I have been a resident of Copper Beeches since May 2022. Overall, I am very satisfied with my care. I have Parkinson's; therefore, my mobility is limited, and the staff understand my condition and the importance of medication timing. The only thing I am not totally happy with is the variety of times
the staff get me up in the mornings, any time between 8 and 10? Generally, the staff are very good.

Reply from Allen Heath, Managing Director at Copper Beeches

It is regretful that you should feel that way regarding the time you get out of bed, however, you are asked every day about the time you get up, and you get up when you wish. We are not regime or task orientated and we ensure that your individual needs are met fully. You go to bed when you wish and are fully aware of how the call system works. We respond in a timely manner every time you need us and it is just unfortunate that you seem to not recognise the attention given to you.

The turnover of staff is worrying. Hopefully, new management might help. As a daughter of a wonderful 100-year-old lady, I have concerns that the central heating is not working. My other concern is no communication. I need to be informed when there are any problems with mum, not after an event.

Reply from Allen Heath, Managing Director at Copper Beeches

At the time of writing this review, the heating had been working for 2 days, and you had visited during that time. The heating system had a complete failure however we were able to maintain a consistent 22 degrees within the home. Each resident had their own individual heater and the communal areas were also monitored and maintained 22 degrees. Hot water was continually available during this time thanks to our emergency immersion heaters. You were regularly kept up to date with any changes in your mother's condition and we made a special effort to ensure that the care delivered to your mother was of the highest quality. You were kept informed as to the changes in your mother's condition as and when they occurred, and these changes have to be quantifiable i.e. we have to be sure that what we are saying is correct, and that we have taken appropriate measures to ensure the wellbeing of any one individual. To do otherwise has, in the past, caused undue anxiety.

Mum has been a resident now for six months. The care she receives is consistently good. She has a lovely room, and when receiving personal care, she is treated with dignity and kindness. The staff work well as a team and communicate with the family. Mum enjoys all the food, stating it is tasty and varied.
The home offers activities which help Mum's dexterity. Overall, a well-run home with excellent care.
