Ruckland Court Care Home is located in the North of Lincoln on the Ermine West estate. The home provides long term residential care, specialist dementia care and short term respite care. Ruckland Court has a range of accommodation including self contained apartments, enabling residents to maintain their independence.

Accommodation includes bedrooms and en-suite facilities with the option of a kitchenette in some of the rooms. Residents are encouraged to personalise their space with their own furnishings and belongings. There are communal lounge and dining areas on each floor where residents can choose to socialise and take meals if they wish.

The Coffee Club is a lovely place to entertain family and friends or the in-house pub for social occasions. There is the cinema room for residents to enjoy regular movie nights and the hair salon for the residents to have their weekly set and blow-dry.

The garden is well maintained and secure with pleasant seating areas for residents and their families to enjoy. The home is adjacent to the Ermine playing fields and close to local shops and amenities. All areas of the home are wheelchair accessible and there is a lift to the first floor. Daily activities are provided for residents to join in if they choose, including gentle exercise, arts and crafts, gardening and games. The home is regularly visited by outside entertainers and local community groups.

Care staff are friendly, well-trained and provide round-the-clock professional assistance according to individual requirements. Residents are visited by a hairdresser, chiropodist and local health care professionals when required.

Dad has settled in at Ruckland Court and adores the wonderful team that look after him. He enjoys the food and has started to tell jokes again. He helps in the garden during the summer months and he still gets to enjoy a pint with my brothers once a week. I enjoy visiting such a friendly environment.

Ruckland Court is a lovely home with staff who genuinely care. My dad has been a resident for over three years and has always received excellent care. He does complain about the food and lack of activities he would like to be involved in but that’s probably just him. The accommodation is spacious and
gives a real home from home feel.

My mother has been resident now for over six months and during this time she has been extremely happy. The staff, both management and nursing, are all excellent and very caring.
Food is good and entertainment and activities are second to none.
Whilst here my mother has found friendship and lovely
company.
No hesitation but to recommend.

My Mum has been a resident for the last 4 years and during this time her care and support has been like having a second family. A real home from home feel. The staff have bee excellent and nothing is too much trouble, often going over and above their duties. Sadly Mum passed away earlier this month
and the care, support and dignity shown in her last few days was excellent. We can't thank the staff and management enough.

Ruckland Court is a very nice care home which is, clean and friendly. The staff are friendly and helpful. My mother only goes in for respite care but the staff are always welcoming and remember her name. The only problem I have is they keep losing my mothers clothes.

There is no comparison to the home that my Mother was in before. Ruckland Court exceeds all expectations than her previous care home. She is happy, joins in with the activities, something she would not have done previously. The standards of the home that we see when we visit are excellent and staff

Ruckland Court looks after my mother very well. The rooms are always clean and tidy. However, the resident's lounge needs air conditioning putting in. The food is mostly fine but you possibly need another care assistant.

Ruckland Court staff have always been kind and helpful and the home and gardens increasingly attractive and interesting.
After a month in hospital my mother-in-law returned to Ruckland Court weak and confused. The staff have been exceptional in their care and welcome for her, giving her dignity and
encouragement with attention to detail.
She is now gaining independence and strength and is renewing interest in activities.

When Mum returned to Ruckland Court after a spell in the Hospital, the staff could not have been more welcoming. They all seemed to stop and talk to her. They were by her side helping her regain confidence with her zimmer frame, pro-actively re-arranged the furniture in her room to make navigation
easier for her and reduce the risk of falling against furniture, laying a pressure sensitive mat beside her bed so that staff would immediately be alerted if she got out of bed in the night. They were particularly attentive throughout her convalescence.
Mum responded well, becoming more engaged, joining in and initiating conversation again and made a determined effort to recover her walking.

Ruckland Court is a lovely care home. My mother has been a resident for over 10 years and is very happy. I am delighted that she can enjoy her life is this caring, friendly community. The staff - all staff including the Manager, Carers, Laundry Ladies, Chefs - everyone involved, do their utmost to ensure
that she is happy and well cared for. I have utmost respect to all in what can be sometimes difficult circumstances and send my thanks for their care and attention to my mother. It is a happy friendly care home.


I recommend Ruckland Court without hesitation.

A wonderful care home on every level. They cared for my Nanna for five years. Over that time they became part of her family and showed so much care and compassion. Very kind and friendly carers. She was shown so much respect, love and dignity towards the end of her life, which was very comforting for
us as a family.
Cannot thank them enough for the care shown over the years and would certainly highly recommend them for both daycare and residential care.

I have seen a great improvement under the new manager and her team. The whole atmosphere is now warm and friendly and senior staff are accessible. It is still hard to contact Ruckland Court out of hours, for example when my mother rings us in the night and is frightened. My mum likes and trusts the
staff and her rooms are always clean and tidy. It is difficult to persuade her to socialise, and she wears the same clothes for days in spite of staffs best efforts.

We have always found the staff caring and friendly, treating my Mother with dignity and respect. The flat is comfortable and has everything my Mother needs, although she has, in the past, preferred to spend time in the lounge with the other residents where she gets involved with the various activities
provided.
The quality of food in the dining room is excellent and we know she enjoys her meals.
We are happy in the knowledge that my Mother is being well looked after and cared for. Thank you.

Adam Atkin

Job Title: Home Manager

Adam is our Home Manager at Ruckland Court and is passionate about caring for older people. Adam has worked at Ruckland Court since 2018 in various roles and was promoted from Deputy Manager to Home Manager in 2022. He knows our residents and their families well and is dedicated to providing the highest standards of person centred care.


Sharon

Sharon Robinson

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2002

Sharon Robinson has been a carer and now progressed to Deputy Manager at Ruckland Court Care Home. She has been at Ruckland for over 20 years. To obtain a better understanding of her job she became the Dementia Champion for Ruckland Court.


Sharon helps residents take part in activities such as gardening and takes photos so they can enjoy talking about their experiences later. She also takes part in Dementia Cafes hosted at the home and enjoys supporting families and helping them to understand dementia better.

Michelle Middleton

Job Title: Client Services Manager

Joined: 2016

Michelle has worked at Ruckland Court since 2016.


Progressing to the role of Client Services Manager after being in the role of Head Housekeeper. Michelle supervises the day-to-day operations in the customer service department, particularly focusing on food and beverage service and helping to maintain the high standards in the Home.


She was recognised with a Country Court award for ‘Our Values’ for her dedication to our residents. Michelle is passionate about recognising the little things that matter to people and doing her best to ensure our residents lead fulfilled lives.

Sharon has been at Ruckland Court for almost two years. She started as a care assistant and then worked her way up to be a senior care assistant and now as deputy manager.
Before joining the team at Ruckland Court, Sharon was in retail for 20 years, and after taking care of her father she took the leap into care as she felt she could make a difference in the lives of others and loves getting to know our residents and their families.

Melissa Wilson

Job Title: Home Administrator

Joined: 2019

Melissa is our home administrator at Ruckland Court. She has worked here since 2019, previously working in hospitality management. Melissa’s grandmother moved into Ruckland Court, and she was impressed so decided to apply for the role when it became available. She enjoys the homely and welcoming atmosphere and loves to support our home and get to know our residents and their families.


Denise

Denise Lawson

Job Title: Care Assistant

Denise has been a Care Assistant at Ruckland Court Care Home since 2012. As part of our care team she is responsible for providing five star care for our residents. She was recognised with a Country Court Care Hero award for putting residents at the heart of everything she does. Denise is passionate about dementia care and will always show compassion and put others before herself.
