Anchor's Beechfield Lodge in Salford is a purpose-built care home, providing quality care and facilities within a comfortable and relaxing environment. Located in the heart of the community, it provides residential and dementia care for up to 60 customers. They continue to welcome new residents for permanent and respite care.

Beechfield Lodge's en suite rooms provide studio flat accommodation, which they encourage residents to personalise. These comprise of a kitchenette, in addition to bedroom space and a private shower room.

Beechfield Lodge is proud to have achieved Veteran Friendly Framework (VFF) accreditation to be able to provide appropriate support to veterans requiring care.

The home provides residential care which is personally tailored to meet the individual needs of customers and enhance their quality of life. The care team works with customers and their loved ones to create detailed care plans to ensure each individual’s health and care needs are continually met.

Anchor provides dementia care and provides ongoing training to care staff to ensure their approach always reflects best practice.

I find Beechfield Lodge extremely well run and clean and the staff all kind, caring and conscientious. My Aunt is currently being cared for there and she can be a little challenging but the carers are always good and kind with her, which really puts my mind at rest. She always looks clean and well
cared for.

My mother recently passed away following almost 3 years as a resident. During that time the staff have always treated my mum with kindness and respect. Indeed faced with some challenging residents I have only ever seen kindness and a calm attitude presented.

Overall the family were very happy with the treatment of our mum whilst in your care. She was looked after very well and treated with love and kindness dignity and consideration at all times. Monthly reviews and updates were valuable for us to speak with Key workers and discuss any hitches if either
side felt the need never encountering any problems.

I visit my neighbour from time to time on very different occasions and I found Beechfield Lodge to be a very friendly place with very helpful and pleasant staff. The residents all look very happy and are kept entertained. All rooms are always kept clean and tidy and the food I have seen always looks
good.
I have been in a few homes around my area and Beechfield is far the best. Well done to all the staff.

An excellent home where care is a high priority. Management is also excellent and very proactive. My father has been in the home for a year and I am so glad I chose it. The residents are the centre of care provision. The environment is stimulating and the home kept immaculately clean. Any requests I
have had have been met fully. It is a real pleasure to go into the home. The staff are attentive and always pleasant and welcoming. A great team providing high-quality care.

My Aunt was looked after extremely caringly for 10 years. The staff took care of all my aunt's needs and comforts in a professional but understanding and kind manner. My Aunt was very happy and appreciative with the care. The staff became her friends.

My wife was admitted on 25th September 2018. After a difficult start, my wife began to settle down. The staff were very kind and helpful and treated her as an individual.
The result of the care that she has received in the last few weeks she has shown signs of significant improvement, she is now able
to read and to write again.
Although the facilities are very good I believe that her imporvement is due to the efforts of the staff.

Mum had to give her flat up and like her family very upset and anxious. There was no need to be. Mum sadly passed away on the 25th August so was only there for 8 months but the staff were professional and caring and most importantly if they said they were going to do something they did it straight away
and got back to you. Staff were polite, good sense of humour, I can't praise them enough. One member of staff said on our first day, "we are your family, til your family get here". Need I say anymore? Must mention after mum's passing the home was just as lovely with us, fantastic home, keep doing what you do, you make such a difference.

1) Most carers do care, a few do not appear to do so.
2) The "evening" dinner is served at 4.30pm. This seems to be to suit carers. (Their shift finishes at 8pm). It means a long evening often without any activities.
3) Dinner on 25th July, when I started writing this (one of the hottest days of the
year) was fish cakes, which I did not try - or roast beef. A small heap of something mud coloured was said to be cauliflower but it did not risk that.
4) staff often lift clean glasses with fingers inside which I do not consider hygienic.

1)   We are truly disappointed that any resident would feel that any of the staff do not appear to “care”, we have robust recruitment procedures and only employ colleagues who demonstrate a good understanding of what we expected of them at interview.
Colleagues are trained and supervised.
Concerns can be raised to any colleague and there is a suggestion box for compliments, concerns or complaints which can be anonymous. Resident questionnaires are also used to get feedback on the service.
Beechfield Lodge receives a high number of visitors daily and I am confident any concerns regarding lack of care would be brought to my attention and any concerns are raised with all colleagues to ensure the highest level of care is demonstrated at all times.

2) Changes to service time of evening meal:
At the Residents and Relatives meeting on 1st August 2018, it was agreed the evening meal service is generally completed by 5.30, however on occasions requests are made to have a meal at a later time and this is always accommodated.
Although we aim to be flexible with meal times there needs to be planned meal service times as we take great pride that all our meals are prepared and cooked using fresh ingredients on the day of service.
Refreshments and snacks are available 24 hours a day in various locations around the home.


3) The evening meal on July 25th was fish cakes or roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, I have spoken to colleagues and I am confident that they were aware that the Yorkshire pudding was to be served with roast beef and not fish cakes. Without knowing which colleague served the meal I cannot confirm what happened in this instance but I am confident this is not the normal practice.
Residents choose their meals at the time of service. If a resident does not want one of the meal choices on the menu, additional choices are always available including salads, jacket potatoes with various fillings, sandwiches and soup etc. There is a sweet trolley at every service offering a choice of hot and cold sweets.
Visitors who dine with their family member or friend have always provided positive feedback about their dining experience.


4) Colleagues have been reminded not to carry clean glasses with their fingers on the inside when they are setting tables.

Carers were cheerful and caring even when my father was grumpy and uncooperative or demanding. They managed his medication and personal care needs with dignity and coped with his moods with warmth, patience and humour. The care home was always clean and comfortable and the food varied, tasty and well
presented. Staff very caring.

My mother was a resident at Beechfield Lodge for almost 3 years before her death at the age of 99 in January this year. Whilst she lived there I can only praise everyone for their care and kindness. Mum felt happy, safe and cared for. Unfortunately, my sister and I were disappointed and saddened that
no one from Beechfield came to Mum's funeral. It seemed as though she was forgotten about now she was no longer there.

I've looked a number of care homes in the area but Beechfield Lodge was the best. The staff are very friendly and professional, they work very hard and do an amazing job. All the residents look happy and the food is lovely, my mother is eating more here than she did at home.
The staff keep up informed,
contacting you if there are any issues.
There are no restrictions on visiting call in anytime, the home is bright and airy and roomy. The residents are safe and well looked after.

Being faced with the situation of your loved one having to move into care is probably one of the hardest things a family has to go through, however, after looking around at numerous care homes, we knew from the moment we stepped into Beechfield Lodge that this was where our dad would be happy. The building,
the staff, the management and atmosphere is truly fantastic. We are so happy we were lucky enough to find Beechfield and have never looked back since. We can't recommend them enough.

My aunty was thankfully cared for here until she sadly died last month. The home is spotless, welcoming and well run. My aunty's room was of a very high standard and was always kept immaculate, as was she. There were always activities for her to be involved with. I am grateful that she enjoyed living
at Beechfield Lodge and she was well cared for, included and safe. The meals were of the highest standard as is the running of the home. Staff and management are approachable, friendly and professional. It is a lovely home and I am so grateful I found it. Others should follow their example.

Although Dad suffered with Dementia, he was very happy and was always encouraged to join in activities. He was spoken to by name by all staff and always treated with respect.
