    Services NOT included in price are: dentistry, chiropody,
    physiotherapy, occupational therapy, opticians, hairdressing,
    medications, toiletries, clothing, newspapers/magazines.
    During your stay, you may need to purchase additional goods
    and services. If they are able to provide such goods and
    services, they will tell you how much these goods and services
    will cost and they expect that you will pay for these goods and
    services at the time you request them.
    They can accompany loved ones to private appointments,
    however the fee attached to this is £21 per hour. Where private taxi
    services are used for transportation to appointments the cost should
    be paid for by yourself.

My mother seems very happy and content, gets plenty to eat. Gets on well with the staff. Her rooms kept clean and warm. So I am satisfied she is well looked after.

Mum has now been here for nearly 4 years. I feel very lucky to have managed to get her a room here. Over the course of the years, I have found all staff to be caring and professional, mum is treated with dignity and genuine affection. The standard of food is excellent and cleanliness of rooms and public
spaces is very good.
No hesitation in recommending Southfield House.

This is a first-class care home. The staff are professional and caring. The place has just had new heating and decore. My mother has many needs and they were catered for. We moved her, only because we wanted her to be nearer to us. Thanks to all at Southfield House for their care over the last two years.

After a bad experience with my dad's nursing home, this is a joy.
The staff are fantastic, always smiling and when the patients ask for drinks, toilet etc, there is no 'when I get time' or 'after...', it's within minutes.
I really am impressed. Not sure about facilities or activities, I'm not that
involved.

This is the second visit I have made in the last 3 months and I was extremely impressed. Everyone we encountered was friendly, professional and caring towards residents. No one seemed to be hurrying resident sand toileting was done discretely. As a trained senior care giver, I was impressed. I wish
my Nan had been somewhere like this. One of the open lounges was being redecorated and this was being done cleanly and discretely.

My mother is cared for very well. She is kept clean and tidy and the staff take care of all her needs.
Over the tenure of her time at the home, the staff have adjusted her care as her dementia worsens. The staff are generally happy and considerate although at times they appear stretched.
Laundry could
be better. My mother's whites and lights have become yellowed and grey over time and not much attention is paid to spills and staining.

Lovely caring staff who all go that extra mile to help the residents. All very friendly and make sure all are catered for. My mother does not like to leave the home and doesn't relax until she is back in her usual chair. One member, in particular, came to a family wedding to accompany my mother on her
day off. My mother would not have been able to come it she did not offer her help. I can't praise the home enough. Really lovely place.

The staff and care during the day were excellent and we can't praise it enough. The night time care left a lot to be desired.


The help, assistance of all the staff during the day was kind, courteous and cooperative under difficult circumstances. The kitchen staff always helpful and his food was

enjoyed greatly.

Southfield House has been and continues to be the residential care home where my Mum lived until her recent death and where my Dad continues to live. The staff have always been caring and supportive to us all and in particular to Mum who had very special needs. I am really glad that we found Southfield
House when we did. They have been a Godsend to our family.

My uncle fell at the age of 95 and he decided that he was no longer safe at home. Following emergency respite care at a home in Boston, we moved him to one of our choices in his hometown. It was chosen as it was run by The Order of St John Care Trust (a charity as opposed to a commercial organisation)
and it proved a good choice. The downside is that the rooms are small and not en suite, but larger ones do become available. The standard of care is high and it is a bright and airy place set in nice grounds. The food is good and the staff are pleasant and efficient. Uncle, who is not always easy, loved it and would sing it's praises. He was not the sociable kind so did not participate in the activities of which there were many.

My mom went into Southfield House after a spell in hospital. At 90 years old she was very weak and lacked confidence that she could return home. After one week of wonderful care she was able to return home and is now doing very well. Every member of staff at Southfields treated her with the respect
she deserved and couldn't be nicer.

My father spent a week in care at Southfield House. This being his second time, he enjoyed his time there and was very well looked after. The staff are very kind and friendly and very aware of the difficulties with Alzheimer's patients.

My stay was a happy one, the kindness, cheerfulness of staff was wonderful. It didn't matter who you asked to help it was always done with a smile. Food was lovely, also plenty of cups of tea. Thank you everyone.

