Joined: 2010
Originally joined Shaw Healthcare in 2010 as a Support Worker where I found a passion for working with people living with dementia, especially supporting with keeping humour alive. Laughter will always be the best medicine and I thrive off seeing smiles on our resident's faces. I gained my QCF level 3 in Health and Social Care during this time. I joined Sandalwood Court in 2019 and haven't looked back. I work with a fantastic group of people and I'm proud to be part of the Sandalwood Team.
Job Title: Team Leader
Joined: 2022
I joined Sandalwood Court as a Team Leader in 2022. After around 21 years of care experience working in various sectors and gaining NVQ 2 & 3, I found myself going back to the area I began in. From day 1 the team here at Sandalwood made me feel so welcome. I believe that if you can support someone with even the smallest things and it makes them smile then it makes me happy. Helping others makes me feel I can be part of a team and make a difference.
Job Title: Night Team Leader
Joined: 2014
I joined Sandalwood Court in the position of a support worker in 2014. This was my first role in care and I quickly found that this is the career that I wanted to pursue.
Working on the nights shows you a different aspect of care that most do not get to experience. In 2015 I was promoted to Night senior and in 2020 to Night Team Leader.
I am very passionate about my role here at Sandalwood and I like to lead by example and act as a mentor to those on the night team here. I can often be heard singing along with residents at all hours of the night and as long as it makes individuals feel comforted and safe that is all that matters.
Here at Sandalwood Court, we all work together as a team, a team which I am very proud to be part of.
Job Title: Domestic Supervisor
Joined: 2013
I have worked at Sandalwood Court since 2013 as part of the domestic team. I was overjoyed when I was promoted to the role of domestic supervisor in 2018.
I love my job and working with my colleagues. We are a fantastic team and we are always helping each other out. We all work together to ensure that the home is cleaned to a high standard.
We are always getting involved in different activities to brighten up our resident’s day and this can involve dressing up and getting our dancing shoes on.
I have formed some fantastic relationships over the years with residents and visitors.
I also work as a bank staff for the kitchen here and I enjoy working there too.
We are all one big happy family here and we all work together to make sure everything runs as smoothly as possible.
I have always been a people person and really enjoy listening to the residents talk about their own life stories.
I have really enjoyed my years working here and hope to enjoy many more.
