My husband David was in Glenkindie Lodge for 4 years. He died in October. He was wonderfully looked after. His dementia made him difficult but he always looked happy. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, we were always made welcome by the staff. I wholeheartedly recommend Glenkindie Lodge.

Dad arrived at Glenkindie some 4 years ago in the early days of the pandemic. Despite the challenge the care home faced, Dad's admission and care that was provided throughout his time with them was marvellous. Communication was excellent right up until his unfortunate passing. We witnessed the home
improvements; visiting rooms were made more homely, bedrooms upgraded, a variety of activities were offered and you could see that staff were really happy in their work and cared for all the residents. They were also very good at looking after me as I would often become really emotional when seeing Dad's deterioration on my visits. Dad was very a challenging resident when he first arrived and yet the staff took all of his behaviours in their stride and quickly developed a very holistic approach towards managing him. The family are ever grateful for the care Dad received over the years and wants to thank the entire team for his last few years which allowed him to be safe and very happy.

Thank you Jackie, Dad was such a lovely gentleman and is sadly missed by all, as are you and your family, such a supportive caring family to work with.

My mother was a resident for over 2 years, she arrived during covid and passed away in February 2023.
Whilst one could say the care home is not all singing and dancing brand new with ultra-modern facilities, my mother felt utterly at home and the care and love she received from the staff during her
stay was without doubt fantastic. I think the clue is in the title 'care home' and she was certainly cared for. I would have no problem in recommending this establishment to anyone who wishes their elderly relatives to be looked after in their twilight years.

Thank you that is very kind, the staff work very hard and are a great team, your mother was a lovely lady and a pleasure to be part of her life.

My mum has been a resident at Glenkindie Lodge for over a year now. What a difference it has made. She is now living such a better quality of life and for us, as a family, we can see a massive improvement in her all-round well-being. Staff look after all the residents so compassionately and treat them
with respect and dignity.
My mum has formed a really strong bond with everyone here. It has made a difference to our own mental health too, as we all worried about her so much. They are quick to identify anything that is untoward and act immediately. For example, it was evident to them Mum had a U.T.I. A Doctor was called immediately and a prescription was ordered and collected the same day. Just one example of excellent care.
The manager runs and organises her staff team fantastically and all are extremely professional.

Thank you, Elaine, it is very much appreciated, the staff work very hard to ensure all residents are well supported and live as comfortably as possible, I will pass on your kind words.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.829)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.829) out of 10 for Glenkindie Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.0 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.848 for Glenkindie Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (39 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 46 Ratings = 4.848

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.981 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Glenkindie Lodge is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 33 registered maximum number of service users is 6.6. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.6 = 0.606

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
