My husband didn't know what to expect. Over the 1 week respite care, all his needs were met. All the staff were helpful, kind and empathetic to his needs. Nothing was too much for them. I would not hesitate to use Patchett Lodge services in the future. We would both recommend Patchett Lodge to anyone.
Thank you all!

My husband has been in residence at Patchett Lodge for nearly two years and throughout his time he's been very well looked after, cared for and treated at all times with dignity and compassion! He is kept immaculately clean and well-turned out. The office staff are first class in the execution of all
challenges! The carers are all kind and expertly efficient in every way to make the resident's lives happy and comfortable. I am more than happy with Patchett Lodge.

My grandmother is receiving very good care at Patchett Lodge. She has had a difficult few months with her health and they have been so good in dealing with her situation.
As a family we have been kept well-informed of changes with my grandma's condition. At all times she has been treated with dignity
and respect.

Would highly recommend this care home with friendly, caring staff! Well, managed care home. They do lots of activities such as movie night entertainment, coming into the building and themed days around the world. A warm welcome when you come. Just would highly. Recommend this care home.

The staff are excellent - professional but friendly and caring. Any concerns are dealt with immediately. As I arrive to visit my husband, I am always updated on his condition/mood/appetite etc. The atmosphere at Patchett Lodge is warm and welcoming. Activities for the residents are very good too.

Our first impression, when we were looking for a care home for Mum-in-law, was of a friendly, happy and welcoming home. That was over 4 years ago, the impression still stands true. The main accent is on the word home, it really is staff, caring and safe. Maybe with the age of the building it isn't as
glizty as more modern ones, but what it lacks in wow factor it more than makes up for in care, compassion and stability. Everything a family could wish for when choosing care. Well done all staff.

I live at Patchett Lodge from February 2022. It is like a home from home and the team have enabled me to walk and do more for myself and other residents have made me feel welcome.

I moved into Patchett Lodge in 2019 and I love living here. I cannot communicate very well after a stroke and the manager and senior team have put in place writing i.e. pens and paper for me to communicate with other residents.

The carers and staff are very kind but sometimes (not so much lately) some members of staff have different rules to others, which confuses us visitors. A little more personal care such as doing nails etc. wouldn't go a miss. Otherwise, my husband is quite content and happy.

My grandmother moved to Patchett lodge following a decline in her health. During her stay, she has been very well looked after. She was unwilling to walk before her move but is now starting to try and walk again. The carers are helping her to regain her confidence and she is steadily improvement. The
facilities are clean, bright and thoughtfully furnished and the grounds are lovely to walk around with a wheelchair. The family feel that she is in safe hands and the improvement in her overall mental health is fantastic, she was suffering from depression quite badly but now is starting to return to her old happy self. I can’t recommend Patchett Lodge enough.

I cannot fault Patchett Lodge in the care they provide my father. From the moment we arrived, the staff provided everything we needed.
The facilities are excellent; the accommodation is light, spacious and is situated in a nice green setting.
The staff are caring, both in my father's needs and in
making him feel as at home as possible. We were always made welcome with the staff going above and beyond to help.
I could not wish for better care for my father.

My mother has been a resident at Patchett Lodge now for over 4 years. All the carers and ancillary staff show great care and affection for my mum, making her life very comfortable, mum cannot communicate with the carers, but they all seem to know her well enough to assess what she requires and if she
is unwell or distressed in anyway, any issues are dealt with in a timely manner and I am always informed if they have any worries.
The home is going through a period of re-decoration and modernisation, but this does not appear to have upset any of the residents whilst the work is being carried out, this again is largely due to the care and understanding of all the carers and staff.
I always find everyone friendly and welcoming whatever time of day I turn up to visit mum. Thank you to everyone.

My Aunt has been a resident at Patchett Lodge for just over 1 year. She became a permanent resident at the beginning of August 2017. All the staff are very friendly, welcoming and caring. I have noticed an improvement in the care home presentation i.e fresh flowers, sun lounge interior and gardens to
name a few, within the last few months around the time when there was a change in the managers, although things were fine before, there has been an improvement.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.387)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.387) out of 10 for Patchett Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.687 for Patchett Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (58 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.687

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Patchett Lodge is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 30 registered maximum number of service users is 6, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
