I am absolutely amazed what a difference it has made to my 102-year-old mother who moved into this care home in November 2024 after living on her own in a bungalow at a Retirement Village in another county, even with a very extensive care package provided for her she struggled to be happy. She has a
lovely bedroom on the first floor and she is encouraged to stay in the communal lounge with the other residents during the day where she can see everything that is going on around her. She can see the other residents and understands that she is not alone in needing the care and support that is provided by an excellent team of care and support staff and a brilliant manager and assistant manager who are very conscientious and supportive and extremely hard working to ensure that all the resident's needs are met in full at all times.

Mum has now been at Manor House Residental Home for just over 3 years and she has been very well cared for during that time. The staff are absolutely amazing, so cheerful, friendly and caring and mum loves them.
I am always informed if Mum isn't well and any action they are taking such as calling
the doctor. I receive photos when Mum has been involved in activities and it's lovely to see her dancing or being entertained.
It's good to see the home being decorated and constantly improving too.
Overall, a lovely place and I feel secure about Mum living there and having really good care.
Thank you.

As a family, we did a lot of soul searching before we decided it was impossible to look after Mum at home. Her Alzheimer's and dementia were progressing and she had had many falls, not being able to get up again.
Her move to the Manor House for a week's respite care in July 2019 made our decision easier
and Mum moved in permanently in August 2019. Sadly Mum passed away peacefully at the end of June 2021.
The care she received in the two years she was there was second to none, specially during the Covid pandemic when we were unable to visit.
I cannot thank the staff at the Manor House enough for their hard work and dedication to looking after Mum.

My grandad was at Manor House for many years and he loved the place. The carers were great with him, always having a joke and a laugh. Prior to moving to Manor House he had a difficult time with his meds and changed him to a point where it was awkward to be around him. However shortly after moving to
Manor House, I don't know what they did, but he was his old self again and would always have a smile on his face when I saw him. It was tough during covid times as the isolation didn't help, but the home was still great and had no cases in the home.

Dad had Alzheimer’s and he lived at Manor House for three and a half years. I never once regretted my decision. He was always very well cared for and all the staff were kind and considerate. I visited frequently in the early months and I never felt this was a problem. Covid has meant only a handful
of visits in the last 12 months, but I was confident Dad was being looked after. My thanks to all the staff, each and every one of them, the work you do is so very precious.

Current Review Score: 8.8 (8.765)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.765) out of 10 for Manor House Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.833 for Manor House Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (30 Excellents x 5) + (6 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 36 Ratings = 4.833

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.932 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Manor House Residential Home is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 22 registered maximum number of service users is 4.4. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.4 = 0.682

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
