I visit my husband almost daily, unannounced and at varied times. I am always happy with the care provided. The staff are always polite and helpful, very caring and patient with the residents. However, I think it would be good to have more activities, singing etc., as this seems to engage the elderly
with dementia illness, instead of sleeping for a lot of the time.

We have been very happy with everything at the home, seeing our mother happy is the main thing. She joins in with most activities when she can. She is always clean with clean clothes and hair is done by hairdresser every fortnight and occasionally she has a perm. The staff are always pleasant and have
patience with them, they seem to care for them as if they were their own family.

My mum has been a resident of Ecclesholme for the last three years. I visit every day and it is a pleasure to be there. My mum is so very happy and well cared for, and when I leave her it is a tremendous comfort to know I leave her in safe hands. The kitchen is well run, everything is prepared in house
and all dietary requirements catered for, with a very varied menu. There is a regular exercise class and further activities planned for the coming year. All in all, a very well run home.

Our mum has dementia and has been at Ecclesholme since March 2019. Mum loves her surroundings which are beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff are very gentle and caring and understand the needs of each resident. They have varied entertainment where they are included and encouraged. Mum loves
the food and is happy being there. We have only had one problem when Mum first went into Ecclesholme due to changeover in doctor and Mum's medication, but all that is sorted now and all is well.

My mother receives excellent care at Ecclesholme. All members of staff make an effort to know her and us as a family. She sees a doctor when necessary and a chiropodist and optician regularly. All her needs are taken care of eg., her room is always clean (thanks to housekeeping staff), her hair is always
tidy (thanks to the hairdresser), her clothes are always clean (thanks to the laundry staff). She receives regular meals of high quality (I know this as we have eaten with her) and the catering staff know what she likes. Relatives and friends are always made very welcome by staff. If I was to pick a problem it would be that other residents can wander into her room.

I have looked after my husband 24/7 who suffers from Alzheimer's for over 6 years and it was only when I was admitted to hospital that it became obvious that I could no longer give him the care that he needed at home with me. He has, and still is, a Free Mason for over 30 years so I decided to contact
Ecclesholme where I found them friendly, supportive and helpful. Making the decision to put my husband into full time, residential, care was very hard, but he settled very quickly and is happy in his surroundings. The staff are so kind and caring that I know I made the right choice. When you put the care of a loved one into someone else's hands it is a great responsibility and you are putting a great deal of trust in them. Whenever I go to see him I can see the care and kindness is always there.

We have had so much support from everyone in the home.
They have made us so welcome and explained everything that was happening to us.
My mum got very poorly and they did everything they could to make her comfortable.
You have a great home and great staff, they are a credit to your company.
Thank
you from the bottom of our hearts.

Ecclesholme is a very friendly well-organised care home. The staff (I have met lots of them) are all very friendly regardless of my dad's mood! If they don't know anything when I've asked they find out, nothing is too much trouble. I have seen several other care homes in Great Manchester area with my
in-laws being residents, this is by far the best I have seen.

Before my mother was admitted into this home we looked at several others. Ecclesholme was by far the best.
Since my mother has been here we have come to realise Ecclesholme is even better that we thought.
We have nothing but praise for Ecclesholme and no complaints.

Ecclesholme is the absolute epitome of what a care home should be, the care is given with love and preserves the dignity of the resident. The staff are regularly updated by the courses and are efficient and courteous. The environment is homely and kept scrupulously clean, the meals are varied and delicious
whilst being attractively presented. Activities are planned to keep the residents mentally and physically stimulated.

My husband has been in Ecclesholme since November 2016 and I have found the care he has received there to be excellent.
The food is always appetising and any resident who struggles to eat is assisted and special diets are catered for. The home is spacious and has several lounges and seating areas so
residents can wander at will in safety.
There are numerous activities, especially music based, and residents who can participate are encouraged to do so.
What I like most is that care is shown by all staff members including the catering and cleaning staff. The home has a great atmosphere among its staff which translates well into the care of all residents.
The only negative is that the decor is a little tired, but as the residents are oblivious to this it is not as important as the care residents receive.

My dad was admitted to Ecclesholme only 6 weeks ago and although he has Alzheimer's disease, he has settled so well, I think mainly because the staff are so kind and caring. They encourage him to sing which he loves and the other residents sometimes join in.
I am so pleased with where I have chosen
for my dad.

My mother has been a resident at Ecclesholme for the last 12 months. The staff are caring and professional. The kitchen standards are very good. However, the overall appearance of the home is dated and in need of redecoration. I feel that there is little stimulation and few activities with the exception
of the excellent music therapy on a Friday.

Current Review Score: 7.6 (7.617)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.6 (7.617) out of 10 for Ecclesholme is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.292 for Ecclesholme is calculated as follows: ( (11 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.292

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.325 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ecclesholme is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.2

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
