Lever Edge House is a purpose-built care home, created to best compliment a highly skilled team offering excellent residential care. This home also boasts fantastic dementia care.

Carers offer residents and their families the support they need during what many find some of the most trying times of their lives. Families are truly grateful for the personal support they receive, when faced with one of life's very difficult decisions and the team pride themselves on continuing that support to residents and their families from the moment they contact the home throughout the whole of their stay and beyond.

The approach to care is simple - look after the person and not the ailment/condition alone - Carers want to get to know their residents and their families, thus enabling them to look after the whole person and not just to concentrate on the task in hand. Staff get to know their clients, who they are, who they were and how they have come to be at the home.

Carers get to know their families too and like to understand the dynamics within the family setting and how best they can support these as they build a relationship of trust. We have always been made welcome when going to see my husbands auntie (which is every other day). The staff are very friendly and obliging. They look after the residents very well and genuinely seem to be fond of them and will talk to them like family. Our auntie is always clean and dressed nicely and
has settled since going into Lever Edge in January. We feel settled in knowing she is being well looked after. The staff put on varied entertainment which is excellent.

My mum has been here for around 3 weeks. So far I have been really happy with the care my mum has received and the support and understanding we have been given in difficult circumstances.
I feel that Mum has been very welcomed by everyone and the staff have helped her to settled into her new situation.

Went today 28/10/23 to visit my dad at Lever Edge Care Home and was invited along to the Halloween party organised by a member of staff. She had put a lot of time and effort into making sure it was perfect and her hard work really paid off! She deserves credit for all her hard work and credit to her
as she always manages to get my dad to join in which is a task in itself with his dementia. Was great to see the residents enjoying themselves too.

The staff at Lever Edge are always friendly and caring and can't do enough for you. The facilities are good, lovely big rooms and plenty of trips for the residents to go on if they wish.

I visit my friend twice a week and I always notice how the staff on both floors tend to treat the residents with so much patience and it's so nice to see this. I can honestly say this to anyone. It's not an easy job anyone can do but at Lever Edge, they have certainly found the right people for the
job. I call my friend every day and she always says she is happy and content. I think that says it all.

My mum has dementia and has been a resident at Lever Edge since February 2022. She has settled really well. The staff are friendly and caring. The home is very well looked after and is welcoming to visitors. The entrance is looking great!

This fantastic establishment for the residents always see them being well looked after even all the staff are so polite and every time I speak to them always get a warm welcome met a young lady really helped me with my experience as this was my first visiting my grandfather was a pleasure thankyou.

My 94 year old dad had lived in his own home for over 60 years, after a short spell in hospital he was unable to return home. As a family the decision to move dad into a care home was heart-breaking, how lucky we feel that a place was available at Lever Edge Care home, the amazing staff cared and looked
after dad in a patient and respectful way, as a family we were listened to and made to feel welcome, every member of staff did their best for us all. Sadly Dad passed away but we were able to spend his last week at his bedside day and night and with the help of the care team we got through a very difficult time with some smiles. Amazing caring people doing a very difficult job. Thank You x

After a stroke, Mam spent Christmas and New Year in hospital very confused and angry. Two weeks ago she was deemed fit for discharge. Within 24 hours at Lever Edge, she had seen the hairdresser, was dressed and looked like a brand new woman. Her anger has passed and although she would love to go home,
they are really ensuring her transition is totally supported. I also feel supported and happy with their care and friendly approach.

Job Title: Activity Coordinator

Joined: 2014

I started working at Lever Edge in 2014, I worked as a carer for 9 years and when the activities coordinator job role came up last year I thought I would go for it, doing this job for the last 12 months I feel I have excelled in my confidence and thrived, I really enjoy making all the residents happy, I have a great rapport with all the residents, families, friends, and people and businesses in the community who donate some wonderful things to Lever Edge. I won Star of the Month in January for my compassion and aspiration.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Joined: 2011

I have worked at Lever Edge for 13 years, starting as a carer and working through the ranks to a senior, unit manager and 6 years in my current role as a deputy manager now, I feel I am a great support to management and all the staff.


I hold an NVQ level 5 in Leadership and management.


My greatest achievement was writing a poem during the pandemic I entered a competition and out of hundreds of entries I won. My poem was then published along with my photograph in a book called ‘Poems in a Pandemic,’ so a very proud moment!
