Set in the idyllic countryside of Lambley, Nottingham and close to the award-winning Gedling Country park, Nottingham Care village has undergone a multi-million-pound refurbishment program.

The home, with state of the art decor, has 58 en-suite luxury bedrooms. There are several spacious lounges and smaller dining areas where nutritious meals are provided to suit residents individual tastes.

Residents can relax in the sun lounge or enjoy a quiet read in the library. Residents can also enjoy being pampered in the hair salon and beauty treatment room. Their inner courtyard gives residents the chance to relax in the sun and the surrounding gardens with raised flower beds; and patios offer the change to enjoy seeing the local countryside.

The professional staff provide Person Centred Care along with a daily activities programme. Respecting and maintaining the dignity of residents is important and staff welcome advice and visits from family members at any time. In addition to offering residential care, respite, day care and holiday cover, dementia care is offered.

After a cataract operation, my 94-year-old Auntie spent a week of respite care at the Nottingham Care Village. She loved it! She returned to her home today with very mixed feelings, continually chatting about the wonderful holiday that she has had. She loved the food, the country outlook, the exercise
class in a morning, the care, the lovely kind and friendly staff but who also afforded her respect, dignity and understanding. She enjoyed the walks outside, the other residents who chatted and the welcoming feeling her own visitors were greeted with. What more could we ask for? Thank you to all concerned for making a week being cared for, feel like a holiday!

I am very satisfied with the care and support my Aunt receives from the staff at Nottingham Care Village. The food is excellent. The staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable about the patients. The rooms are very well appointed and kept very clean. The laundry service is very good. My Aunt is
very deaf and has very limited sight owing to macular degeneration so cannot partake in many activities but the staff try to keep her entertained. As she always receives visitors in her room because of her hearing problems, I have not seen all the facilities.

I suffer from anxiety and depression and was a resident for one week only to give my wife some respite.


All the other residents were here because of age or/and infirmity and so I was unusual in that respect.


In my view, this establishment is above average and I would certainly recommend it and

the beds are very comfortable!

It is pleasant to be at Nottingham Care Village. The public rooms are clean well decorated and homely. The food is good and the staff are very approachable.
Two concerns:
Food is offered in too close intervals, Breakfast at 9:30 will be followed by lunch at 12 - 12:30 then dinner at 5 pm.
There are
crafts and games on a table in the lounge they are never touched. The staff do a good caring job, but they don't engage with residents enough. Perhaps they could play cards/do a jigsaw/ organise bingo? Something to stimulate them.

I can confirm that all meals at Nottingham Care Village are offered to suit individuals personal preferences. Breakfast is available from 0700 a.m. onwards and lunch is available from 1215 p.m. onwards. We recognise that all our residents have personal preferences and therefore we give them the choice of time to have breakfast, lunch etc. and also where they wish to have their meals. For our residents who wish to have dinner in the evening, we are happy to accommodate this. Our Person Centred Care package fully supports the individual preferences of all our residents. I can also confirm that our staff do engage in board games with our residents. We have an Activities Co-ordinator who will offer a range of activities for our residents. We will endeavour to meet the personal preferences of our residents with regard to activities as much as possible. Additionally, we engage the services of an outside company to provide activity courses for our residents.

My 95-year-old mother is happy in this care home, she has always been very independent with help from the family and warden aided accommodation until May last year when she was admitted to hospital. As a family, we looked around several care homes and this home appeared to tick all boxes. My mother
initially came for one day to see if she liked it and then had a trial week. She has not looked back. She chose her own room which is light and airy. She mixes well with many of the other residents and enjoys the food and security of someone on hand to look after her especially on the days she is not 100%.

I visited a friend in Nottingham Care Village and had a very warm welcome by management and staff, offering drinks and cake before I sat down.
A lovely clean, fresh, homely home.
Staff were exercising with residents sitting in armchairs and when an individual asked for help, the carers dealt with
the request immediately.
A lovely secure place to live.

Within days of our mother staying at the Nottingham Care Village we noticed the anxious worried look had disappeared from her face. She began to put on weight and generally just seemed to be more relaxed. Her room is lovely with a bright open aspect and wonderful decor. The care village has an extensive
garden area with seats to sit in the sunshine and on cooler days a warm and inviting conservatory area. I have been told that my mother has been enjoying the meals and she was very excited to be going on a boat trip which the activities co-ordinator had organised.
Needless to say now that our mother is receiving the care she so dearly needed it has taken a huge weight off our shoulders. We can go and take her out for the day and not worry about leaving her on her own any longer as there is always a group of residents for her to sit and chat with as we finish our cup of tea with her and take our leave. Well done to all the staff and thank you so much from all of our family.

Preeminent in its attributes is the professionalism of all the staff Residents are treated with dignity and respect at all times. The care staff enjoy the confidence of the residents for their expertise and compassion. A wide choice of top quality food is prepared --although the cooks are hampered by
the lack of a grill in the kitchen. Our individual rooms are havens of peace and tranquillity _but help 24/7 is only a buzzer call away.-furnishing is of high quality and easily accessible but most important of all a good night's sleep is guaranteed in the oh so lovely large bed. Activity provision is poor -there are simply insufficient residents to put on a programme and the coordinator is deployed as a career. I have also commented that value for money is satisfactory this is a business with shareholders interested in the return on capital investment . Until a full year's accounts are filed it is impossible to say whether the value for money Is fair or not.

My mother was one of the first few residents. She had slight dementia and had been neglecting herself prior to admission. She chose a lovely room and enjoyed the care and attention she received. She particularly enjoyed the freshly prepared food. Soon after her taking up residence she became terminally
ill with cancer and we could not have asked for better care. In her last weeks, the staff supported us as well as my mother and mum felt safe there.
One aspect of the home that we did find a chore and have communicated regarding this to the management, is the electric gate at the end of the drive. To have to get out of the car to use the intercom and then return to the car to drive in was time-consuming and irritating, particularly in the rain. That said Nottingham Care Village was a haven for my mother at her time of greatest need.

All the staff are warm, welcoming and will always go out of their way to please, they seem to genuinely care about my grandparents and always take time out to play games with my grandma to help her dementia, the facilities modern, clean and hygienic with a conservatory, reading room, communal room,

This review is written from the basis of being a churchwarden, not a Vicar. By invitation, I first visited the Care Village at the Grand Opening in July, a splendid occasion, formally opened by Rt.Hon.Ken Clarke MP. The visit included an opportunity to tour the complex, looking at the facilities and
accommodation. Subsequently, I was invited and arranged for 27 older members of my church to attend a coffee/cake morning and again appraise the facilities. My visits have continued on a weekly basis to spend time with one of the residents.
Therefore, my views are expressed on the basis of being a visitor. The decor in the bedrooms is in excellent order, with complementing furniture, curtains etc. The ensuite facilities are ideal for elderly residents. The public areas are equally welcoming, including dayrooms, conservatory and outdoor seating. The quality of food is very high and the staff are extremely professional and welcoming. The whole ambience of the complex exudes quality and care.

My father-in-law has been in the Nottingham Care Village since it opened, we have found him to be settled and always speaks very highly of the care given to him. We the family have always found the staff to be friendly,polite and professional. They always inform us of any problems they may have with
my father-in-law as he's not the easiest person to care for.

I have worked in the care sector since 2003, during this time I progressed form Care Assistant, Senior care, Deputy role and in 2018 to the Home Manager role. I am very passionate and believe that person centred care is key. I have managed large services in both residential and Nursing and promote an open door policy for both Residents and Staff in the Home. We have fantastic and caring staff at Nottingham Care Village and I am proud to be part of the team.
