  • Your fees cover several areas while in their care.
    These services are: Personal care, accommodation,
    utilities, use of communal areas, meals, drinks and
    snacks, laundry (excluding dry cleaning),
    housekeeping, maintenance and activities run by the
    home.
    We currently have a welcome offer available for new residents funding their own care at Skirbeck Court. The offer includes free hairdresser/barber services, chiropody, daily newspaper of your choice and toiletry gift set on arrival.

    Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
    physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
    medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

Very positive experience for me. What was a very stressful situation was made positive by the way the staff at Skirbeck Court welcomed Mum and Dad and looked after me, addressing my concerns and relaxing Mum and Dad. The staff made sure I was okay, even providing me with food and drink. Thank you everyone.
Mum and Dad look and feel so much better now.

I have enjoyed my stay with the general atmosphere being rather pleasant with the people from staff to residents. The manager is an exceptional person doing her work yet being able to interact with me on a personal basis. At lunchtime, I quite enjoy that everyone comes together and I like that sense
of community that I have experienced.

My brother-in law came to Skirbeck Court for a months rehabilitation, my sister and I visited every day. I would like to say what a lovely home it is, the staff were all so welcoming and always happy to have a chat, nothing was ever too much trouble. The manager was lovely, always happy and smiling
and always dealt swiftly with any queries we had. The food choice was varied and, as one resident told me, 'delicious'. The home is very clean and well-presented. This home is a prime example of the way things should be done, my thanks to all you wonderful people who provided care for my brother-in-law. A big thank you to you all.

My father was here on a one month placement after suffering a stroke. I found all staff to be very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. They answered any queries I had very quickly and were always friendly. My father said the food was delicious and of high quality. I would not hesitate to recommend
this home to anyone. My father enjoyed his time here.

At this care home I have always been treated with the utmost respect and dignity, this is constant and all the staff know how to speak to you and address you kindly. The level of care is very high and the way each carer gives you their full attention. The food here is excellent and the canteen staff
are always obliging if you fancy something. I feel an aura of love and compassion here and I have always felt safe here.

I have only been at Skirbeck Court for about six weeks, but I have settled in very well. I like the social opportunities and join in most activities when I can, and they are varied and interesting. I feel safe and well cared for here.

Staff extremely friendly and affectionate with residents and become a second family. Much better than homes in France where we live. Rooms are a bit small. Lovely, well-tended garden. My mum has been welcomed and well looked after. It's a big relief for the family to see her so happy there.

My mum came to Skirbeck Court at the end of March direct from the hospital scared and very unwell. The staff immediately took care of her from the 1st moment, easing her worries and giving her the best care. She was looked after so well 24 hours a day and continues to receive the very best care from
all the staff. Mum recovered after a few weeks to a level where she understood her new situation, and the staff looked after her mental well-being too at that time.
Skirbeck is extremely well-run and managed, is very clean and provides 1st rate food and drinks all the time. The staff are always friendly to me and have a rapport with my mum and all the residents. My mum is safe and secure and is extremely well cared for, which was my biggest worry when Mum left the hospital.
From what I see, the whole team work together to give the residents dignity and care when they need it most.
Thank you to everyone at Skirbeck for taking the very best care of my mum.

The staff and carers provide excellent care for Mum. Although she is unable to leave her bed, she is always happy and comfortable. She has just celebrated her 102nd birthday, and the home went the extra mile to ensure she had a memorable and exciting day.

Can't praise enough!
Caring and dedicated staff who go over and above their job requirements to meet residents' needs. Very clean environment, good food. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities and social events. Only downside is very small individual rooms. Visitors are welcome and
encouraged.

Skirbeck Court has been so good for my relative. The food is good, with choices for each meal. All staff are considerate of her needs. The home is really clean, and the bathrooms are spotless. Management encourages visits by family and friends and arranges events for the residents to join in if they

The staff are wonderful and caring - nothing is too much trouble. The facilities are second to none, and the food is fantastic - lots of choices, and the kitchen staff are kind and helpful, and the residents look happy and well cared for. It’s a relief knowing she is well looked after and a weight off

A wonderful care home- so kind and caring, very clean and homely. The staff are excellent. My mother is very content there. Although bedridden now, she has never had a bed sore. Her diet is good and they always make sure she has plenty of fluids. Activities are excellent there too. The staff ring with
any concerns. As we can no longer care for my mother ourselves, we know she is in such safe hands and we cannot thank them enough.

As I arrived at Skirbeck Court from the hospital, I was immediately welcomed by the manager and staff with a friendly and convivial reception.
Any anxieties I may have had soon melted away by the friendly carers and their wonderful witticism and good humour, and I was thankful and appreciative of (all)
the staff that made my stay comfortable and entertaining.
With all their responsibilities of attending to every resident's personal needs, they always managed to stay upbeat, and in so doing, made me feel upbeat too.
The food was as good as any restaurant and was always served up with a generous portion of good humour and an affable smile.
After a short time, I soon started to feel as if I was in a hotel, but with a myriad of helpers on hand to cater for every need. I was a little reticent at first, but everyone made me feel at home, and any feelings of trepidation soon disappeared by their inexorable charm and witty banter.

Anna

Anna Lewkowicz

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2018

Anna has been the Home Manager at Skirbeck Court since April 2023 having previously held the position at Gregory House. She has worked in the care industry for over 15 years and started as a Carer. Anna is passionate about her role and is dedicated to ensuring that residents receive the highest standards of care.


Anna holds a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and NCFE Level 2 in the Principles of Dementia Care.


Anna is full of energy, she loves to organise parties and sing-alongs with the residents.


Sacha

Sacha Thornalley

Job Title: Head of Care
