After working in a care home myself, unfortunately, I had to leave as what I witnessed over time upset me and I vowed my father would never go into one. The time came recently for this to be and I found Bramwell! Perfect in every way! It is more like a hotel than a home. The manager has a fantastic
ethic and is on the ball in every aspect. All staff are kind, encouraging and empathetic, to not only the residents but also to family. My father is happy, therefore I am too!

My mum had a short stay at Bramwell Care Home after leaving the hospital. During her stay, she was happy, comfortable, warm and very well cared for. I would certainly recommend Bramwell to anyone looking for a care home for an elderly relative with dementia.

Before my mum went into Bramwell Care Home we viewed several other establishments and following up on recommendations to this establishment, we were impressed with the overall look and feel, not only of the premises, but to the staff's attitude. Because of my mum's dementia, a proper reflection of what
she had done and participated in only came to light via staff acknowledgement and photos in the activities book. Overall, care and attention to detail by staff was beyond our expectations and we can only thank them for making my mum's last few months what it was.

Mum continues to be cared for as if she was one of their own. The kindness shown is second to none and all carers do their utmost to ensure my elderly mum is comfortable, feels safe, and is stimulated by daily, varied activities. This ethos can only be generated by brilliant management, which Bramwell
has. Recently Mum was admitted to hospital and they spotted the problems early so that she was successfully treated. We couldn't wish for a better home from home for Mum.

The home is absolutely fantastic all round. I visit most days and see exactly how hard the staff work, they're loving and always friendly. I have seen residents abuse staff verbally and physically, including abuse from my own mother, the staff are brilliant at dealing with it. The staff treat the residents
like they're family. The home contact with any update, even when I have visited earlier that day. When my mum first went in the home, she was so pleased to see me, she rushed across her room to see me, fell, and broke her arm, if I wasn't there the staff could have been blamed for not looking after her. I can honestly say every single member of staff in Bramwell is loving, friendly and take pride in their work at every level!

The first time we walked in we just knew we had found the right place. Everything
just felt right and it was spotlessly clean. Staff couldn't be more attentive and the manager is excellent and very approachable manager. Mum and Dad were both residents and had rooms across the corridor from each other
which was lovely for them and us. Mum has recently passed away but the care and respect they have shown to us, especially on the day of the funeral, was exemplary. Couldn't recommend them highly enough.

My mother was unwell and had a fall on a Tuesday. I was informed and it was explained to me that a urine infection had been diagnosed and antibiotics prescribed by the GP. On Friday mother was visited by her sister who was concerned about her presentation. My brother phoned the home on Saturday am.
Staff said that mum was fine and was eating and drinking normally. I visited Saturday pm, and found mum fully dressed, unconscious in her chair. She was very difficult to rouse and was not weight-bearing, (prior to this she was chatting, eating and mobilising with a stick). I discussed this with staff and could get little information, other than 'she has finished her antibiotics'! I stated to the deputy that I would be calling for an ambulance. Paramedics took mum to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with sepsis. She stayed there for 5 weeks, then returned to a different care home. She was never the same and has recently passed. Why did the staff not pick up that she was unwell and unresponsive?

Firstly, we would like to say how saddened we are to receive the news about your mum’s recent passing; our deepest condolences go out to you and your loved ones. During the period of your mother’s stay in October 2022, Bramwell Care Home staff and management ensured that all correct procedures were followed to ensure that your mum’s health was number one priority. The team contacted the GP without delay, followed the correct medical administration procedures and checked to ensure she was monitored regularly. The diagnosis of Sepsis was only made known to the home by the hospital two weeks after her admission. We know this is a difficult time for you, but please know that you may discuss this further with us at any time, should you wish to do so.

My aunt is very happy at Bramwell Care Home. It was lovely to see my aunt taking part in the choir practice. All the people taking part were singing to their heart's content. The activity coordinator put a little bit of the activity on Facebook for us all to enjoy.

I cannot fault the care shown my father in Bramwell Care Home. The staff are genuinely interested in his welfare and go out of their way to see that he has everything he needs. I am extremely satisfied with the cleanliness and hygiene of the building. It can be a depressing place but this is alleviated by the professional but very friendly attitude of the staff. There is always time for a bit of cheeky banter. The rooms are adequately furnished, safe and functional. The food
quality varies but there is always a choice of menu. At times there does seem to be a lack of communication and information between staff leading to changes in the times residents are expecting to get up or go to bed. When difficulties have arisen they have always been dealt with to my satisfaction.

We are so grateful to all the staff at Bramwell Care Home for looking after our aunt during the last two years of her life. Their kindness, compassion and care were exemplary and we consider ourselves very fortunate to have found such a great home. Our aunt, an extremely strong-willed and stubborn woman
- God bless her, always praised them highly for their humour, care and conversations conceding that sometimes she could be a little too stubborn. We received regular communications during her final weeks with us and we find it hard to articulate just how thankful we are to such hard-working and caring people.

Job Title: Receptionist

I'm Kat. I have been a Receptionist at Bramwell for the past 6 months, and I truly enjoy being part of this close-knit and supportive team. I feel incredibly productive and appreciated in my role, and I’ve quickly become familiar with the home’s daily operations. What I love most about working at Bramwell is the sense of family—getting to know both the residents and their families has been a rewarding experience. I'm proud to be part of such a successful and well-managed home, where we all work together to provide the best care.


In my free time, I enjoy playing the kalimba, and I’ve mastered the iconic "Darude Sandstorm" on it—it's a surprisingly useful skill! I also have a background in archery, where I used to compete. My passion for history is reflected in my studies of mediaeval and Russian history, and when I’m unwinding, you’ll often find me playing the guitar or diving into a game of Skyrim.

I am Thoufeek Backer, and I have been a dedicated member of the team at Bramwell for the past four years. Starting my career as a care assistant, I quickly gained the trust and belief of my manager, which led to my promotion to Senior Care Team Leader. In my role, I assist with the day-to-day running of the home, and I thrive on the challenge and responsibility that come with it. I enjoy pushing myself to grow and learn more, and the strong teamwork around me helps me achieve my goals.


I like to keep the atmosphere light-hearted, often joking with the team—though sometimes I end up in a little bit of trouble for it! Outside of work, I enjoy reading books, exploring new experiences, and spending quality time playing with my son.

I am Efa, and I have been serving as a Care Team Leader for the past 1 year and 8 months. My role has been both challenging and rewarding, providing me with opportunities to grow in character, decision-making, and in my interactions with staff, families, and others. I am passionate about making a meaningful difference in people's lives, and I take pride in my work.


As a Dementia Champion, I have been able to lead initiatives that focus on improving care and supporting residents. I am especially proud of achieving the Excellence in Residence Experiences 2024 award, which highlights the impact of our work. However, I do feel disappointed at times when I fail to execute as well as I’d like, but I use it as motivation to improve.

I take great pride in making the residents happy by fixing anything they ask me to do, and I enjoy spending time chatting with them. I appreciate the teamwork at Bramwell, where all the staff work together to create a positive environment. Building relationships with the residents and their families is something I truly value, and I’m committed to keeping the home safe, clean, and well-maintained.

My name is Chacko, and I am the Home Administrator at Bramwell. I have been with the company for 2 years. I find it immensely rewarding to know that my efforts as an administrator contribute to the well-being and quality of life of our residents. Being part of a team that provides peace of mind to families by ensuring their loved ones are well cared for is something I truly enjoy.


I hold two postgraduate degrees from different universities. As a child, I always imagined myself becoming an army officer.


In my spare time, I love going on solo long bike rides and spending time with friends.
