My mother voluntarily moved to Wingates and there enjoyed exemplary care for the last four years of her life. The family atmosphere is evident both from the personal attention given to residents and from the ways in which family and friends are welcomed. During mum's final weeks, though she spent
much of the time in hospital, Wingate's staff made every effort to keep in touch about her progress and visited her whilst she was an inpatient. When mum needed to return to Wingate for end of life care, the sensitivity, compassion and professional courtesy shown both to mum and to the family was outstanding.


Wingates is a care home that tries - and succeeds - to provide truly holistic care for its residents and a welcome to their families. I cannot praise it highly enough.

My Grandmother moved into Wingates aged 95 around 12 months ago. When we first visited Wingates it felt very homely, the staff very welcoming. The Senior carer showed us around. All the staff were friendly. During her time there staff have been wonderful, and the PA always there offering sound words
of advice, giving us time when we needed it even if she was in the middle of something else, and very approachable as were all staff. The Chef is so kind, his food delicious, Grandma had a soft spot for him & the senior carer. Another senior carer and too many others to mention were so good with her and us. It was a comfort.
Sadly 22/03/16 Grandma passed away. In the days leading to this staff were amazing, not only keeping her comfortable with dignity but looking after us, her family. Nothing too much trouble, even supplying regular meals & drinks. Their kindness & care meant more than words could express. Much as Grandma was feisty & a character the staff coped beautifully & were loving, above and beyond just a job.
