My father has been in care for four weeks now and has been looked after very well. At 99, it is a big change and being very independent, he is taking a while to settle. The staff are very caring and sensitive to his needs and those of the relatives as well, which is really supportive. We are glad that
he is safe, secure and comfortable. The visiting regime is very flexible and visitors are made welcome. St Peter's is a lovely home - beautifully decorated and furnished. We are grateful to all the staff for caring for dad and giving us peace of mind.

I go once a month to provide a Christian act of worship with the residents. We sing, they join in - residents and staff.
The staff are friendly, welcoming. They obviously clearly care for the residents. The residents appear clean, satisfied with the staff and surroundings. It appears a happy home.
I'd certainly consider going there!

St Peter's care home is a warm, homely, comfortable and caring environment for our 96-year-old mother.
Mum has mixed dementia and various other physical disabilities and impairments.
We reached a point a year ago when mum could no longer live independently.
We feel truly delighted that Mum came to
St Peter's at that point. We feel that she is well cared for, safe, secure, respected and indeed loved.
Thank you so much, all of you at St Peter's for all you are doing.

I like the atmosphere at this home. The main rooms are decorated in an interesting way, that reminds the residents of a different time and place.
I visited the music room, with records and guitars, which would have reminded the residents of their youth.
I also visited the 'Seaside' room.
I have seen
this at the home where my late father lived for three years and I know that this stimulation does boost attention in the residents.
Also - the staff talked directly to my aunt which is certain to have made her feel better.

My mother has now been in St Peters Care Home for about 9/10 weeks. She settled in straight away but it took me longer to get used to the situation. I am now very happy with every aspect of my mothers care, the staff are lovely, really caring, kind and always pleased to see me when I visit (regularly)
to talk about my mum. I certainly have peace of mind that she is being very well cared for and in the best place.

The home is 'cosy' and like being 'at home'. The staff are all extremely kind and caring treating residents with dignity and respect.
the residents are allowed to move about into the several different areas within the home to watch the tele, do puzzles or just chat.
If you have any concerns they are
happy to talk things through with you.

Current Review Score: 8.1 (8.094)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.1 (8.094) out of 10 for St Peter's is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.2 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.193 for St Peter's is calculated as follows: ( (35 Excellents x 5) + (11 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 57 Ratings = 4.193

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.901 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Peter's is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 38 registered maximum number of service users is 7.6. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 7.6 = 0.526

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
