Five Gables Care Home is a small, well established and friendly care home, accommodating 16 residents, located in Kirkby In Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. Five Gables is a family owned and run care home, having been part of the local community for over 37 years, with strong community links, Five Gables offers quality care with a quality experience. With an excellent, stable and well trained care team all holding NVQ/QCF certificates, as well as mandatory and specialist training, lead by their exceptional, highly qualified and experienced registered manager.

Five Gables is conveniently situated near to the town centre as well as local bus stops, with good bus routes, a train station, a post office, coffee shop and newsagents.

With a 'Good' rating from the CQC (February 2023), achieving a Care Quality Band 5 by the Local Authority - Nottinghamshire County Council and Five Gables is very proud to be a Veteran Friendly Care Home, achieving the required standards set within the Veteran Friendly Framework.

Five Gables care home is comfortable, clean and spacious; as a converted property there are several original features, with beautiful and accessible gardens. Meals are all home cooked with seasonal menus offering choice and variety.

Five Gables warmly welcomed Mum as a new resident and her needs were well understood and consistently met from the start. We felt she was totally safe there. The care and compassion and the warmth of the staff were excellent from start to finish. The low staff turnover demonstrates how well Five Gables
is managed and run. This helped us to have good communication and build trusting relationships with staff including consistent feedback on the care Mum received. Whilst it is not the most modern-looking facility, it has lovely rooms and grounds; is always clean, and is home from home which makes people feel like they’re in their own surroundings. Mum always felt at home there. Compassion and kindness were all around us and all the staff were wonderful with their words and support for us especially in very difficult times. We will be forever grateful and would highly recommend Five Gables as a wonderfully warm place to care for your loved ones when that time comes.

Since my dad became unwell and lost his mobility, he thankfully had to move into Five Gables, and thankfully, he did, as this place is above and beyond for patient care and well-being.
I would personally like to thank all the staff that go above and beyond for my dad all day, every day.

My sister has been at Five Gables for 7 months, and has felt very at home here. I was recommended this home and would certainly recommend it to anyone else, The staff and management are all lovely and very accommodating. I cannot thank them enough. The food is excellent too.

Emma is an extremely knowledgeable and capable registered manager. She joined Five gables in 2008 as a care worker and on completing her L5 Health and Social Management Qualification, Emma was promoted to Registered Manager in 2016.
Emma is forward thinking and naturally caring, advocating for, and championing the rights of residents, she leads by example, nothing is too much trouble and her door is always open.
Emma is quality driven and wants only the very best for the residents of Five Gables. She keeps community at the heart of what Five Gables stands for and continues to create and adapt the home to the changing wishes and needs of the residents she supports.
