Jane Borland is an award-winning manager who runs Rathgar. Jane has a forward-thinking and innovative philosophy with the residents' best interests at the forefront of the care that is provided. This philosophy resonates to the whole team to provide the best possible care.

Choosing a home was a difficult task, but when speaking with the manager at Rathgar, we knew that's where we wanted our family member to go. The staff are great and show empathy towards all residents. They have a great activated schedule with lots going on. We are glad we found Rathgar Care Home.

An elderly friend of mine had become unable to remain at home so she was admitted into Rathgar. When I visit I witness the staff being very attentive towards all the residents, it always seems like they have a genuine care towards them. Staff are always so welcoming and friendly, it's like one big happy
family and my friend has improved so much even in the short space of time of being there. Keep up the good work!

The service at Rathgar Care Home is excellent. I have come here a couple of times to visit my cousin and each time I've come the service is amazing and all the staff go above and beyond to help. My cousin seems really comfortable here and I feel secure in the fact that she is being taken care of!
The
care home is also well taken care of too. It is clean and has a great quality of facilities. Would definitely recommend it to others.

When my sister had to go into a home due to needing 24-hour care I was devastated as we used to go everywhere together it was like my right arm was cut off, but since going to Rathgar the staff could not do anymore for her. Tending to her every need and making me very welcome every time I visit and
I also join in with the activities, it probably won't be long for me to go into a home and I very much want to go to Rathgar.

My mother has been a resident for the past few months. From the welcome she received on arriving at the home, the continuing care has been lovely. The staff are caring, hardworking and friendly. The atmosphere is calm and the staff take pride in the care of the residents.
The activities are varied,
interactive, and well thought out ensuring inclusion for all.
I would definitely recommend Rathgar to anyone wanting personalised individual care for their relative.

Well I have only 1 month experience as my mother has just arrived there but so far no complaint from me. I feel the staff are all very nice and they play lovely music and do nice things to keep them entertained, my mother has settled in very well so happy daughter.

My Aunt has been at Rathgar for over 3 years now. Finding a home during lockdown was scary. As soon as I called Rathgar I knew this would be the place where my Aunt would be well cared for. All these years later and I am still so happy with the care and attention my Aunt receives. I live a long way
from Rathgar but I am kept up to date at all times with any changes regarding my Aunt's health. This is a great comfort to me knowing I am far away. I don't worry about my Aunt as I know she is in safe hands.

Finding the right care home for my Mum was daunting but I'm convinced I was right when choosing Rathgar.
From my first visit, the warmth and friendliness of the staff was apparent and everyone was happy to spend time with me and answer my questions.
Mum's been at Rathgar for 6 months and I have complete
peace of mind. The friendly, caring nature of the team made it easier for her to settle in and the staff really made a point of getting to know Mum personally, which is very important to me.
Mum participates in lots of the activities, especially Tai Chi and always looks forward to visits by the lady with the animal pets.
Our family are always welcome to visit and there's genuine interest when Mum comes and spends time with us. All the staff ask what she's being doing and where she's been.
Mum's health is also very well monitored and any concerns addressed immediately and communicated to me.
I'm really pleased and lucky to have such a dedicated and caring team looking after her.

Rathgar has now been home to my mum for 3 years. The staff are all outstanding and it is reassuring to me that Mum is happy there. The meals are good, activities are organised i.e. pets are brought in to pet and stimulate the residents, dancers, singers... along with boat trips etc... It was a heart-rending
decision to place Mum in a home, she needed 24/7 care we just couldn't provide. She has never once complained about any staff member and is on the whole happy. When she isn't it is to do with the dementia and not the home. It is a relief to know Mum is cared for so well, thank you Rathgar.

From the first visit with Mum up to when she entered the home (13th of July) the staff have been absolutely amazing! Everyone welcomed her with open arms and made her feel special, either with a lot of kind words and/or a hug. They have been very supportive with me and my family, allaying any fears
and never slow to answer any questions either we or my mum had!
Mum's room is perfect for her, very comfortable and bright with a very handy and smart bathroom. She has made some friends already and enjoys sitting out in the garden under the parasols. We looked at 7 other care homes and Rathgar just felt right (Mum's words and ours).

My mother has dementia, now in its final stages. She has been a resident at Rathgar since 2020 when a fall at home and a hospital stay during Covid left her incapable of returning home to live independently. Since she took up residency at Rathgar, I cannot praise the care she has received highly enough.
The kindness and attention she has had from staff over 4 years has carefully and thoughtfully supported her inevitable decline at every stage, constantly being modified and customised to suit her needs. They kept her engaged with the everyday life of the home for as long as possible and, by their efforts, I have no doubt they extended her active life. Now as the dementia has rendered her incapable of those activities, they continue to care for her in a diligent, respectful and patient manner that speaks volumes for the professionalism of the staff. Rathgar may not be the largest of residential homes, but it is a warm and loving home, and I will always be eternally grateful.

We have been so happy with the wonderful care our mum has received since we decided on Rathgar 2 years ago. It is a small care home and the size of the home was a priority for us. It feels like a home rather than a hotel-like large care homes/businesses. Who needs a hotel when you are suffering from
dementia at the age of 92?
The carers and management are a fantastic team. We are always kept informed both by phone if the staff have any concerns about our mum's condition and on our regular visits to the home. We can highly recommend Rathgar.
