Sutton Court Residential Home has a relaxing atmosphere that is also ideal for quality care to be practiced, suited to each individual.

It sits in beautiful landscaped gardens and also has an enclosed inner courtyard that has been specifically designed for relaxation where residents and families can enjoy peace and security.

Residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible but assisted where difficulties occur, ensuring privacy and dignity are respected at all times.

Ashmere Nottinghamshire are offering all long term residents an opportunity to design their own bedroom. A show bedroom is located on the first floor of at Sutton Court where residents are able to view a wide range of carpets, paints, soft furnishings, fabrics and furniture which are available for them to choose from should they decide to take a room in one of their Nottinghamshire homes on a long term basis.

I attend roughly monthly for daycare.....I chat to the other residents, have my hair done and stay for meals. The communal areas are well furnished. The hairdressers are very well equipped and the hairdresser is lovely. I enjoy sitting in the pool lounge watching the swim lessons and looking out
over the courtyard. It's a very friendly homely environment whilst providing a high-quality environment.

I have enjoyed my stay here. I knew on the first day I would like it here. The place is excellent. I would recommend it to everyone. I have been treated very well, everyone has been very good to me. It is like a first class hotel. The place is beautiful, the meals are beautiful. I have enjoyed every

My mam was transferred to Sutton Court in August 2916 after her previous home was closed down. From that time she has been very happy, although she has dementia she accepts all the carers and staff as her friends, they have a bit of banter with her and has always get a smile. She had a little fall a
few weeks ago and went to hospital and the staff showed great concern for her and were happy to see her back after a long day at A & E.
I think it is a really welcoming place and have no worries about her being there.

The carers were very obliging and all other staff are very helpful. Bedrooms cleaned every day as I have a skin complaint and my room was vacuumed every day.
Breakfast you had an excellent choice of cereals and cooked breakfast. Choices at dinner and 2 at tea time.

I like living here it's a lovely place everything is done for me. If I want anything I have only have to ask and it's there. The staff are very kind to me and care for me well. I like my bedroom it's nice and bright and clean everyday. My clothes are kept nice and clean and come from the laundry daily.
I enjoy my meals and the food is very nice.

Very positive experience at Sutton Court, care staff very pleasant and helpful. Seniors and manager always willing to help and advise us. OT, physio and diabetic team also worked hard to get my mum mobile again. Bit of a slow start over new year period but great effort when normal hours returned to.

Not enough staff for number of people in, people that are paying are giving way to the hospital patients coming in or respite. A lot of sensible people are having to mix with dementia people instead of separate toilets. Regular residents have two seats instead of keeping same places where they know
each other.

I was very disappointed and saddened to see this review from one of our residents. We have more than adequate staff in the home at all times.
Although the home accepts both NHS and privately funded residents, we do not accept residents with advanced stages of dementia in order to ensure that residents have a stimulating environment with like minded people.
Residents who have a preferred seat in the dining room are reserved the same seat every day if they like too.

There is not enough room in the dining room which causes a lot of unpleasantness and anger. This is not a good atmosphere for eating our meals.

I was very disappointed to receive this opinion from one of our residents. Our dining room has more than enough seating for all residents and residents are reserved a favourite seat on a daily basis if requested. Steps will be made to ensure that Barbara feels more comfortable during meal times.

My wife is very happy here, is well cared for and I have no worries about her care. I wish the two main rooms were bigger because they are overcrowded at meals and lounge. Apart from that I am very satisfied with the home and it's management.

Paula Jefford

Job Title: Manager

Joined: 2000

Paula has worked for Ashmere for over 20 years and has been promoted through the ranks. She is the most highly qualified manager within the group having achieved her social care level 7. Paula has also achieved the converted Dementia Quality Mark at Sutton Court.


She has managed two of the homes on the Nottinghamshire site and was promoted in 2021 to be the manager of Sutton Court (the biggest of the Ashmere Homes).
