At Holt House admission is open to anyone irrespective of personal belief but the ethos of the home is Christian. Although not all staff are practising Christians, Holt House is run on Christian principles.
        
Care is enhanced by an awareness that people should be regarded holistically, which means their physical, spiritual and mental well-being are all cared for. With this in mind the care that is available has an input from the Home Chaplain who is an ordained minister.

This home accommodates older people, living in 3 units consisting of its own lounge and breakfast area. All single bedrooms each have en-suite facilities of a washbasin and toilet. Separate bathrooms with assisted mechanical aids are also situated on each suite.

There is a beautiful conservatory overlooking the gardens, which residents are encouraged to use.

My mum has been a resident since November 2024. I was anxious at first about how Mum would settle after living in a family home and attending daycare. I found the staff at Holt House very friendly. As I live overseas, I thought I would feel isolated in her care, but Holt House staff are never too busy
to answer queries and hook me up by videocall to chat with Mum. I highly recommend this residential care home. Nothing is too much trouble, and the staff go out of their way to make the residents feel at home. Meals are cooked to individual preferences and at all times they relate to your questions or concerns. Holt House offers events and activities for the residents. I see Mum daily on the Holt House social media group attending the group activities and can see how lovely she looks when she has just had her hair and nails done. I am very pleased with the care and attention my mother receives and can see how well looked after she is. Thank you to all the staff at Holt House for making my mum welcome and settled.

My dad is well looked after and is very happy at the care home. The staff are very patient and help my dad when he is struggling, but let him be independent when he is able to, which he still likes to be. His clothes are always clean and he looks smart when I visit.

This is to say that since my father was placed at Holt House he has thrived 100% due in no small way to the professionalism and profound care and understanding of the staff.
My father suffers from vascular dementia and is totally reliant on the care staff and although I can't spend as much time with
him due to the distance I live from Manchester, I have no qualms as I have complete faith in the home and their trusted team and just know he is in the right environment for the rest of his days!

My mum was lucky enough to get a place in Holt House in April and I can't praise it enough. It really is a proper home where she is known and cared for as an individual. Her preferences are understood and catered for and all her needs are met with kindness and good humour. The home is a lovely place
with a beautiful garden and the atmosphere is very positive with lots of fun. I am very grateful for each individual who contributes to such excellent care.

My wife has been resident here for approximately two years the care she has received has been constantly first class and the same standards apply to family members visiting.
Of special note is the opportunity for residents to take part in a number of activities on a daily basis.

Holt House is a wonderful care home. It is very well run and staff are exceptionally good. I am happy that my aunt is very well cared for. The home is lovely - well kept, bright and airy and spotlessly clean. There are plenty of activities going on and entertainment. The garden is lovely with plenty
of space to sit out in summer. There are a number of lounges and conservatory overlooking the garden where residents and family can go. As a care home, I cannot fault it.

On arrival at Holt House, I was greeted in a warm friendly manner by the head of care team. After initial introductions I was given a thorough tour of the home and garden. I thought the place had a nice busy orderly but homely feel to it, staff gong about their duties catering for all manner of patient
needs.
On exit from Holt House I was instructed in the front door security system which I was happy with. I thought my mother will be well looked after.

There is an impressive Staff to Resident ratio and the staff are always visible, always doing something for somebody, which gives me reassurance that they are working hard to look after my Mum.
The place is clean and tidy and the staff are pleasant and happy to help.
There is a clear structure to
each day and whenever I visit, there is some form of activity going on, providing interaction and stimulation. It is exactly what my Mum needed and this has helped return a proper structure to her daily routine.
We have all noticed a positive change in Mum's personality since she moved into Holt House and it has lifted a lot of demand and pressure from us all.
We are impressed and happy with Mum's move to Holt House.

My mum has been a resident at Holt House since 4th April, following a considerable period of care at another care home. The home has a very friendly and welcoming ambience and the staff are extremely helpful and receptive to requests. I have been particularly impressed by the varied and engaging range
of activities organised such as pet therapy, quizzes, religious services and painting. I would highly recommend Holt House and my experience has been very positive.

Dad is living his best life. He has friends, he absolutely adores the staff. He joins in all sorts of activities including things he has never done before like cooking! Having a Chaplain and regular worship is important to Dad. The staff deal very positively with Dad's dementia and always with respect.
He is encouraged to make good choices and supported unconditionally.

My mother has been in Holt House for 18 months now and throughout this time her care has been excellent, always respectful and individualised. I feel that the staff really know her. Recently she broke her shoulder and needed more help but staff attentiveness to her changing needs could not be faulted.
My mum does not take part in the activities provided but she enjoys sitting in the garden in fine weather and staff are always happy to take her out there.
The carers are always responsive to queries or concerns and deal with them in a friendly manner.
In general, Holt House has a really caring ethos.

My dad has only been a resident for about a month now, but we cannot fault the home or the care staff. It's a listed building in a lovely quiet location, with nice outdoor spaces. All the staff have been brilliant with my dad, helping him to settle in and feel at home. They are all caring, respectful
and kind to residents and there is always a really warm atmosphere and a welcoming feel to the place. We feel completely at ease knowing he is safe and well looked after.
We are so grateful for the care provided and really thankful to have found a place at Holt House.

The atmosphere when you enter Holt House is genuinely inviting and welcoming. We instinctively knew this was the place for Mum and 18 months later we are still of the same opinion. The home is warm safe and secure. The staff are dedicated, always at hand and nothing is too much trouble. Holt House is
not a care home, it is a home blessed with genuine carers.

My mum has been at Holt House for just over one month. On all my visits I have seen with my own eyes evidence of the very high standard of care that she and others receive.
In addition to my mum, who suffers from dementia and early-stage Alzheimer's, is blessed by the help and support she receives.
Also (but not least) the food and activities just blow me away.
I can relax 100% knowing my mum is safe and happy!

Our 96-year-old mother, who has severe mobility issues has been a resident in Holt House for over 2 years. Mum prefers to stay in her room apart from when she has a shower or has her hair done. Therefore she misses out on all the excellent activities which are available but is very content in her room,
where she receives excellent care from a team of friendly and hardworking staff.

I'm Julie, the registered manager at Holt House. I have worked in the care industry from leaving college, working my way up from a nursing assistant to a home manager level.


I have been a home manager for over 15 years and I am passionate about giving our residents the love and support they deserve.


It is a privilege to work in our resident's home.


A quirky fact is I collect tattoos- like them or loathe them they are always a talking point for the residents :)