Dad has been at Southfield House for 3 1/2 years and has received excellent care from the staff who work extremely hard. I do feel bathroom facilities could be improved and bathing more often than once a week. Could do with redecoration and refurbishment. Excellent staff and care though.


1 The staff

are very good but are extremely overworked working double shifts (ie over 14 hours) due to staff shortages which is not acceptable for them or in the care of the residents


2 The property and rooms are tired and require updating/redecorating desperately including the toilets.


3 The garden is only maintained to a low standard.


I feel the Order of St John need to seriously look at what care they are providing or rather not providing to staff and residents alike.

Please be reassured that we do have a full complement of staff and no-one is expected to work additional hours although some colleagues may choose to do so. In terms of interior decoration, we have an ongoing refurbishment programme which will see further bedrooms being upgraded in the coming year. The gardens are tended by our volunteers who will now be supported by our newly recruited handyperson. I cannot fault the care, support and dignity given to my mother by all the staff at Southfield House. Although my mother has dementia when asked if she is happy she never hesitates to say what a good decision it was to choose Southfield House.

When visiting staff are always friendly and welcoming. Any queries on any subject are dealt with in a friendly and efficient manner. My husband has settled in really well which is down to comfortable surroundings and staff treatment. The home is kept clean and tidy with the residents requirements being
paramount.
The food is well prepared and good, usually a choice is offered for all meals. All are served individually in the bright dining room or in residents rooms, assistance is given if needed. I eat with my husband on Sundays and can honestly say I enjoy it every time.

Elaine

Elaine Whittle

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2015

Elaine joined the trust in 2009 as a carer, gaining knowledge and experience within her role, Elaine then became a Senior carer in 2010, sharing her knowledge with others. In 2015 Elaine become Head of Care and after a short while she then became Home Manager at Southfield House.


Over the past ten years, Elaine has developed her skills within Dementia Care, gaining a Diploma Level 3. Elaine retained a Good CQC inspection within her first year of taking her managerial role. Elaine’s passion is supporting residents to live well and advocate for the best care possible. Elaine gained a Chairman’s Commendation for Meritorious Service in 2016.


In her spare time, Elaine enjoys spending time with her family and Red her Labrador, who also visits Southfield House on a regular basis and the residents really enjoy his visits.


Sally

Sally Parkinson

Job Title: Head Of Care

Joined: 2004

Sally has worked for the trust for almost 16 years. Sally was first employed as a night career and after a short while, she became night senior carer, which included organising rotas for the team and carrying out supervisions and personal development reviews. After a few years, Sally's circumstances at home changed and this enabled her to transfer to the day care team. This was a shock to the system as prior to working at OSJCT she was always working nights. It didn't take Sally long to realise this was a positive change and Sally was then able to apply for the role of relief care leader an on to a senior carer role, working her way up to the current position as Head of Care at Southfield house.


Throughout her whole working life, Sally has always worked in the care sector. After school sally attended college and studied childcare and development and then went on to work as a private nanny, in London, Cheshire and Manchester. After moving back to Lincolnshire and having her own family she decided she would like to have a change and work with the elderly.


Sally is passionate about giving the best care possible to our residents ensuring person-centred care is promoted. Sally believes that it is an honour and a privilege to help care for the residents who reside in our homes. Sally enjoys meeting with residents, their family and friends and has developed some great relationships that go beyond the workplace. Sally says that every day is different and that’s part of the joy of working in a residential setting it never fails to surprise! Sally believes that everyone is kept on their toes, there is always someone who will brighten up your day or make you smile and that is so important, after all as Sally always says, "laughter is the best medicine".


Sally Parkinson is married with two children, Jennifer and Sophie, both girls have followed in their mum's footsteps and have enjoyed working in the care sector at different points of their working life. When Sally is not at work she enjoys being with family and her 2 dogs, Bow and Bella who are very spoilt, Sally sometimes brings the dogs into the home where residents really enjoy seeing them and having lots of cuddles, the dogs love it too as they get extra treats.
