Dryclough Manor is a luxurious, hotel-style, predominantly purpose built care home, providing high quality care to its residents. Surrounded by an acre of beautiful landscaped gardens and rockeries, the home is a five minutes’ walk from Royton’s shops and amenities and is easily accessible by bus from Oldham and Manchester city centres.

At Dryclough Manor, staff aim to provide the very best facilities and care for all of residents. The dedication and devotion of highly-trained staff has established a reputation as an exceptionally ‘friendly and caring’ home. Residents’ quality of life is greatly enhanced by the comfortable, warm and safe environment that Dryclough Manor provides.

Dryclough Manor is registered with the Care Quality Commission to accommodate 42 residents in 40 bedrooms. All rooms are decorated to a high standard, equipped with telephone and television points, double glazing, central heating, a high tech nurse call system and almost all boast en-suite facilities.

A spacious, well appointed dining room, comfortable, plush lounge and quiet drawing room all overlook the attractive landscaped gardens. Residents are also welcome to take advantage of several sitting areas, a hairdressing salon, a computer corner, two large passenger lifts and off-street parking with level access. The beautiful grounds outside with a summer house and charming water fountain, are perfect for enjoying the fresh air and delightful, picturesque surroundings.

During the few weeks that Mum was in Dryclough Manor, she was treated with dignity and respect and, I feel, extremely well cared for and provided for. I and the rest of the family wish that she could have spent longer there before she sadly passed away. During her final days, the staff/carers did their
utmost to make her as comfortable as possible and we are all so grateful.

My mum has settled very well into Dryclough Manor. The staff go out of their way to make sure she and the other residents are safe and loved. In the two weeks that she has been in the home, I have seen a vast improvement in her, both physically and mentally.

I was given the task of looking for a care home for my Great-Auntie, it was not what she really wanted however with her failing health it was in her best interest to receive 24hr care and she finally accepted the decision. Not knowing where to start I rang a few local care homes, the staff I spoke to
at Dryclough Manor were very knowledgeable, helpful, and considerate. Great-Auntie has only been there a few weeks and we have noticed a massive change already, she is happy/content again, joining in with the activities, and loves her room. I am welcomed into Dryclough on each visit by care staff who are always helpful. The home is bright and clean with no odours. The Manageress is approachable and keeps me informed of any changes. I would most definitely recommend Dryclough Manor to anyone.

I arranged for my mother, having been in hospital for two months recovering from two fractures in her back, to move into this dreadful place on 21/3/22. She was unable to walk and not capable of living independently. Having been refused a viewing before Mum's arrival, I was horrified at the state of
this luxurious home. It’s shameful. My proud and immaculate mother was dressed in other residents' clothing on several occasions. I arrived on Mother’s Day to find her sitting in a vest and trousers mid-afternoon. The smell of urine is revolting. She had swollen legs and it took a week before they were elevated. The skin to Mum's legs was left to dry out and down to me to point out that they needed moisturising. The list is endless. I have now found a fabulous new home which is luxurious as Mum deserves and removed her yesterday. On leaving there was no apology nor was I asked why! Her medication was left unattended in what they call the reception area for my son and I to collect on our way out!

Dryclough Manor is a wonderful care home. The facilities are pleasant and homely with a luxury finish. The staff are amazing - all hardworking, caring and compassionate. Their attention to residents' needs, both personal and emotional, are second to none, nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms
and beds are spotless. The meals are varied with plenty of variety and cooked to a high standard. Security is strictly observed.

I would definitely not recommend this care home, the website is not like the reality of this home. I placed my mother here in May when she was discharged from hospital after breaking her hip. In the 12 weeks, she was there, she fell 8 times, resulting in trips to A&E and isolation upon return to the
home. Visits were extremely difficult to get, we were only allowed a 20-minute visit, at a small table behind the front door, surrounded by the staff sat at desks, no privacy whatsoever. We were made to feel a nuisance for asking questions, we obviously asked one too many questions, and my mother was given notice. Appalling behaviour by the management. My mother has now been in her new care home for four months, she is happy and settled and the staff are brilliant. Visits are always welcoming and best of all no weekly trips to A&E. Dryclough Manor was like a prison, not a care home.

