Bryn Haven is a delightful property that has been refurbished and upgraded specifically to suit adults with complex mental health conditions and dementia.

It is located in the Brinnington area of Stockport with close links to the local pedestrianised shopping area and health centre.

The home can accommodate up to 41 residents, offering a choice of communal lounges, including a wonderful, large conservatory, which provides a bright and airy seating area.

Residents can enjoy a game of dominoes, or snakes and ladders in the games room, or choose to take in some fresh air in the newly refurbished summerhouse.

Bryn Haven is also suitable for residents with mobility issues, with carers always working to understand the needs of each individual person.

My mum has been really well looked after here. The staff are so loving and caring and my mum and all of our family are extremely grateful. The activities that the staff put in place are excellent and bring a smile to everyone's faces.

My aunt has been a resident at Bryn House for the past eleven months. I cannot speak too highly of the time she has spent there. All staff from the manager to every member of the team, carers and ancillary workers alike are faultless. Nothing is too much trouble. If my aunt is unwell I am immediately
notified and advised as to the course of action the home is taking, with the support of relevant medical professionals. Most of all, I am so grateful for the wide range of activities on offer, ensuring a stimulating and positive environment. I feel very blessed that my aunt is cared for in this outstanding home.

Here visiting, another fabulous event organised for the residents and their families. Great entertainment and refreshments.
The care shown to residents is always high and attention is always given to being very inclusive and welcoming. Our relative appears very happy on our visits.

Mum moved to Bryn House in early October and was welcomed by staff in the most caring way. Mum has been encouraged to go into the lounge and dining area to socialise. We have already been on a trip to Blackpool Illuminations and had several parties/activities in the home.
We thoroughly enjoyed the
Las Vegas afternoon - it made Mum's day to have a dance and a photo with Elvis! Thank you!

Overall very good. The bedroom (my mum's) needs decorating and the wardrobe is too small. Hardly any room for clothes and shoes.

In the past, I knew two Bryn Haven Care Home residents who were very happy here. As my aunt grew older and required 24-hour care, Bryn Haven was my first choice and a very wise decision it turned out to be. My aunt has been very happy during her stay, she (and I) find the staff to be extremely caring
and understanding. The rooms and the home are clean and kept in good condition. Staff are extremely kind, caring and understanding of her increasing mental and physical frailty. Outings, special events and sing-songs are arranged and particularly enjoyed by my aunt. I would not hesitate recommending Bryn Haven to others.

I visit with a friend every few weeks to see her elderly aunt. Her aunt always appears happy and content, she appears to be well cared for, her room is always clean and tidy. The staff are always friendly and approachable. We are always made to feel welcome when we visit the home.

I attended a resident's 100th birthday!
I was overwhelmed with the care, effort and attention given by all the staff in making sure this person had an amazing time and all the residents enjoyed everything. The daughter of the resident took me to her room to take her presents back. I was blown away
by how lovely it was, I was blown away by how clean everywhere was. My poor mm died two years ago, just after her 100th birthday, I just wish that she had been in a place like Bryn Haven Care Home, she would have loved it and lived longer, I am sure! Well done everyone.

Although my wife did not want to be in a home, she always appeared to be happy there. She was certainly well treated by all the care staff and well-liked. They all do a tremendous job and are so caring. I looked at them and some of them are so young, yet they are able to show much compassion and care.
They do a job that not everyone could do, including me. They have so much patience and understanding and are truly in love with the job they do. Whenever I visited my wife, I was always made to feel so welcome and everyone was so friendly and understanding. I used to visit my wife every day and I got to know every member of staff, indeed they said and still do say that I am part of the family and I am so pleased and proud to think that they gave me that honour. I cannot thank them enough for what they did. My wife died in the home on the 1st March 2022.

Moved my mum here from another care home that was very poor. The difference straight away was like night and day. The staff were waiting at the door and you could feel the warmth of the atmosphere as soon as we walked in. The interaction with residents, good humour and the staff really do care, I cried
with relief getting Mum here. Best move ever, the staff really are approachable, kind and down to earth, lovely people. I feel like I can ask anything and that makes me relaxed. Mum is doing grand, very happy.

Communication is non existent. There is no evidence whatsoever that there was any handover from the previous manager to the present manager. This is not just my own isolated opinion. Every time that I visit and have the opportunity to discuss matters with other visitors they all make the same point.

Overall, I am satisfied with the care that my mother receives. As I live in Canada, I am in regular contact with my brother and sister and they keep me very well informed. The staff are friendly, kind, and respectful.
The one area that is sadly lacking is communication. We would like to see a newsletter,
photos and be informed in a timely manner of any changes to our mother's health and behaviour.
Also, for the families of new residents, a booklet containing information regarding settling their loved ones into Bryn Haven would be most helpful. I have suggested this previously. eg what to bring to their bedroom, names being put in clothing. The little things that are not obvious to newcomers. Maybe a volunteer could handle this.

Job Title: Home Manager

Amanda has worked for Borough Care for over 20 years, starting at homecare and working her way up to Senior Carer, Deputy Manager and now Home Manager at Bryn Haven where she has been since November.


She says, "Bryn Haven is a lovely home. The staff are amazing and the home itself is warm and welcoming, with loads of great activities. I want the home to be fun and to see the residents smile because if they are happy then I know we are doing a great job.”

She started her career as a housekeeper then worked her way up the ladder to care assistant then Senior Carer, then Deputy Manager
