Home Manager. She has enjoyed a successful career in the care industry so far, gaining an NVQ Level 4 in healthcare, as well as a Registered Manager’s Award.


Victoria closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that means they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoyed most about her role, Victoria remarked: “My favourite part of working at HC-One is spending time with such a kind, caring team to ensure that Residents are cared for to the best of our ability.”


Victoria credits her biggest achievement to celebrating a fantastic 35 years of marriage.


Outside of work, Victoria enjoys gardening, playing card games and spending time with her pet cats.
