I was very kindly taken into Linden Manor an Alzheimer's care home, after an unfortunate ankle breakage, for respite, as I wasn't allowed to put weight on my ankle for a least 4 weeks and wasn't able to go home.
I was a little apprehensive as I wasn't quite sure what to expect. I need not have worried
as all the staff where very friendly and kind, albeit the pressure and demands that a busy care home puts upon them serving the needs of patients washing, feeding, dressing and keeping constant attention upon their needs, all this is done with a professional and kind care that is needed and provided.
A special shout out for everyone who remembers me. I wish you and all your kind staff a very happy 2025. The food was always delicious, I miss the breakfasts, also the weekend lady.
Thank you to the carers for the care.

Cannot praise the manager and staff enough for the care given to my father both physically and emotionally. Also the understanding and support given to family members both during his care and his passing. It’s an old house and may not have all the amenities but it is a Home.

My mother has been a resident since October 2022. We considered and rejected many homes before selecting Linden Manor. This is a small and well-managed home and my mother has improved significantly with the outstanding care that she receives. The home is very clean, and carers/staff are friendly and
welcoming, all aware of my mother and her current well-being. Daily activities are varied and frequent entertainment is organised. Family meetings are regular with individual residents' care plans reviewed. Risk assessments are documented. I am delighted with the care provided by this home and my mother feels safe and well looked after.

It's with a sad heart that I am doing this review as my mum passed away in May.
But when my mum moved to Linden Manor from day one, she improved in so many ways. The staff are superb at what they do, making the residents feel at home and the families welcome.
I would recommend this care home to anyone
who is in the sad position that a family member needs a care home.

This is said with a heavy heart that Linden Manor misses you and your mother very much.
It was a true honour to care for her.
She is forever in our hearts.

To have the staff at Linden Manor treat your family members like their own is what stands out for me. Total peace of mind that our aunt is getting the love and care she needs. Everyone there goes above and beyond. It's the staff that make that place a 'home' for their residents.

My sister is a very independent lady and can be very difficult but the staff are really good with her when she gets frustrated and starts shouting and behaves aggressively.

I visited my mother announced on the 9th and 10th of this month. My overall impression on arrival at around 6 pm was very positive. Meet and greet by staff was very friendly, there was a lack of care home "aura", it was clean, bright and welcoming. My mother looked better than she has done for ages,
and for her age, mentally she was in a good place. She said she was very happy there and regarded staff as "family".
Sunday lunch arrived whilst I was there, and congratulations to the cooking staff, the quality and quantity of the freshly cooked food was superb. I live in Spain and having seen where my mother is being looked after, I do not have to worry anymore. Many, many thanks.

After making the difficult decision to put my mother into a care home, I know that she is now safe and well cared for. She is always very well presented and we, as a family, are always welcomed warmly. The staff are all very happy and cheerful and treat every resident with care and dignity.

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.186)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.186) out of 10 for Linden Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.6 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.586 for Linden Manor is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (21 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 4.586

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.6 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Linden Manor is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 registered maximum number of service users is 5.6, which has been reached with 6 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
