Stoneswood is a privately owned care home in the beautiful village of Delph, Saddleworth.

The home provides 45 beds, the majority of which have wet rooms or en-suite facilities and stunning views of the surrounding countryside. There are multiple lounges, dining areas and plenty of space for relaxing or socialising within the home. The home also has it's own on-site café called "The Lodge" set within the grounds, which is a perfect place for a coffee & catch up with residents & families.

Stoneswood specialises in residential & dementia care and accommodates both short term respite stays, and more long term support.

My grandma fell poorly at the start of the pandemic with a non-covid related illness. Due to being deemed too frail and with the NHS overwhelmed she wasn’t able to have the operation she needed and so was put on end of life care. She had previously lived independently but moved into Stoneswood in summer
2020 after her end of life diagnosis. The care and attention to her needs were so good that my grandma was still going strong as we came out of the first wave of the pandemic and from being too weak to receive the life-saving operation, the staff at Stoneswood recommended she have another assessment and they had cared for her so well that the doctors deemed her strong enough to have her operation and she was removed from end of life care. My grandma has developed a good group of friends and continues to be well looked after.

Stoneswood and all its staff have been outstanding. My mum had to go into care during the pandemic and they have been more than carers to her, they treat her like a friend. The way they look after my mum is amazing. All the staff are hard-working, go above and beyond, the home itself is beautiful and
every member of staff is so helpful and compassionate when it comes to mums needs. I could not recommend this care home enough.

My mum, who has various types of dementia, had to move into Stoneswood last year, and the care she has received since then has been fantastic. The staff are brilliant at dealing with my mum. Nothing is too much trouble even during this incredibly difficult year. They immediately notice when my mum isn't
quite her normal self and always investigate if there is something underlying that may be causing it which helps to keep her happy and well. My mum really did not want to move into a residential home but she has been happy this last year and her dementia has been much less problematic, which we think is because of the constant mental stimulation and the excellent care she has had. As a family, we are extremely grateful to everyone at Stoneswood for doing such a great job of looking after our mum/grandma it has certainly made our life less stressful knowing that she is safe and very well looked after 100% of the time.

My father has been in Stoneswood for just over two years now and has been well looked after and very content since day one. We find all the staff very kind and very helpful it’s nice to know your loved one is being looked after by very passionate people. Nothing is too much to trouble. My father is
always washed and shaved, with his clothes washed and pressed he is very happy and more to the so are we very happy.

Stoneswood is a fantastic care home. It is set in a beautiful location. The staff go above and beyond to ensure a high standard of care to their residents. Management and staff are always willing to help with any questions. Overall, Stoneswood is a great care home with staff who are genuinely passionate

Stoneswood has plenty to offer including, lovely staff, beautiful surroundings and plenty of activities available for the residents. They have a cafe on-site with easy access, which is also great for residents. Communication between the care home and the family’s members is excellent, and the staff
go above and beyond.

The care home is set in spectacular surrounding but unfortunately, the care for my mother was below satisfactory. To make matters worse my mother was served notice during a pandemic and consequently had to be moved out of the home. Many of times during visits I observed residents being changed in their
room with the door open. On several occasions, we as a family reported concerns that we had but despite agreeing our concerns nothing changed. The relationship between the management and ourselves broke down simply because they could not take any criticism despite the vast sum of money they per month. I would not recommend this home.

My father-in-law has been a resident at Stoneswood for 4 years and I cannot praise the home highly enough. The care and attention he has received is first-class, as are the activities and entertainment provided to stimulate and keep residents motivated. During the coronavirus lockdown, the staff went
above and beyond in their dedication to looking after the residents. His room is very clean and comfortably furnished and he is very contented with being cared for at Stoneswood.

I visit my grandma at the home all the time, the staff are so lovely and caring, and they have done absolutely everything possible to make my grandma feel safe and well looked after during the COVID pandemic. Although it has been difficult not being able to see her over the past few months, it has been
very reassuring to know she is in such a wonderful home with such caring staff who go above and beyond for their residents.

