Collingtree Park is a residential care home in Northampton, with convenient access to the M1 for visitors. The home is set in the beautiful surroundings of Collingtree Park Golf Course and has leisure and shopping facilities nearby. The purpose-built home offers easy, modern and comfortable living, and landscaped gardens to the front and rear which are accessible to residents for fine-weather activities and outdoor socialising.

Collingtree Park provides residential care and support for a variety of needs relating to ageing and dementia. The highly motivated team focuses on the individual needs of residents, with personal care plans for each resident and a range of activities with something of interest to everyone.

Family and friends are welcome to visit anytime and take part in regular relatives' meetings where all ideas and suggestions are enthusiastically received by the General Manager.

Collingtree Park offers respite care which can be pre-booked up to a year in advance. All rooms are fully furnished, with en-suite facilities, and the lounges and dining areas have doors opening onto the lovely gardens.

We would highly recommend Collingtree Park care home to anyone, the care and dignity they show to residents is excellent. My father has settled in well due to the support of all the team, including all the management.

Mum entered Barchester Collingtree Park in April 2020, very much in need of care and support as she had rapidly become less capable in the early part of 2020. Clearly a difficult time under "normal" circumstances, but with the additional uncertainties and demands from the Covid pandemic, it was very
tricky. However, Mum was given extremely good care from day one, and within several weeks began to settle, and some weeks further on began to improve. By July a remarkable turnaround had been achieved, and I have no doubt that this was down to the excellent care she is being given by the whole team at Collingtree Park.
She is now settled, feels "at home", and is now enjoying face to face visits in her room from the family.
Thanks to all staff at Collingtree Park.

My mother went downhill as soon as she entered this home and I don't believe this should happen if the home is the right one.
My mother improved dramatically once I moved her to a nursing home. The experience has left me understanding the importance of making sure the home is right for the individual.
It's
important to look at the difference between care homes and nursing homes. They can be so different as they have different staffing levels so the higher the needs are, the greater staffing levels are necessary.
I phoned daily to get updates from the staff about my mother as she was deteriorating but often found the person who knew the answer was doing rounds so could not talk at the time. There are a few staff who answer the phone that is not carers so waiting for the right staff member was often irritating at a time when my anxieties were high. I felt sometimes I was being a nuisance to the staff not by what they said but by the tone of voice they used toward me.

Mum has been a resident at Barchester Collingtree Park Care for 4 years now and feels that the staff are part of her family. In fact, during this Covid pandemic, they are the ones who have held her hand and given her the hugs I haven't been able to. They've arranged weekly Skype calls and joined in
with the general chat so that it feels like we have a gossip rather than a stilted conversation with an elderly person who can't always understand what is going on, and it enables Mum to interact with a person rather than just a screen.
Mum caught coronavirus last year and the care and devotion the staff showed was second to none. We were fortunate that mum recovered and her Collingtree family were as overjoyed as me.
The home itself is nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The gardens are colourful and easily accessed. Mum enjoys the food and the varied activities which keep the residents entertained. In fact, she is now a dab hand at carpet bowls!
Collingtree for Mum is home in the true sense of the word.

Collingtree has a real family and friendly feel. All the staff are excellent and friendly. My mother has settled exceptionally well in what are the toughest time for care homes. The visiting facilities at Collingtree are excellent under current constraints and the booking system is excellent.

My third stay at Collingtree is like coming home, staff are excellent and welcoming. Everywhere is immaculate on the cleaning side. Catering choice of menu is very good, meals in my room on this visit and the same welcoming staff. Nothing anyone could find fault with. Despite the Covid virus, the staff
kept up their standards. Well done.