Unfortunately, although the resident was lovely to look after, the daughter was threatening and a very difficult lady to deal with, and we had no choice but to give her notice. This review is a vexatious response as she was not happy that we had given her notice. We are surprised that this review has been published by this review site, as we feel it is clearly vexatious and not a true representation of the author's view and therefore we feel that it should not have been published.

My mother first stayed here for rehab and loved it. Mum had high standards, loving the food and company of the residents and carers. She said this was the only home she'd go to when the time came. Mum was welcomed back with open arms - 3 years later! It was the right decision. Mum's care was exemplary.
Their friendly and professional approach was appreciated. The care team always kept me updated and nothing was too much trouble. I'll always appreciate their empathy and dignity shown to mum in her last weeks and the compassion shown to myself. I was more than happy with Dryclough Manor.

My mum has been a resident at Dryclough Manor for over 2 years and during that time I have felt very reassured that she is safe and well cared for. Any time that Mum, myself or my sister have raised any concerns they have been addresses and dealt with by the manager or senior care staff to the best
of their ability within the confines of their patient to staff ratios. Mum particularly enjoys the food on offer which is always home made (she has put on weight since living here) and the entertainment programme (which before Covid was extensive).
The Covid pandemic has been challenging for the staff but I feel they have coped amazingly well in the circumstances and kept myself and my sister informed at all times. At one point when visiting was not allowed and Mum was in isolation we were telephoning every day to check how Mum was but were never made to feel these calls were excessive.
The home seems to have a very low staff turnover which is a testament to the manager.

I and my family shall always be indebted to the staff of this establishment. They looked after our mum with care and dignity. I can't praise the staff enough they were always happy and caring and Mum loved this. The manager and her staff are second to none having activities every day and even during
these difficult times with covid-19, they keep their residents safe. When they say this is a care home really, it's much, much more - they really do care.

My father is a recent resident at Dryclough and has settled well. The staff have been excellent in caring for his needs and quickly keeping the family informed of any problems that dad has experienced. Dad has one or two medical problems while in residence and the staff have been very pro-active in
seeing tom his needs and any concerns the family have raised. It is a major decision to commit a loved one into care and the staff have made that decision much easier with their attitude and professionalism.

Mum has always been very happy at Dryclough Manor and this means a lot to us. We can get on with our lives without having to worry about her. We know she is safe and well cared for. The staff are always happy, cheerful, helpful and positive and they behave in a professional manner, doing a difficult
job with a sense of humour. When Dad died in the care home their compassion and support were outstanding. Then two years later my brother died suddenly. Words cannot describe the support they gave mum and me. I would not have got through that dreadful day without them. I will never forget their kindness and practical help.

The family took the heartbreaking decision that we could no longer safely keep Dad's care at home. He was admitted on January 2019 to Dryclough Manor and we have never had any reason to doubt our decision. The staff are very good and it is obvious to watch that caring is not just a job to the residents.
They are happy, gentle and treat all with dignity and respect. My Dad passed away January 25th and the care the family received has been second to none.

The staff at this care home are compassionate, very capable and very efficient. They know each of the resident's needs and work towards delivering a comfortable caring environment. The home is spotlessly clean and well maintained. The rooms are clearly cleaned to a very high standard. The staff are
wonderful with relatives, offering support and advice. Nothing is too much trouble. The catering is of a very high standard with residents frequently offered choice. I can't praise them enough.

When my dad first arrived here I thought it was nice, not perfect but nice. The staff are nice though I think there could be more on duty with the number of residents. Over time my opinion has changed dramatically and I am personally not happy for my dad to stay there, unfortunately, the decision doesn't

Charlotte Goodwin

Job Title: Care Manager

Dryclough Manor is run by our super efficient, wonderfully compassionate Care Manager, Charlotte Goodwin. She has a wealth of experience in nursing dementia care as a Duty Manager for several years, holds a Registered Managers’ Award, NVQ5 in management and has recently joined our wonderful team to lead Dryclough Manor in its quest for excellence in all areas. Our outstanding care team are also dedicated and highly qualified; most have completed NVQ levels 2 or 3. We insist on a high standard of care, so our employees are carefully selected, full induction training is provided and continuing professional development is undertaken by each member of staff. Attentive and compassionate carers are available twenty-four hours a day. The high staff-to-resident ratio enables us to provide companionship and stimulation, as well as tending to your physical needs.
