Appleton Lodge care home, located in Bredbury, on the outskirts of Stockport, provides personalised residential and residential dementia care from a welcoming and purpose-built setting.

My mother-in-law moved into Appleton Lodge in November 2019 and has settled in really well. Her room is very spacious and she has her own bathroom and toilet. She can watch TV in her own room or go into the lounge so she has the best of both worlds. The staff and manager are amazing people they go above
and beyond. During the lockdown, I've had no worries at all. The best thing about this place is the staff are very consistent and pleasant. Excellent, can't fault it.

I stayed at Appleton Lodge whilst waiting for a new flat and really enjoyed my time there. The staff were all lovely and you could have a good laugh with them. The food was good in the majority. I had a nice view of the garden and was always invited to join in with activities but I like my own space.
I liked talking to the girls and would come back again if I could.

My Nana has been at Appleton Lodge for a few years since breaking her hip. The care staff are excellent and always go the extra mile to make Nana feel comfortable and cared for. Since lockdown, I have only been able to do window visits but the staff have always put my mind at ease and I have never had
to worry about my Nana's safety, dignity or health. Thank you.

Both the day and night staff are excellent and I am always treated with respect and dignity. Thank you.
In these times of Covid 19, some thought needs to be given to visiting in the winter to ensure that visits continue even in bad weather.
My only concern is that since arriving at Appleton Lodge
I have not been able to see any physiotherapists to help aid my recovery from a stroke.

Thank you for your review, we welcome all feedback as this helps us to make improvements where required. We continue to work alongside Government guidance with Public Health England and are currently procuring facilities to be enable indoor visiting during the winter months when the local lockdown for Stockport is lifted. We appreciate this is a difficult time and we will continue to keep residents and relatives updated with the progress of this in the upcoming weeks. Unfortunately the physiotherapists have been unable to attend the home during lockdown and will resume their visits once the lockdown is lifted. I will liaise with the physiotherapy team locally to see if there are any virtual visits they can undertake to aid your recovery. The care I have received and seen delivered here has been caring, thoughtful, sensitive and proficient. It is also to be noted that it has also been client-centred and sympathetic. I have been made to feel expertly cared for and very comfortable whilst a resident here.

My father has been a resident at Appleton Lodge for approximately 6 months and since he has been there I have had no reservations, worries or concerns whatsoever. The whole team at Appleton are professional, caring and go above and beyond to make residents feel like a part of the family. The home
is clean, residents are all very well cared for and family members are made very welcome at all times. The manageress and her deputy are very approachable and will accommodate any requests you have.

After much deliberation, we decided that Appleton Lodge was the right place for my mother-in-law and how right we were. From management down to maintenance staff, the service is excellent. Whilst it took her a while to settle, she was treated with respect and dignity from her first day. Appleton Lodge
(and its staff) deserve every praise.

My dad has been residing in Appleton Lodge since Sept 2019. He is well looked after and the staff have been on the ball with any worries we may have raised. We feel confident when we leave him that he is in good safe hands and the staff are mainly all lovely, kind and caring. My dad has a number
of issues and is most likely one of their more difficult cases, he isn't a particularly social man, never has been but they do try their best to encourage him to join in with things. We recently attended one of the Christmas parties where they had a singer on and it was lovely, it was so nice to see my dad singing and clapping along. Well done to all the staff who are really hardworking and sociable.

My husband is a resident at Appleton Lodge and I am full of praise for the management and carers. They are so caring and look after my husband so well. He has so many medical problems and they make us feel at home. The food is excellent and I say compliments to the chef and kitchen staff, I feel I can
go home at night and am confident my husband is being well looked after.

My mother seems very happy. She has had one or two health scares and the staff have been superb. My mother enjoys the quizzes, bingo, exercising, having her hair and nails done. All the staff are friendly, very caring. I'm happy that my mother is happy.

Appleton Lodge is spotlessly clean. All the staff work hard but have time to attend to the residents' needs, always with a smile.
The food is all home cooked, fresh and tasty.
The self-contained rooms are en-suite, light and clean.
An outstanding home from home and I feel safe in the knowledge my
mum-in-law is cared for by professionals. Five stars all around.

Appleton Lodge Care Home has changed my mother's life for the better - the change in her is immense compared to living on her own and mother is now as bright as a button. The home is clean, tidy and good food. The staff are all friendly and mum loves the banter with the staff. The difference in her
amazing/1 a care home is the last place mother wanted to be, she's a very proud lady but she loves it here! Fantastic!

I viewed two care homes before Appleton Lodge. Residents were sitting in silence doing nothing. Both homes needed refurbishing.
Colour schemes were dismal. I found both extremely upsetting. Staff at each were satisfactory.
Appleton Lodge was very different. Bright, welcoming, music playing, residents
active and aware. Staff committed to providing a good service to all - residents, visitors and each other.

I live some distance away and so cannot visit as much as I would like, but when I do I arrive unannounced. I always find the home clean, tidy, smelling pleasant. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. But most importantly my mother is always well presented with clean clothes, hair combed and comfortable.
I always leave confident that my mother is in good hands and well cared for. All the residents seem very contented. I am happy that my mum is in such a good home.

Mum has been in Appleton Lodge for some time now and I must say she has really settled in. The staff are wonderful with her. They're really nice and helpful to her family, they have a lot of time for her, she's kept tidy and clean, clean room and nice meals but most of all she seems content and happy.

My mother has been living at Appleton Lodge for two years. During this time her needs have changed but have been fully met by the management and staff without any problems. My mother and our family are very pleased with her care and feel fortunate that she is in such a safe and caring environment. The
staff are wonderful with my mother, their medical and personal care for her are excellent, they treat her with respect but are cheerful, friendly and we feel like part of a big family. The facilities at the home are modern and clean. The atmosphere they have created is very welcoming and inclusive; this applies to all residents, family and friends who come to visit.

Kay

Kay Eadsforth

Job Title: Home Manager

“I believe that kind of care means treating people just as you would like to be treated and doing what you can to make a difference in their life.”


Kay has gained many years’ experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and committed leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked for the company for several years, Kay closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident.


She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Appleton Lodge.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Kay remarked: “I just love spending time with our Residents and being able to improve the
quality of their lives.”


Away from work, Kay enjoys reading and spending quality time with her family.