We felt so confident with him in your very capable hands. Last week it was time to go, it was his time. Now the pain has gone, no need for endless

My grannie received outstanding care all throughout her battle with Alzheimer's and COVID, from which she sadly died. We were incredibly lucky to be able to celebrate my 30th birthday with her just before lockdown and then a final visit to say goodbye and thank you to her the day before she died in
July. We shall always be forever grateful for the care my grannie and us all received. I personally work in a hospice and I could easily spot that Grannie received excellent end of life care at Collingtree. The staff are so helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The staff so kindly organised numerous Zoom calls with Grannie when the home was in lockdown. It was a massive comfort to be able to see her face and speak to her as well. We can't recommend this care home highly enough! Thank you so much to all the staff involved in caring for Grannie!

Mum had made her own decision that it was time for a care home, being a very organised and strong-willed lady we thought it would be a challenge. My husband and I said we would look into care near us at Northampton. We looked on the internet and contacted 2 homes. One didn't bother to reply, the second

Visited mum under COVID restrictions meaning my wife and I had to plan in advance, follow instructions and meet mum in the garden. Due to the weather, we warned the visit could be cancelled at any time. The process to book a visit was very easy, everything explained clearly. On arrival we were met by
staff outside, the procedure for the visit was explained and we were made to feel at ease. The carer brought mum down to us and then left us alone to sit, at social distancing, and chat to mum for the allowed time period. The carer informed us she would be just indoors if she was needed. It did start to rain as we arrived but they have erected a gazebo and thankfully it wasn't windy or too cold. It was lovely to see mum and see she was being given the best possible care by the home.

Let's face it, no family is happy when one of their senior members needs to have full-time care only a care home can provide. You then discover there are care homes and CARE HOMES. We have experienced both ends of this spectrum. Phone calls full of her desperation to "go home", "I'm waiting for a taxi
to take me home", "Can't talk - must pack my bag", One-time staff finally located her waiting at the lift in an attempt to make a run for it... Very evidently we had not found her a happy place.
Everything changed when she moved into Collingtree Park. Since then my every phone call is upbeat, every Skype conversation reassuring, each garden visit a pleasure - this week we shared a happy half hour in the sunshine, got an enthusiastic welcome, saw her big smile, and met several members of staff. I noticed her face lit up whenever one of them bent close enough for her to see who it was. She really believes she is home. She is happy. She is properly cared for. So her family is happy too.

My mother had been very unhappy in her previous care home in another town where my sister lived. Therefore we were very grateful that my mother soon settled in at Collingtree Park and seemed much happier. She never wanted to be in any care home but at 92 and with dementia she needed 24/7 care and therefore
a care home was the only viable option.
Throughout the year and a half that my mother was resident, the senior staff always showed a welcome and a willingness to engage with us and to build a relationship so that we could discuss my mother's needs and any issues that arose.
Towards the final weeks of her life, the care and compassion shown by the staff to my mother was exceptional. My sister's husband who is a doctor and who is very familiar with hospice work declared to me that he thought the level of care was better than the level of care shown in a hospice! Praise indeed. This was during a period when the Covid virus was around and many restrictions were in place.

I want to say a big thank you to all the staff at Collingtree Park Care home. My Parents moved to the care home last November, they have always been very independent people, but they needed more help, both having dementia. It was important to me to find a care home where they could still be together
living in the same room, they were married for 65 years.
My mother died in May of this year, not from Coronavirus, just from old age. The situation was made worse with Coronavirus lockdown, not being able to see him and comfort him during this sad time. The Carers and all the staff at Collingtree Park Care Home have been absolutely fabulous. We have had phone calls and Skype video calls every week. Although it was confusing for Dad why I couldn’t be there, but to see his face light up when we Skype called was priceless. We have started garden visits and to see Dad happy and chatty has been so uplifting.
So again thank you to the Collingtree Park team for all your hard work.

My uncle lived at the Collingtree care home in Northampton for over five years until his death in May 2020. Before he went there myself and other members of the family went to see several homes in the area and felt none compared more favourably than Collingtree. The whole team of carers, admin and managers
were excellent in all respects. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff very approachable. Any concerns or worries were dealt with in a speedy and professional manner. I would highly recommend this exceptional care home.

