I have always found all the staff member to be extremely kind and helpful. The food is excellent and very well presented. The housekeepers do an amazing job with the volume of laundry and my husband's room is always clean and tidy. I can't fault this home.

Dad came to Westfield Nursing Home straight from hospital. We were made very welcome right away. The care dad has had since being here has been wonderful. The carers are all very friendly and look after dad very well.

The food is excellent and although dad doesn't always feel like eating the chef

always does him something that will tempt him.

On our first visit, we were made very welcome by the manager and all the staff we met.
We were very impressed with the home. It is spotless, so light and airy. We are so pleased that my brother-in-law has found such a wonderful new home.
Thank you so much Westfield.

My mother lives in Westfield Nursing Home and is always treated with warmth and kindness by all of the staff that work here. She has a high level of medical needs on a 24-hour basis which are clearly being met by the qualified medical staff. The chef and his staff have taken the trouble to speak to
my mother about her diet needs and specially cater to them. She is treated with respect and dignity and is clearly happy with the individuals who care for her who she refers to as her friends. This speaks volumes about the people who work here. The manager, deputy manager and all of the staff are wonderful, caring, thoughtful people and knowing that my mother is in their care gives me comfort and peace of mind. They ensure that the nursing home is well run. I feel compelled to write this statement because I can sleep at night knowing she is receiving excellent care and this is my way of saying thank you to all of the staff.

Now that mum has settled she seems to have improved greatly since her move from her previous residential home. All due to the extra care and nursing she receives.
All the staff and management are very friendly and caring both for residents and visiting families.

My mother had a stroke in January of this year and was also diagnosed with dementia, our world fell apart as your mother is the most precious person in your life.
We did not know where to turn for help.
We couldn't think straight we were told she needed 24-hour care- we live in London - all thoughts
and solutions go on in your mind, no clear thinking.
The hospital suggested a nursing home, oh no we thought, they are the worst places, we want the best.

We visit mum every weekend from London. All our fears about what you hear on how people are treated in a nursing home have gone. Every patient is treated so lovely and as a human, by all your staff- you should be so proud of that. We always see your patients happy and staff welcome us.

Yesterday we met your manager. He helped us with an issue with the council assessment.

Thank you from our hearts to all your team in Boston, your company should be so proud.

We were thoroughly impressed with the standard of care and attention provided to my mother-in-law and the way this was tailored to meet her very specific personal needs. Throughout her stay in the home, we never had any cause for concern and any requests for specific support were always taken on board
and promptly met.

All care homes at the end of the day are bricks and mortar. The difference therefore between the best and the worse care providers can only be the management regime and the staff employed.

The team at Westfield Nursing Home are led by outstanding managers whose professionalism permeates throughout

the staff. Without exception, all the staff I encountered displayed outstanding levels of expertise and competence coupled with dedication and empathy resulting in a provision of care second to none.

I personally would like to place on record my thanks and gratitude to all involved.

I have no worries about my sister's welfare. The staff are very obliging and if there are any problems, they do their best to sort them out. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Care Home.

My father was diagnosed very quickly with a terminal illness and the family needed to find a care home that provided palliative care. I contacted Westfield Nursing Home and from the very first point of contact, the staff were brilliant, caring and professional. My father was always cared for, clean
and tidy. He had a lovely modern room with his own toilet and wash basin, TV etc. The staff provided the care which allowed my father to maintain his dignity as he was a very proud man and were there to ease his passing. Family and friends commented on what a nice care home it was for my father. Thank you.

A review took place on a Friday in October 2015. It was dealt with in a very professional manner. The carers had all the relevant information for the nurse from the hospital. I was impressed by the efficiency of the home, a folder was produced with all the information needed. It's quite upsetting to
hear about mum, but I felt confident that everything was covered by the staff from the home.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.626)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.626) out of 10 for Westfield Care & Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.826 for Westfield Care & Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (76 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 92 Ratings = 4.826

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Westfield Care & Nursing Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
