Barnby Court Care Home is an award winning family-run care home who genuinely care. The dedicated and long-serving team of friendly carers are tirelessly committed to the wellbeing and happiness of residents' lives. Barnby Court is a small home with a big heart.

Ashall Care believes that people should be encouraged and helped to continue the life they have always lived. Maintaining an individuals right to choose is the foundation of their wellbeing and promotes happiness and contentment throughout the home, not only for residents but for the families and staff too. From here, the team can do wonderful things to enrich the lives of everyone who lives here.

Barnby Court has 23 bedrooms, all of which have a sink within; they are individually and tastefully decorated. Externally there is a beautiful enclosed garden with seating. An active lifestyle is encouraged and a varied activities programme tailored to individual interests is offered.

The home is located centrally within Barnby Moor. There are good road connections an the home is easily accessible from the A638 and A1. It is approximately 3 miles north of Retford.

Barnby Court has a 'Good' CQC rating (December 2020) and is a band 4 Nottinghamshire County Council Quality Rating and has a top band 5 Food Hygiene rating (March 2023).

Dad came in as an emergency when the home he was in closed suddenly and without notice.
He was supposed to be staying on a temporary basis but we decided to leave him as a permanent resident as he settled quickly and the home atmosphere and environment are great.
Staff are super friendly and helpful
and there are no restrictions on visiting. I am lucky to have found somewhere so great!

All the staff are very welcoming to us, offering us refreshments on arrival.
They are very caring of my auntie (aged 93 years) and look after her physical needs and emotional well being extremely well.
My auntie is extremely happy at Barnby Court and we have always been very pleased with her care,
the facilities and the high standard of cleanliness of the home.
The rooms are delightfully decorated with seasonal displays to add interest and pleasure for the residents.

The staff are very friendly, very helpful and very caring.
They are always prepared to go the extra mile to help with anything. the manager has been extremely helpful to us when dealing with social services and she is always there with help when dealing with anything in the home.
Highly recommended.

Care was required at short notice for our father and the staff pulled all the stops out and our father was made comfortable there within a few hours. They also supervised solutions to many of the problems he has been experiencing. We definitely now have peace of mind knowing he is being cared for 24/7.

This is our second visit, the first was for respite, the second permanent for mum who has Alzheimer's. The welcome and warmth of staff are exceptional. The care and professionalism for all including the family and my mum make everything seem ok and relief that mum is somewhere that cares.

I am extremely happy with the care that is given to my mother. I no longer have to worry about her health or safety. She is in safe hands. She is very happy with her life here and is content to spend the rest of her life here. The staff are brilliant and nothing is too much trouble for them. She has
a lovely room and everything is very clean. The choice of food is very satisfactory and well presented. Definitely the best home she could have.

My mother-in-law went to Barnby Court Care Home on 15th December 2016 she had been moved from another home and when we arrived at Barnby Court they had an emergency to cope with but we were made extremely welcome and dealt with very well. Previously I had been to look at the home and the manager answered
every question in detail and I was impressed immediately. The Christmas party was excellent with all the staff joining in and making the residents day very enjoyable. Since leaving there my mother-in-law has found a new lease of life and loves it. This is due to the excellent standard of care provided by all the staff. Wonderful.

I am very happy that my mum is in Barnby Moor Care Home. I know that she is in the care of lovely staff who put my mum's best interests first. The home is always friendly, a home from home atmosphere as soon as you walk through the door. The food always looks delicious and mum's room is very comfortable.
I cannot imagine my mum being as happy anywhere else.

From day one the management and staff have been absolutely fantastic, both with the client and I. On first arriving the client was made to feel welcome and safe overnight, he settled very quickly indeed. I wouldn't have any queries about using the care home for any of my family if needed.

Mags has gained many years’ experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives.


She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Mag aims to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Barnby Court.
