Sutton Manor Residential Home is a lovely welcoming home well suited to the needs of forty-five residents, with some dual occupancy rooms also available.

Carers look to maintain a good social atmosphere while encouraging residents in the pursuit of an active and fulfilling lifestyle, with all dietary needs met and evening events that relatives and loved ones can join in with. The activities coordinator offers a wide programme ranging from gardening either outdoors or in the greenhouse, knitting, sewing, craft, games and movement to music. Should residents require a little pampering, there is a hairdressers and chiropodist.

Pets are welcome in the home. Current pets include Snowy & Lilly the rabbits.

Shorter respite care requirements are also handled by skilled carers, while Sutton Manor is an excellent environment in which to feel at home throughout a retirement.

Thank you, Sutton Manor, for giving Mum a new lease of life coping with her illness. Though I haven't been able to be in the home, I have watched her blossom every week in the tea rooms. I would like to give one member of staff a special thank you. But all the staff are amazing.

It’s lovely to see how happy my mum is and she talks about her new friends all the time. She always looks clean and cared for. I cannot thank you enough. The garden pub is brilliant and the idea to meet up in these difficult times is too. When she appeared on Xmas morning with a great big pudding on
her head, it made my day - brilliant. Thank you again.

My mum was in Sutton Manor for approximately 5 weeks earlier this year following a fall. During her time there, the home managed to lose her dentures, her glasses and most of her clothing. She fell whilst in the home and was admitted to hospital, not due to an injury sustained as a result of her fall
but due to her being dehydrated. The manager phoned me and asked me to pick mum's belongings up as they could not keep her room open for her whilst she was in the hospital, which I understood. However, on looking through mum's belongings they had returned I noted that her dentures and glasses were missing together with most of her clothes. My mum is a size 16/18 and clothes that were returned were size 10/12. I went to the home to speak to the manager about the missing dentures and glasses and she was totally unaware, all I got was a shrug of the shoulders. To date, I have not received an apology or an offer of compensation for the loss of her belongings.

Mum has been at Sutton Manor for five years now. She is very settled at the home and enjoys many of the activities on offer. She joins in with most things and has even been out on a couple of trips which is something we find hard to persuade her to do. Staff know her very well, and are kind, caring
and love to have a laugh. They do such an amazing job, and it is clear they care about the residents in their care. Mum enjoys getting her hair done and always says 'yes please' to the chocolate snacks! The environment is homely, has a family feel even though its residents are often changing and it is always clean. The outdoor area is comfortable and attractive, though we don't get Mum out there very often. Social dining helps residents chat with one another and if we are there at mealtimes we often get offered a cup of tea! There is a great variety of menus, and food always looks appetising. Mum's room is cosy. During the Coronavirus pandemic, staff went above and beyond in their efforts. Thank you.

I am really happy with the treatment my father has received since being in care. The staff are pleasant and nothing is too much trouble, they always answer my questions about Dad and are devoted to his needs, picking up early signs of distress and illness. I have had a long, 3 month, residential period in this care home, non-weight bearing on left leg due to a bad fall. The care, understanding and needs have been excellently met and I have no complaints, just gratitude. I am now on my feet with mobility aids and wheelchair, which I needed before the accident
- due to long term mobility problems.

Mum has been so well looked after and cared for. Her room is lovely and has everything she needs, from a walk-in shower to a walk-in wardrobe.
The staff have been so friendly and attentive and responded quickly when she wasn't well and had to go into hospital.

The staff are very caring and compassionate. Residents are treated with care and are given all the help they need, nothing is too much trouble for any staff member whether cleaning, catering, nursing or personal care. Family and family are made very welcome and there are lots of activities for the residents
to take part in if they wish. The reception lady was lovely and I really liked the garden area open to residents.

I cannot praise everyone at Sutton Manor enough! My grandad visits the home for day care and respite services. He loves spending time there, and he is spoilt rotten from the minute he gets in the door!
The staff are amazing with all the residents and will go out of their way to make sure they are happy
and have everything they need or want. They always have a smile and make a fuss of visitors.
Sutton manor is welcoming, clean, homely and happy, and nothing is too much trouble.

My husband's Uncle recently passed away and we had to go to the home as my husband was the executor of his Uncle's will to finalise details. We were met by the manager, initially, when we arrived. Prior to this, they kept us informed of Uncle's condition and were very caring and considerate. All of
the staff we met when we went to sort out arrangements were lovely. Their compassion was obvious. The home appeared to have a sense of calm and is very well maintained. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care provider to anyone. Well done everyone - keep up the good work. You are all a credit to your profession.

From the moment my father was admitted, at 9.45pm (having waited for funding to be put in place) on a Monday evening. Bother he, myself and my brother were shown kindness, thoughtfulness and respect right up to the last moments of his life. The care that was shown was for my father true 'Peace of Mind'
and for myself and brother. From the manageress, through all member's of staff, there was a warmth and feeling from the moment you stepped through the door, that if it can be, it will be, and it was. To say thank you can seem a small gesture, but when it comes from the heart, as it does from me, thank you for being you!!

The manager and staff at Sutton Manor go over and above simply basic care. They show such kindness and thoughtfulness. We cannot thank them highly enough for the care they are giving our relatives. Nothing is too much trouble. Their patience and empathy show through in all aspects of care provided.

From the manager to every level of the team, everyone was kind, thoughtful and professional. My father was 'end of life' so only there 10 days, yet he was so well cared for. As the end grew close the personal care given was outstanding. When Dad died (1.45 am) the team leader on duty was amazing. They
helped my brother and I enormously and showed my dad the greatest of respect. A clean, happy, bright place to be in and visit. So, all in all, a care home that cares!

Mum went into Sutton Manor in early April and we could see immediately that it was such a caring environment. It seemed so much better than other homes we had visited, very clean, good food, comfortable accommodation and the manager and staff so lovely and approachable.
Mum enjoyed the many activities
and I just can’t say enough about the excellent standard of care she was given.
Unfortunately, Mum’s health deteriorated after a few months and after the last admission to hospital we were told that End of Life care would be needed. The manager had no hesitation in Mum returning to Sutton Manor for them to undertake this. For the next few weeks, Mum was given the best possible care with comfort and dignity. Likewise, when the end came the dignity and compassion given to Mum and family could not have been better.
I have no hesitation in highly recommending Sutton Manor and a huge thank you to the manager and the team.

My 89 year old aunt was admitted to Sutton Manor Residential Home to recover from two falls. Her health, general well-being, contentment and feeling has improved to such an extent that herself and family have decided that Sutton Manor is her forever home.

Karen is the registered manager of Sutton Manor, part of the Ashmere Notts Group. She has worked for Ashmere for well over a decade but has previously worked a multitude of care roles before her arrival with us. Karen believes that laughter is an important part of the home and strives to bring a joyous atmosphere to the home each day.
