Westerley Woodhall had a major refurbishment in March 2024, adding three additional rooms, each equipped with en-suite bathrooms with showers and finished to an exceptional standard.

The Broadway, Woodhall Spa is home to Westerley Christian Care Home. Woodhall Spa is a large village located on the Southern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. It is built in and surrounded by trees which shelter it from East coast winds. Woodhall Spa is midway between Lincoln, with its old Cathedral, Roman ruins and modern shopping centre and Boston, an attractive market town. Skegness and the East Coast are only a short journey away.

Residents are actively encouraged to pursue their own hobbies and interests, both within the home and locally. Residents are encouraged to share in daily family prayers, where possible, but this is not obligatory. Prayers are held each weekday in the mornings and Holy Communion is celebrated monthly.

All rooms are fitted with a call bell and are equipped to recognised standards for residents living with a disability. Residents rooms come with telephones included in the fees and all rooms are equipped with a TV aerial socket and broadband ports, in addition to Wi-Fi available around the home.

Accommodation is provided in single en-suite rooms, however there are 2 double room available for married couples. Residents rooms are located on the ground, first and second floors, all accessible by passenger lift. Westerley provides a spacious dining room and two lounges, one of which has television facilities, and is fitted with a loop system for those with hearing difficulties. The other is a sun lounge, which has a southerly aspect and views over the gardens.

Residents can enjoy the extensive, sheltered gardens, offering the opportunity for relaxation and lawn games.

The level of care my mother received was exemplary. The staff not only made every effort to meet her physical needs to ensure her comfort, they also provided emotional support and reassurance. She was treated with dignity and respect. My family and I were always made very welcome when visiting the home.
Information regarding my mothers well being was always shared in a professional, confidential and supportive way. My mother was encouraged and supported to participate in a variety of activities of her choice and provision was made for her spiritual well-being in this caring, faith filled environment.

Westerley Christian Care Home is an excellent care home that puts the individual resident at the front of its thoughts. My aunties year at Westerley Christian Care Home was very pleasant. She enjoys the activities especially the trips for fish and chips and the visits by the girls to play bowls. The
atmosphere is relaxed and she was able to make fiends and spend time relaxing with them in the conservatory. I thought the staff were very good in their care of her and other residents. Overall an exceptional care home to be well recommended.

I traveled with my Aunt of 93 to see her sister who is a resident of Westerley for her 100th Birthday. We had a very welcoming atmosphere at Westerley, from what my husband and I saw of the care home they are wonderful with their care and attention to the residents. They are very attentive and make
sure all the residents feel involved. I would not hesitate to put a member of the family in Westerley.

My mother came to Westerley for two weeks respite care following a short spell in hospital. Everyone has been so kind and attentive to mum, and to me. She is now fully recovered mainly thanks to the excellent care given by everyone at Westerley. I would have no hesitation bringing mum back in the future.
Thank you so much!

Current Review Score: 7.7 (7.691)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.7 (7.691) out of 10 for Westerley Christian Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.000 for Westerley Christian Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (14 Excellents x 5) + (32 Goods x 4) + (14 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 4

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.691 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Westerley Christian Care Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.8 = 0.441

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