I am very pleased with the level of care my elderly mother has received at Stoneswood. The care staff and management run an excellent nursing (care) home and should be congratulated for the high standards they maintain. The care staff are very warm and understanding and ensure the dignity of all the
residents. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to lots of friends.

Stoneswood is, in my opinion, the best possible place for my father-in-law to receive the care he needs. The carers go beyond their care of duty to make sure he has everything he needs. His room is always immaculate and he loves being there. Food, beautiful surroundings and entertainment are unbelievable.
I would say Stoneswood is the finest care home available.

Excellent and friendly service provided. Always made to feel welcome. Variety of activities for residents to take part in is excellent, and there is now the new ‘Lodge’ which is for the residents to visit for a coffee/cake with visitors, which means they don’t have to be taken off-site for this experience.
Residents all seem very happy, and I visit on a regular basis. Management is friendly and proactive.

If you have to place a loved one in a residential home, then please take the opportunity to use Stoneswood.
For a start, the home is situated in Saddleworth surrounded by rolling green hills. My dad often comments about the lovely views and wildlife.
The home itself is fantastic, large clean living
rooms, lovely spacious bedrooms, very good variety of food which I've tried, lots of activities and a fantastic on-site cafe which serves wonderful cakes and food.
What makes Stoneswood fantastic is the staff, all staff, from the owners to the carers. There is a real sense of care towards the residents, a pride in the work they do, and overall a feeling of genuine care and love towards the residents. I have seen many acts of compassion and empathy which fills me with such happiness and reassurance.
My dad is always treated with dignity, and I am so happy with the level of care he receives.
Stoneswood is a wonderful place, and I would highly recommend it to everyone.

Mum has been in Stoneswood since 2011. We were very lucky to get her a room in the newest part shortly after it was built. The standard of accommodation was immaculate and to a very high standard then and this has been maintained.


The staff and management team are excellent - they keep us fully up

to date and are always friendly and helpful to all queries. If there are any issues with regard to mum's health or care we are always consulted and kept fully up to date.


When my dad needed to go into residential accommodation it was very difficult to find somewhere we liked because we couldn't find anywhere that met the same standards as mum gets in Stoneswood (dad needed nursing care which Stoneswood can't provide, unfortunately).


We know at least one other resident in Stoneswood and believe their family have the same high opinion.


We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Stoneswood to anyone needing residential care for an elderly relative.

Mum has vascular dementia. She was living with a partner and not coping, was shouting a lot. Toxic, we moved Mum to Stoneswood in July 2018.
She's now much cleaner, less depressed and generally better off.
Her care has been exemplary, her room always fresh and clean. She eats well now and has regained
weight and strength, much better on her legs.
My brother and I are very pleased with her new position.

It was a difficult decision to place Mum in a home but we have felt supported throughout the whole process by the management and care staff.


Nothing is too much for them and they treat Mum with respect and dignity at all times.
The facilities/rooms are first class and everything is always very clean.


The personal touches and the understanding that all the staff have towards Mum at Stoneswood make a very difficult situation much more bearable.

Both my parents are now resident in the home and I cannot praise highly enough the care that is given. The carers are always cheerful, so patient and my mother, who has dementia, adores them. As I live very close to the home I visit frequently and I feel very comfortable in doing so and I am made to
feel very welcome. The management are very approachable and are very happy and willing to discuss any concerns and any issues are quickly addressed. The home is extremely clean, the activities are good, my parents particularly enjoy visiting the Lodge Cafe in the grounds of the home. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to others.

My grandma has been at Stoneswood for nearly 12 months and she absolutely loves it as well as us her close family. The staff are lovely, caring and treat my grandmother with the up most respect at all times. They always offer a range of activities for her to be involved in which she always thoroughly
enjoys. The overall feel of the home is warm, it’s always immaculate and I feel very happy my gran is there. The general standard is exceptional.

We visit our family friend in Stoneswood on a regular basis. Each time we go, we are greeted with welcoming and friendly staff who can't do enough for you. There is always something going on for the residents to enjoy, and the food is lovely. The home is exceptionally clean and well maintained. It's
more like a hotel than a home. I would highly recommend Stoneswood and definitely the best home around.
