Heywood's hidden gem! If you're looking for a home that really cares, look no further than Springbank. We were very fortunate to be told about Springbank whilst viewing a very disappointing home nearby. On the off chance we knocked on the door and were treated by 2 wonderful members of staff that offered
to show us through. As soon as we started looking through, I knew that Springbank was right for my dad. Carole and her team go out of their way to ensure that residents are happy and get the best possible care in a very clean and safe environment. They're great with visitors too. My father has been in Springbank and despite a very rocky start due to his illness which the team were very considerate with and managed extremely well, my dad has settled in perfectly. Thank you to everyone at Springbank.

My mum has been a resident in Springbank since February 21. From going into another house at the beginning, due to no beds available at Springbank, the manager and her staff have looked after my mum with exceptional care. The home manager and the care manager go above and beyond, including making sure
Mum's hair got permed. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Home-cooked food is excellent, and the care is the best. I understand now why no beds are available; it's the best.

After moving our mother from another home into springbank we have got our mum back again after she had a terrible experience in another home. I deliberately missed out care in that description. The other home didn't care.
Springbank care home staff are amazing. They have brought mum back to life and
we can see the twinkle in her eye again. She has dementia and needs 24-hour care and Springbank deliver that and more. The staff truly do care for the residents and mum is now flourishing in their care. She is eating better, looks clean and bathed all the time, hair brushed, clothes clean, and her demeanor shows she is content. We as a family could not ask for more and can only thank the staff for their hard work in ensuring our mother is treated with respect and dignity each and every day. We no longer have to worry about how our mum is being treated as it's evident every time we go and see her that the staff show her compassion and care each and every day.
Fantastic care home.

This was the first Christmas my mother has spent at Springbank and was going to be different to all other Christmases. I need not have worried. I arrived on Christmas morning to find residents singing Christmas songs and carols with a singer playing her guitar. Staff were dressed festively and joining
in. The tables were set out beautifully and like all the decorations, every effort had been made to stimulate and interest the residents. Such a warm and active atmosphere, such a lot of hard work. I felt that everyone cared.

Current Review Score: 8.3 (8.250)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.3 (8.250) out of 10 for Springbank is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for Springbank is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.25 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Springbank is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 20 registered maximum number of service users is 4. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 4 = 0.25

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
