The care home is situated in lovely surroundings. It has just been renovated to a very high standard. All rooms have new TVs and en-suite facilities. There are some lovely small lounges and a large function room where residents do daily activities. Food is cooked on-site, so is always fresh with a varied
menu. There is a laundrette and hair salon, a lovely self-service cafe and a garden area. My wife has been a resident for two years, and I can't praise the staff for the loving dignified care enough.

Exceptional care and commitment, especially under this unprecedented COVID condition. Found my dad in good spirits and clean and tidy after not seeing him for 16 weeks.

I have always been very happy with the care and support of my mum, who has been in Maun View for about 6 years. Over the current crisis, their support and communication has been excellent, keeping us informed on a regular basis of events and the health situation of my mum on a regular basis.

My father was placed at Maun view under emergency conditions and it was so incredibly fortuitous as it is a wonderful care home with incredible staff and facilities. I live abroad and it is a huge comfort to know that my father is being taken care of so well when I am so far away. I am very impressed
with the smiling professionalism I have encountered and the general real " care " the residents receive. They were very quick to protect residents and staff during the Covid-19 scare and continue to act responsibly so that everyone is safe. The lovely activity coordinator came in especially on a Sunday for Fathers day so that the relatives could talk to their Father or Grandfather on Zoom. This is just one example of how the staff go over and above at Maunview and I would not hesitate to recommend it as an excellent care home.

Mum has been well cared for by the kind, knowledgeable, consistent staff. They have got to know her well, consider her preferences and work hard to make sure she is content. The new manager is especially experienced and capable, and nothing is missed. They are all proactive in ensuring safety and wellbeing,
and we are contacted promptly if they have any concerns, and we feel able to ask questions. The activities coordinator has got speakers for Skype calls so that Mum can hear us easily while we're not allowed to visit during the pandemic, and she is flexible so that we can speak at a time that suits Mum but also fits with work calls and commitments. We have got to know the staff well in the time Mum has been at Maun View, and they have a genuine concern for her.

My aunt appears to be happy and content at Maun View and is cared for well. The only drawback is the laundry. For example - items of clothing have appeared in her wardrobe which do not appear to be hers. Items of clothing that have been bought for her have disappeared. Sometimes she appears to look
rather unkempt but clean. Perhaps a better system in regards of laundry.

The staff and management at Maun View go the extra mile to provide outstanding care and support for the residents in their care.
My mother suffered a broken hip and following a stay in hospital returned to Maun View. All the staff have taken very good care of her to rehabilitate and facilitate her
recovery and mobility. She has been monitored carefully. Any issues I have ever raised have been promptly dealt with.

Had problems in 2019 and things have improved since then. My mother in law needs assistance with eating and the provision of soft foods. She also needs to be monitored properly so she doesn't have another fall and break as she has had previously.

My mum was in Maun View for over a year. We were given one week's notice to find our mum a new home due to the nursing side closing. We were told that the home would help and support families any way they could. We had no help from them what so ever. Will never recommend Runwood Homes to anyone, disgusted
in the way we were treated. Carers and nurse were lovely and caring but managers at the top, nothing.

With the current national shortage of registered nurses across the country and the impact this is having on the care sector, Runwood Homes Senior Living took the very difficult decision to de-register the nursing beds at Maun View. This decision was not taken lightly by our board of directors and is ultimately about our assurance that we can safely and adequately staff the service by skilled and competent nurses. Given the severe lack of nurses, the nursing provision at Maun View could not continue.
We are sorry that you felt the home didn't support you during this time, we will, of course, take lessons from your concerns.

The staff were excellent.
Re: nursing section - Very unfortunate that some very ill patients who are "compos mentis" are constantly disturbed by dementia patients. Dementia patients have to resort to walking up and down the corridor as there is nowhere else for them. Very sad for both.
Fridge in that
kitchen is missing all door shelves and staff who should be "caring" are washing up. Your cooks have no idea ie liquid or semi-liquid diets, hence need for fridge space.

Having visited other Nursing homes around we decided she should stay here as it ticked every box for us.
We have been able to personalise Mum's room to make it home from home with no restrictions on what can be brought in, this has really helped settle Mum in.
I read somewhere "Our resident's don't
live at our place of work, we work in their home", this sums up everything we love about the place.
Mum is kept safe and comfortable, her care needs are always met and despite her poor health is encouraged to socialise with others. Any questions that we have are answered efficiently and Mum feels at home.
The Manager and Assistant Managers door is always open, they offer reassurance and emotional support if needed.
All of the staff are part of Mum's extended family which helps reassure us we have done the right thing. We know Mum is definitely getting the care she both needs and deserves.
Excellent nursing home run by excellent staff, keep up the good work.

The atmosphere at Maun View is that of a caring and welcoming home with all staff knowing residents in their care and clearly being concerned for their welfare. The care provided is very good with no problems experienced. Any concerns are addressed very quickly. As family we are encouraged to feel at
home and welcome to visit any time. Mum is happy and secure, feeling safe and at home. We all feel very happy that Mum is somewhere where she can and does receive the care she deserves despite not being in the best of health.

Maun View has been the answer to our problems. Mum needed full-time care and came here to be assessed as to her needs. The staff go that extra mile and are all so lovely and caring. Mum is now here full time and enjoys it very much. As I live over 200 miles away it is a great comfort to me that mum
is happy here.

The management and staff at Maun View are very comfortable and caring. The residents are treated with respect and dignity. The residents are kept clean and the food is of good variety and portion size. The care home is always clean and you can go and see your relative at any time and if you have any

My Grandma is a resident at Maun View. The staff are very caring and supportive. When I visit everyone is welcoming and friendly. There is a lovely, calm atmosphere, I especially enjoy taking her to the Cafe where we can have a cup of tea, listen to music and chat to others. My Grandma has dementia
and very confused but staff are helpful and patient. I would definitely recommend Maun View to anyone who is seeking quality care for loved ones.

The atmosphere is friendly and caring and staff carry out our requests when we visit.
However, there is a lack of communication between visits, which is particularly relevant to us as we live 3 hours drive away and are only able to visit every few weeks.

Hello, my name is Nicola, I am Home Manager at Maun View Care Home. I started my caring career in 2007 here as a care assistant keen to make a difference to the lives of others.
I am still so passionate about supporting our older generation, listening to their life stories and achievements, and simply being there to make them smile. I feel extremely privileged to be a part of our resident’s and their families lives.
My aim is to ensure high quality care is provide in the most person-centred way to all of our residents while ensuring our residents are happy and enjoying life in a safe environment.

Charlene Coats Kenzitt

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2006

Charlene is our Deputy Manager. Charlene has worked at Maun View for 18 years and is a huge asset to the building. She is the go-to person for health and care queries and has built fantastic relationships with the
G.P. Pharmacist and other agencies.


Charlene is extremely passionate about resident wellbeing and prides herself on being meticulous in her approach to auditing and action within the home.

Jane Mackenzie

Job Title: Home Administrator

Joined: 2016

Jane is our Home Administrator. Jane is the person who will deal with any paperwork, contracts, finances and correspondence. She can be found tucked away in her office behind the reception desk whenever you should need her.


Natalia

Natalia Taylor

Job Title: Housekeeper

Joined: 2016

Natalia is our Housekeeper. She has worked at Maun View since 2016 and has successfully taken on many roles in that time. As Housekeeper, she is meticulous and manages the domestic team effectively to ensure our home is always spotless and inviting.


Her approach is one of kindness and she can never do enough for relatives and residents, with their experience at the heart of everything she does.
