The home is purpose built and situated near the centre of Sutton in Ashfield making it ideal for local amenities. The home specialises in Dementia care along with caring for the younger physically disabled offering long and short term care as well as facilities to provide day care.

Staff have a great deal of experience in maintaining a calm and pleasing environment which is beneficial to good mental health, with up to thirty-nine residents all receiving a personal service.

Activities play a big part in the home and on offer there are a wide range of events catering to each individuals needs. Some examples include: baking, arts & crafts, gardening, exercise, life skills and pet care. Other specialist therapies are also available. These can include reminiscence therapy, doll therapy and complimentary therapies. The home also has its own sensory room.

There are two other Ashmere care facilities in close proximity which allows for a greater versatility and sharing of care expertise.

After 3 years, the resident has settled in well. I visit her on a weekly basis and I am surprised that whoever she comes into contact with at the care home, the staff all know her by name and interact with her in a friendly and caring way, as such, she loves and soaks up all the attention given, so
much so, she is everyone's friend.

The staff at Sutton Lodge are very caring and supportive of all our family. From the maintenance up to management. If anything happens or problems occur they are very prompt at contacting the family immediately. Overall very happy with my father's care at the home.

Overall I believe the care is very good. The staff seem to really care about the residents.
Dad has recently had a couple of falls and this is not something new. He is unsteady on his feet and the care staff believe his shoes are too big, however I believe this will happen again even with the correct
size shoes.
The case has been referred to the falls clinic in January after a fall and we have heard nothing, he has had several falls since.

Dad has been in the lodge for almost 18 months and been very well cared for.
All the staff have been very friendly towards all the family.
We've found the senior carers to be very approachable and understanding.
The cleaning and kitchen staff are brilliant too.
Overall no complaints and very happy
with him being there.

The care given by staff to our Mum has been 100% over the past 10 years in Sutton Lodge. Since the new manager has been here, no communication or compassion from this person as no people skills with residents' families. This home has been our family until the changes in the last few months. We have
always rated this care home at a high standard but unfortunately not anymore.

There is always something going on to keep residents occupied and stimulated.

It is never easy to to have to place someone in care, but due to their cognitive decline and becoming a danger to themselves it became necessary. Although Mother doesn't really understand where she is (sure she thinks she is on holiday) she is now living her best life, and we know she is cared for well
and she is in safe hands, the staff are amazing and genuinely caring, the facilities and activities are great too, thank you Sutton Court and all the staff for looking after my mum in the way you do.

I cannot praise the staff at Sutton Lodge highly enough for the care they show not only my mum but all of the residents. Today I spent some time in the home visiting, and despite the challenges, the staff showed how truly caring they were, with nothing being too much trouble. My mum has been there seven
years now, and it really is home-from-home, especially with the cat around.
Each resident is treated as an individual, time is taken to make them comfortable and happy, and the staff are always smiling and chatting. As a family, we cannot thank you enough.

We do have more ancillary staff during weekdays, such as the hairdresser, activity coordinator and home manager and receptionist, so unfortunately the weekends can feel a little quieter, and it may take longer to answer the phones and doors. However, we find that the weekends are when most relatives like to visit.

My mum was in Sutton Manor since October 2020. She was moved to the Lodge in the spring of 2022 as her need had changed and she was very restless. Since being in the Lodge mum has really settled down. The staff are wonderful with her and have lots of time to give. As a family, we are very impressed
and are happy for mum to be there. They provide lots of entertainment and comfortable surroundings and the food looks great too. We love taking mum to the tearoom that was built in the covid period so residents could still have visits from family and friends.

My experience of Sutton Lodge is of a caring, friendly home providing decent size rooms, excellent meals with plentiful activities to suit all states. A good level of carers always seems to be at hand to attend to the many issues relating to the elderly residents. My mum has settled really well and
talks of Sutton Lodge as her home. I really don't think we could have got any better care home than this.