Dad went into Collingtree in the early stages of his dementia and the location was great for quiet walks and trips to the bar at the local golf club. As his dementia worsened he was not able to enjoy the surroundings but the staff were brilliant throughout. Always felt that Dad was being cared for and

I would not recommend any particular provider or care home as I feel the responsibility to be too great. I would of course tell of my experiences at Collingtree truthfully. The Resident's meetings can be helpful. Decisions on matters raised should and must be referred back to the resident concerned.

Mum was in the home for a few months. She had come to a new area so it was very challenging for her. All the staff seemed kind and helped her to settle in. The carers always picked up on things that weren't right and sorted things out. Mum also enjoyed the 3-course meals and going into the garden.

I am a registered nurse, qualifying from Sheffield University in 2013. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including surgical care, Intensive Care Units and A&E. The last 3 years I have spent in care home management where I developed my skills as a leader in the social care sector. I joined Barchester earlier this year as a Clinical Development Nurse, working regionally with nursing and residential teams coaching and teaching departments to always achieve the best care for our residents.


I am very passionate about providing a quality experience for our residents and their families. I pride myself on working to a high level of clinical expertise and helping my team to deliver the best care. We promote person-centred care, ensuring our residents are happy and fulfilled during their time with us.

Hello, my name is Debbie and I'm the Head of Unit for our Memory Lane Community here at Collingtree Park. I have had the pleasure of working within the home and caring for our residents here for 25 years. Dementia care is my passion, part of my role is to ensure our residents living with dementia continue to have purpose and fulfilment in their everyday lives. I'm extremely proud of the personalised care our staff deliver, seeing the happiness it brings to residents is priceless.

Hello, I’m Jennifer the Head Chef at Collingtree Park care home. I have been in the Care Home sector for the past 3 years and working in hospitality for 27 years. I enjoy cooking, entertaining and hospitality and have had the opportunity to travel the world with my job. Cooking is a real passion of mine and being able to make and refine dishes to suit different tastes and needs.


My day involves speaking to the residents and finding out their favourite foods and recreating all their happiest memories. Food nutrition is a very important part of the day in a care home and it’s essential to get it right. It gives me great pleasure to see the joy on our resident's faces as they enjoy our cuisine. The kitchen team love to share ideas to constantly keep up with the latest trends to produce some appetising dishes. Getting the right balance is a must! One of my specialities is homemade sweets and treats and I like to express this every day on our morning and afternoon tea trolley.

Hello, my name is Martin, welcome to our ‘Life’ at Collingtree Park Care Home page where you'll find regular updates on all we've been doing, including the events we have planned.


My role is to ensure that our activities, outings and the entertainment we provide is stimulating and inclusive of all our residents no matter their challenges. It is important to me that our weekly calendar offers enriching experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities.


Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends’ meetings we can gain a greater understanding of their loved ones' interests and life prior to joining Collingtree Park that will make for a richer activities program to be developed.


I look forward to getting to know you, and your loved ones.

Hello. I am Tamara, Second Chef at Collingtree Park. I have always loved cooking for myself and have developed my career in food since coming from Greece to the UK.


Collingtree Park feels like a big family - I cook with love, as I would for my own family. I research recipes online and try them at home to get them just right for our residents. I like cooking main courses, making them attractive, hearty and full of flavour. I am already working on menus for next season.


I can adapt any of my recipes for people with allergies or swallowing difficulties, so they can enjoy the same flavours as everyone else.


I also make cakes and other treats for birthdays and events.

Simon Varadi

Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Hello. I am Simon. I joined the Collingtree Park team as a Maintenance Assistant in 2014 and was soon promoted to Head of Maintenance. My main responsibility is to keep the home in full working order. I ensure the décor, furniture and equipment are always attractive, comfortable and safe. I carry out inspections and safety drills to comply with Barchester and statutory policies for equipment and the whole home environment. I manage the maintenance and gardening team and liaise with external contractors. I support residents and families in personalising their bedrooms by putting up pictures and arranging furniture, especially for new residents. In my spare time, I enjoy watching and playing football, swimming and cycling.
