I was really worried about my mum settling in a huge change for all of us she’s only been there a couple of days the staff are very friendly the place is very clean and tidy your made to feel welcome from the very first time you set foot in the door, they all seem very approachable I came home feeling
very settled in the knowledge that my mum was safe and cared for and she actually stated she liked it ( what a relief to hear those words)

Staff are always helpful in regards t residents and visitors. The home is always clean and tidy and in good repair. The only minus is sometimes clothing has gone missing but this is probably due to them not being labelled by relatives.
The staff do a super job in a difficult environment and coped with
the added pressure of the Covid crisis in a professional manner.

The care home is very well run, caring for all the resident's needs. There is adequate staffing, but as always would benefit from extra staff to cover whenever they are short-staffed. If they were able to have voluntary helpers, this would also be of great value. The carers or helpers would have enough
time then if staffing levels were increased, to spend that valuable important time needed with the vulnerable. I hope this issue can be addressed in all homes.

I visited Mumon three consecutive days as I live 200 miles away. Due to Covid restrictions, I was unable to look around the care home so cannot comment on cleanliness. All staff appear efficient, professional and caring towards Mum. She was well looked after and seemed happy and settled in her new environment.
She passed favourable comments about food and activities. Overall I felt she was in good hands.

Mum has been at Bamford Close for three years now and although she struggled to settle in initially staff were extremely caring and supportive and she settled quite quickly. Due to her dementia she can sometimes be quite difficult to manage however, the staff are very patient and manage her behaviour
in a extremely professional manner. Although the home is a little tired it is always kept very clean and I have never noticed any unpleasant smell which you can in some homes, although some of the furniture in the bedrooms could do with updating.

My mum arrived at Bamford Close Care Home not long before Covid 19. She settled in well and staff were very helpful. Her medical and dietary needs were met. During lockdown I have had confidence Mum is ok by receiving emails and phone calls. Staff are very friendly and supportive and they are doing
the very best for my mum. A big thank you to all.

I reviewed several homes before placing my brother at Bamford Close. I was not wrong with my assessment. My brother is very happy and very well cared for and has settled in well. Obviously Covid has played a big part this year. Nothing is perfect (we live in the real world) but the care has been excellent.
Any issues have been dealt with quickly. I have taken great comfort in knowing my brother is in the best place for his needs and they are being well met. I have over 20 years experience in the caring profession which gives me an insight and understanding of issues faced during this past very trying year. Bamford Close has been excellent, anyone who knows me professionally will tell you I have very high standards and I do not give praise casually.

My mother has been at Bamford Close since December 2019. The staff have been amazing especially through the difficult times of lockdown through COVID. Communication has been great and I can’t thank everyone enough for the dedicated care they have shown my mum.
Prior to Bamford, my mum had been living
independently it has therefore been a stressful time (more so for me than my mum!!) however, my mother seems to have settled in fabulously mainly due to the fantastic care and compassion shown by the staff.
The environment is warm and welcoming and both my husband and I find it a pleasure visiting.
P.s I can’t really comment on the food however I’m sure it’s excellent!!

Dad came to Bamford Close as the home went to isolation with no visitors. It was hard, we wished to ensure he settled, with isolation we were very worried. The carers/staff immediately put our minds at ease. Since his arrival we are very pleased with how he has responded to his new surroundings and
new friends, which I imagine with his capacity are still very confusing/a shock to the system.
Whenever we have spoken to any of the team they have been very helpful and caring and genuinely have a good rapport with Dad despite his occasional lapses. We have both used the option of window visits, again the team being extremely helpful ensuring Dad is as comfortable as he can be so that we can have a good conversation with him and recently had our first face to face gazebo visit which was great seeing Dad (under PPE social distancing) without a window to distract him.
Thank you for Dad' care/daily mental stimulation, very much appreciated, especially at this difficult time.

Visit to Bamford Close was well organised and kept to all the government guidelines regarding social distancing.
My husband was well turned out and appeared happy and contented although I noticed that his walking was unsteady and much slower. This is of concern and I would like to know how much exercise
he is getting. Even in ‘lockdown’ exercise is very important to his health and well being. I am also concerned how much time he is spending in his room with very little stimulation. He spends most of his day either sleeping or staring at the wall. He says he likes being left alone in his room which is an option for the staff.

Deborah Whitworth has been a Care Home Manager for over 10 years and has worked at Borough Care since November 2021. Deborah started off as a Care Assistant 30 years ago and worked her way to Senior Care, Team Leader, and Nurse Aid before becoming a Manager in 2010. She loves working in care because she likes to make a difference in residents’ lives and ensure they are happy and cared for. Deborah has an open-door policy and will always make time to speak to our lovely families about their loved ones.
